Health Coach Kait I enjoyed your story. I’d like to see a video of you and Max doing a little bit of bicycle touring/camping. As far as health is concerned, for me it was when I found out I had type two diabetes, that was a big wake up call.

I am 54 years old. I lost 46lbs on Keto in 9 months. This may sound totally insane but once in a while I will have a cheat day and fast for 2 days. It makes me feel amazing and it helps maintain my weight. I would like to lose 10lbs but overall, I am happy where I am at. I rarely drink.

Carnivore was such a help to my period. I went from a 24 to 25 day cycle, to a 28 to 30 day cycle. No more bloating, cramps, or cravings. No fatigue and it's only 2 to 3 days long with light to average bleeding. Yes, please! Thank you, carnivore diet. It has helped with so many things, especially hormones and mental clarity

Hello Kait, just watched this video and appreciate everything you have said. I am 67 years old and a long time Evangelical Christian. Back in my day I was very athletic myself and very accomplished; A Californian AAU and division 1A high school " Calif State Meet" athlete. 4 years varsity in Track (second one in the history of my High School with an annual student body of 2,500 students), 2 years varsity in football and voted the best Athlete in my senior class with many awards earned and scholarship. While in college running track I injured my left hamstring 3Xs in 6 months and I never recovered. Everything went downhill from there. I also got into a few stupid situations (even criminal but never caught, Thank you God!) and poor healthy eating habits coupled with doing drugs and alcohol daily So, I say all this because I can relate to most of what you have said Kait.
The older one becomes hopefully the wiser and also the more regrets one has. I thank God for His saving grace, mercy and His forgiveness. I will leave with these two proverbs. "Youth is wasted on the young "and "Only until one gets sick and tired of being sick and tired is when one is more likely and ready for change. Thanks for the videos. 😃👍🙏

During my 25+ years in the sport of bicycle racing, I too felt like I could eat whatever I wanted, which I did, and I almost always had issues with my weight. Never as lean as I should have been, which is a big deal in bike racing. And of course back then I had never even heard of keto nor carnivore diets. It was carbs, carbs, carbs. And for years I was riding an average of 15,000 miles (24,000 km) per year, but you can't out-exercise excessive eating, especially with a lot of junk food.

I identify with so much of your story and path. I have PCOS. I’m healing my symptoms through a healthy low carb/keto diet. I was a vegetarian/pescatarian for a long time. I am now a certified health coach and am passionate about helping others (especially those with PCOS) heal their bodies through nutrition and heathy lifestyle). I probably won’t go carnivore, but I do eat mostly meat, fat, and veggies. I totally understand how a carnivore diet can help those who have struggled with sugar and carb dependence/addiction. Thank you for sharing!

    That was really interesting Kait.
Some girls lose their period when they lower their bodyfat level too far.
I was a full on bodybuilder for about 30 years but I was always active with bikes and Tae Kwon Do as well.😊
I got up to 106kg at 171cm, (which was really too heavy for my height). I felt great and I was enormously strong🤔😛
I had NO idea about diet. In those days, and the "way" with BBuilding in the 80's and 90's was to eat 6 'small' meals a day and keep your blood sugar 'even'.😁
Well I ate everything in sight as well as drinking too much. I had NO idea about Diabetes, that was for sick people, I was 'Bulletproof'.
One Summer, I thought I might drop off a few kilos so I went on a 'healthy' diet of fruit and 2-3 LITRES of fruit juice per day!.😮😫
I 'lost' weight alright. 20 kilos fell off. I thought, "This is going good, but I'm losing too much weight and muscle." What was actually happening was my body had gone into full on Diabetes and survival mode, but I didn't know that at the time.
I went to a medical for a job, (with a different Doctor to my regular one who ignored EVERYTHING I used to say to him), and the Doctor completely freaked out. He told me I had a major amount of sugar in my urine and that he gave me "2 or 3 years to live." You can imagine my surprise. 😰In fact he said if "I hadn't been going to the Gym for all those years I would have been dead already."😮😨😧
They basically put me on Insulin right away and sent me off to the Dietician who tried to tell me to eat plenty of whole grains etc, which I did, because I didn't know better at the time.
Anyway, long story short. I've suffered from ALL of the Diabetic symptoms. My eyes had to be lasered and the macula's are damaged. Charcot's foot on my right side. Kidneys hovering between stage 3 and 4. Not good.
But since discovering Keto I have made vast improvements and have much more stable energy levels. I have lost about 10kg so far. I still go to the Gym but not as often as I would like to due to work commitments.
Things are looking up in general though.😁

