Hi Mark, you are truly a master craftsman! I am 78 yrs young. Came across your video, and decided I needed this weave on my walking stick. Watched your video 15 times, bought some supplies and 20 hrs later, Voila’. My first project. Now on to something smaller.
Hi Mark, you’ve come a very long way since the first videos of yours I watched when I first found this channel. This sort of complicated tying and wrapping has been what I’ve been hoping for, for a long time. Thanks for keeping it going, and for growing so much. You’ve managed to keep my interest over the years.
Bro, you are the paracord master!!! No joke, your videos have inspired so many including myself to challenge and grow in more ways than one as a knot enthusiast. Thanks a billion for all your work, can't wait to see what's next!!!
I did it ! Mark thanks a lot for the clear explanation. The lessons I learned are : a. make the star weave a bit longer than you need because you will lose bit at the start and finish. b. if you make the 4 knots in a light color (mine were white) use a light color of tape to secure your work. c. if you think that the wrap for your star weave is loose enough, continue loosening. If you think it is too loose, you are almost there.
Excellent... I will doing a paddle wrap as an award for my team and was inspired by the star pattern. Thank you... keep up the excellent instructional videos.
I just ran through my basement trying to find something I could start this project on. I have an old pool cue that I retired a long time ago. I've wanted to hang it on the wall but the handle end of it is in real bad shape. Years of use/abuse and it being shipped half way around the world 4 times shows on it. I now know what to do with it and then make it a proper display case for it to hang with the pride I still have in it. Thx again m8 for the inspiration.
I wouldn't even try the triaxle weave without the "fid"/lacing needle, and even then it is a challenge.. so pretty and satisfying when you are done though.
Thanks Mark, always like these projects. Always a pleasure to watch. They give me lots of ideas to incorporate on future projects. I see walking sticks in my future.
Not related to the subject at hand, but I'm considering some of the techniques demonstrated by this guy to wrap a pair of headphones. Not the cord (although that could look neat), but as a way to contain padding added onto a worn out headband.
You demonstrated this weave nicely, very technical. But you "do good teaching"😊. I mfg.my own whips out of paracord and have had difficulty following some of this kind of stuff - in the passed, I'm still not yet completely proficient / get it second nature; But your vines help me very very much! This was key in my subscribing here. ..... Thx for your creativity and your own personal patients in your endeavors. This is a nice change of pace & relaxing hobby if you can get passed any of the hurdles that arise......☺😐😩😕😑😊 no worries it's all about growth, right?😎👍 🐵🐒🙈🙉🙊😎!!!!!
Same here. After watching the video for the 3rd time, I dream about Star(weave)s and Spanish hitch(hikers). I wish you a lot of patience and perseverance. See you on the other side.
Hi Mark, Thanks for this project. I know what I will do the next month(s) :-). Is it possible to add the maximum total length per color in the description? I don't have that much cord available and I order it separately for each larger project. I will add at least 10m per color that you mention, but I'm afraid that if I scroll trough the whole video to add up the number of meters I need, I would forget some. Thanks a lot !
Hey! This is something I considered adding into the video, but thought I must be the only one interested in things like that :). I'll add the lengths and give you a rough total. Mark
I'm not the guy you're asking but I think the star wrap or the even numbered herringbone plait would look good in my opinion. However it's the starting and finishing of the wrap that is likely to have challenges since in that case you'd not want it to bulge out. There's got to be a way to get the ends bound while being as close to flush as possible. Going around spokes may also have their challenges. And of course you can't just can't roll it to straighten and even-up the weave of the plait, so it's also going to need extra care for consistency. Now I'm curious if Paracord Guild would try to address that as a topic, because that would make an interesting subject to try. (Although I'd switch to leather stripping in that case instead of paracord. Since I've got a feeling it wouldn't show dirt over time as much.)
Hey! I did cover a relatively simple wrap in the link below. Maybe you will like the look as well. ruclips.net/video/1wRKJY1map4/видео.html Enjoy! Mark

Wow...pure gold instruction. Thank you. I am going to try that star weave on a walking stick. Thanks.

Braids and tapestries are a metaphor for reality

Probably the best of your tutorials!
WOW!! Just WOW m8. You have come a long way and I'm pleased to say you brought me along with you. Love your work. Pleas never stop.
nice that you put the supplies also and you put them in inches and cms ;) great work Thank you.
Beautiful work as always! Thanks for the high quality videos. I've learned so much from you already

I also use elastic hair ties that I cut to secure ends when wrapping. Makes it easy to keep it tight and in place before I tie down the ends.
Beautiful work
Nicely done. Thank you for sharing.

Indeed. Hemostats can also work, but take quite a bit longer.
Amazing. I didn't even know the name of what I was looking for.
Fantastic, certainly a labor of patience!

Next level work.
Pro tip for not going through a ton of lighters, use a tea candle when you're ready to burn the edges.
I promise not to tell the wife you are using her board! :) Nice job as always!
BRAVO 👏👏👏👏 VERY IMPRESSIVE
Thank you for making it so easy to follow along! Awesome work, always like looking at your channel!
So amazing! Thank you !!!
wow... that's nice
Very helpful thanks! ☺️
canyou seal the wrap with epoxy ? so water wont soak into the cord???

Hello, do you know what the wrap/knot/tie of Ahsoka's cloth covering her arms (in the Mandalorian) is called?
Very nice! This video is almost an hour and a half, and I'm sure there is at least some editing out, so how long did this actually take?
What size nails are you using ? Iron 1x6mm .25 in nails ?
You demonstrated this weave nicely, very technical. But you "do good teaching"😊.

Great...do you have a video showing how to wrap a steering wheel quick and easy?
