Excellent walking stick, even if the ferrule needs to be replaced to one with more grip. And it addresses the issue of removing the varnish of wooden canes when using alcohol based hand sanitiser.
Thanks for the video content! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you considered - Chireetler Dread Free Rule (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for learning self effective defence moves minus the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my GF at last got excellent results with it.
+J. Giron I'm considering buying a couple of these , I can not get a straight answer from customer service person about the diameter of the shaft of this cane. Do you know what the actual diameter of the shaft is? Not the thing on the bottom of the cane that is the attachment to the shaft. I have to walk with a cane and I teach cane defense. The cane tip on this cane would have to be changed to actually use it to walk with and a proper cane tip would replace it. But if I can't get the correct size then the cane would be useless. The shaft looks like it's 1 inch in diameter. Thank you for your help/advise. Also how stiff is the cane.
+Gordon Gaines Ya i agree. I immediately replaced the rubber boot with a more useful one from a cvs nearby. the cane diameter I measure is at 7/8 inch thick and comes in at 39 inches in length. It was easy to saw off to fit me. I hope this helps
+Gordon Gaines Oh and your question about stiffness. I notice when I put all my weight on the cane it does have a little flex to it, but nothing to be concerned about. This thing is solid if you ask me and I like to wield it during escrima practice
J. Giron thanks, I have ordered 2 of these I should have them today or tomorrow. Part of my rehab and exercise I walk, I need 2 to walk with as far as distance walking. For EDC I only use one.
I got these and have been using them for about 3 weeks now. I have even beat on a couple of bags with them. My wood canes are now in a closet and these are my favorite cane's. I put a proper walking tip on the end of both of them. I did a little modifying on them. There good cane's, I don't think I will ever have to replace them.
@@ericthompson9970 It's meant to be multipurpose, It hits hard, but if it's a sitty cane, a good ol ash cane with a brass head is basically a legit mace.
I just bought one, the ferrule is crap, a hard rubber/plastic hybrid and needs to be replaced with a quality rubber one for proper traction. The horn is very sharp as well, I haven't modded mine yet but am thinking of putting a cap on it to hide it from view.
I see you using a hack saw to shorten the cane. How hard is it to saw through? I have little shoulder strength. ???? Thanks if anyone can answer this for me... I am an older person.
@@MrEdium look up cane masters, they are expensive though. As far as the United Cutlery cane, it's because it's primarily designed as a self-defence cane that it's not approved.
Yep. I bought one from the Bud K catalogue, dirt cheap. I cut off the point and sanded it down and it looks great. It also no longer looks so obviously like an offensive weapon if you need to carry it into a weapons restricted area or onto a plane. And, @ Alejandro: No it doesn't decrease it's capability as a force multiplier if you know how to generate striking power. If you have to depend on a pointy beak on the crook to feel safe, either a cane isn't the weapon for you, or you need to train harder. Try Latosa Escrima. It'll help.
I only shorted the hook point on mine, cut it so it opens it up for spinning exercises, but it's sharp like a chisel point now. Stock is useless because it cant be gripped when sweaty or wet hands, especially with 7/8 diameter. I hitch on Constrictor Knots strategically placed for rasping, striking and powerful grip control. Practice it daily in the forest on dead standing trees right and left handed and also dual and triple welding with tomahawks and knifes. My first one lasted a full year of brutal abuse. I can rip out throats with the pointed hook, and it does rip off chunks of wood but quickly blunts and then I just leave that so it doesn't wear to short. Just go my new replacement and have already customized it from what Ive learned. Been taking it out since yesterday. Its my primary weapon, and I have taken one with me Everywhere Always for almost two years now. Even with a White Oak 1" cane outfitted custom like do, is super durable and mine are far far more deadly and look much cooler. Because these are so heavy, they make switching to a wood cane feel very lightweight and fast. I got this in the shower with me. I can fight it close in or from 12' away almost instantly. One or both hands and switching off. All the Cane training youtube guys and any belt system books involving cane are all bullshitters. Trust me, dont bother with any, and dont buy any of their shit. I buy oak cattle canes and modify them into real handsome and ultra powerful and durable weapons that are more usable as canes as well. I make simple quick draw detachable belt holsters for them with key rings and paracord. Got a way to retain tips while spinning and bashing dead trees also, yet they are easily replaceable. Ive done a tremendous amount of work developing this. Canes can take attachments like staffs and become pole arm as well. Or a staff sling. I use it as a multitool, and my special grips make that powerful as well. Im going to make a an inventory and sell them for profit maybe, along with basic tips to get started. Its possible to hook onto and climb shit with these when outfitted like mine. Im digging it like a super power. I can block and hook, and bash and rip. Asshole pulls a sword and can fuck them entirely with my cane. Can be extremely brutal, but you have to understand it. Like staff, sword, whip, stick, and hook and horn, all in one and its cane and great foraging tool in the forest. Cleans as you shower and provides 100% protection coverage goes everywhere. Replaces my hiking staff. Ive packed on muscle with these activities look like a weight lifter now from it, at age 56. Dont give a fuck what I look like anymore though. I carry mine everywhere always so Ive become it. Its normal and comfortable to always have my cane ready.

I just got one. its nylon/fiberglass harder then the Irish blackthorn. Kinda like Grivory. the Irish cane is polypropylene. more flexible. i don't think the polypropylene would work as well with the thinner cane. but I'm happy with both.

What is the weight limit?
For the badass grandpa.
If it's got the hook it's considered a health care device and can be taken anywhere. 😂 They're awesome.
I just ordered this cane. Really looking forward to using it.

Interesting.
My left calf muscle, has been playing up recently.

Question, how well does it function as a cane?
It's a deadly weapon!

hope they're more durable than the one I got from Walmart, I thought bamboo was supposed to get stronger with age.b
May have one made of sugar cane it's not as strong as bamboo cane.
They are, brought one a year back and it’s quite sturdy.
It depend on what age the bamboo are when they are cutted.

No problem, easy to cut with sharp hacksaw. 2 minute job at most.
@@thesmokingrooster8791 Thanks for the reply - just got the right TPI blade.
Wouldn't be better to have the handle not so curved so the sharp end points outwards!?
Thanks.
I wonder if you can bring that onto a plane?
it does say it is not TSA approved, not sure if you would get away with taking it on a plane, you can buy TSA approved defense cane however.

Very poor advertising for your product. Thanks for making up my mind what not to buy.
lol, no
I'd have to dull that tip on the horn a bit-- around here that would be considered a ILLEGAL WEAPON... (the point NOT necessary for mobility)..
The video doesn't help a bit