Hi Kait, this was absolutely brilliant! So helpful to hear your journey and know you've been through struggles just like us! I recently started Keto again, not by choice really but as a last resort to attempt to decrease inflammation in my body. I have Crohn's, joint issues and was definitely starting to have signs of insulin resistance.
My defining moment was about three weeks ago when I was doubled over in pain due to intestinal stricture about to ring the ambulance! I knew the drill...it's happened many times before - hospital, being put on a hydrocortisone drip, a naso-gastric tube and eventually being sent home with prednisone drugs. I really, REALLY didn't want to go through all that again. Luckily the pain subsided and I decided to fast for a few days. During that time I knew i had to change my diet or potentially end up in hospital again and maybe even have more bowel removed. So I restarted my keto diet again.
I've made a few mistakes along the way but as you say, the more unprocessed foods you choose the easier it is. Preparation is the key...I try to always have something prepared and ready to cook or already cooked. Boiled eggs are my saviour!
Only two and a half weeks on and no pain, no sugar cravings anymore and much more energy, plus the insulin resistance signs have gone (swelling in the ankles, frequent urination etc.) Oh and I've lost weight. Just the beginning but I feel confident I'll stay with it this time....I think I needed that nasty scare! I just can't afford to mistreat my body any longer. Anyway, many thanks for helping me through those first few weeks Kait. ❤❤❤

Thank you for sharing. Internal health is so important and even today with covid no one really emphasizes how important it is. I drive a commercial vehicle for a living (truck driver). I'm on the road a lot. Fast food is a staple at American truck stops. Just before covid I became a grandfather( motivation) After covid and hearing about comorbidities I took a greater interest in my internal health. I took out my passenger seat and installed a dorm (mimi) fridge and my wife bought me an induction cook top. My first 2 mo of keto/ carnivore I lost 40 lbs. I still need to lose 25 to 30 lbs to get to optimal weight. Those will be the hardest to lose but I'm in it to win it, as they say. Many blessings to you.

that intimate knowledge of food and thinking of it as fuel and rooting that mindset is my personal
"thing". imagining in my minds eye what this particular food is going to do to me and imagining what is happening to me from this food I just ate by the way I feel at that moment. paying attention to how I feel and imagining that my body is whispering to me. (waking up) and listening to the whisper.

I can really agree with you on triggers and finding what works on our own body. I was in a bad place 2-3 years ago, mostly mentally but also economically. I gained 35 kg in about a year time and so it also effects my physical health. I can't afford much healthy, whole food, and the only way I could try to do diet was with intermittent fasting. I tried to cut portion butI would feel hungrier and wasteful of the remaining food wasted when I was so broke, and I would return back to my disordered-eating because of the hunger. Then I just tried to concentrate my meal to one seating and allow myself to eat whatever I want within the budget. It was so unbelievably satisfying and satiating and after a few months I don't even feel that crushing sense of hunger I felt when I first started anymore.
Now I lost 20 kg and still hoping to lose at least 20 more kg slowly (I was overweight before even gaining 35 kg from depression).
I hope everyone can find what works best for them, and I wish everyone find themselves in the better place than yesterday ❤️

Hello from Adelaide. Great story, I watched right to the end (even though I am usually put off by videos that are quite long).
I am kinda following a similar path. I have tried Keto for almost six months last year, but drifted away over time (for various reasons). I now have my mojo back and am just testing out a Carnivore/Ketovore hybrid diet. Mostly Carnivore throughout the weekdays, and mostly Keto over the weekends. My wife and daughter are not too keen on the diet/lifestyle change - they still eat a 'normal' diet. As we like to dine out regularly, going more Keto on the weekends when necessary - for the flexibility - makes it easier for me to keep everyone happy, especially when we are going out for a meal.
So far this hybid diet is working well for me, I stay quite low on carbs, and I feel good.
Thanks for your videos Kait, I enjoy them.

Animal based became a good place for me too, even though I came to it from different reasons. Carnivore is more of a reset button for me now, or a safety template. But I did struggle to feel optimal on 100% carnivore long term. For me it does need some fine tuning, and definitely some carbs - although finding the right ones is tricky. But what's easy is always knowing the value of animal foods and that animal based always comes first.

I just poured 3 unopened bottles of stevia drops down the drain last night. Sweet tooth
triggered me to eat a half box of large chocolate chip cookies. Cookies followed
(I can't be trusted) down the drain. So right about sweet tooth and stevia. Interesting story.

Great story. I went through a lot of the same paterns in my life. I played a lot of sports and competed when I was young. I would also eat, drink and eat. My hangover remedy was McNuggets. My weight was yo-yoing and I lived my life that way well into my 40's. I started cycling and quickly got to a competing level, this helped with my weight but I continued to eat, drink and eat but now much less drinking. I continued this patern for a few years but I slolwy eliminated all drinking and started to eat a healthier diet. I eventually cut out all the sugar from my diet and went low carb. I am 60 now in the best condition of my life and basically etaing a carnivore diet.

Self esteem, trying to do the right thing for your body but following incorrect values, a love hate attitude toward most exercise and a mindset that spoke loudly of all my past failings. Thanks for sharing this story, it's been very helpful. I truly appreciate you sharing your road to understanding your own body and getting on track with vitality and health.

I hope some younger people see this story and change their ways while young. I sure wish I had know about Keto when I was young. My story is similar to yours.

Thank you so much for this information (the "TMI" was actually the most helpful for me, but everything was very interesting and educational). I have been Keto since December 2019. with every child I delivered (5 full term deliveries) every time I got my period back after breastfeeding for about 15 months, it got worse and worse. They got longer (up to 6 days) and the first two days are painful enough to force me to lie down several times during the day. Not to mention how heavy they are. I'm still breastfeeding my latest boy, who's just over a year of age now. No period yet but after watching this video I'm really curious to find out if Keto will have a positive impact on that aspect of my body too once I quit nursing. Thank you. Thumb up and subscribed ;-)

Wow! So awesome to have you share the intimate details of your journey. I can especially relate to your experience with “friends” making you feel like shit. I went through the same thing but wasn’t as fortunate as you. Just finished my first week in carnivore. Been doing OMAD keto and once in awhile 3-6 day fasts for the past 3 months - down 50lbs. Feeling I may need a reset in my microbiome, so I decided to see what carnivore can do for me. I miss some of the veggies but daily meat eating is getting easier. Thanks again for sharing.

I'm slowly going carnivore. I've cut sugar since May last year and it feels like I freed myself from a longtime addiction. After that I started eating only wholefoods. Then diminishing the intake of carbs, especially those low on nutrients and finally I'm trying to be in a keto/carnivore but as of right now I'm not worrying if I'm on ketosis or not, just feeling better and slowly losing the extra fat.

I like your videos. Your story is very similar to mine. Nearly step for step. There is one program I’d like to go back and do but just haven’t been ready. It’s a completely alternative therapy by takes a significant amount of time commitment and has been haunting me ever since I partially completed the first step with me son. The woman who runs it did assess my lack of eye teaming which I didn’t really know I had. But the more and more I suffer from cravings, compulsiveness, depression, and relationship problems the more I go back to my assessment at Brain Highways and want to complete the online course. Idk why I’m sharing all this but I feel it has to do with health and may be worth exploring for you and your viewers.
