You're getting faster times than some of the other weapon type speedrunners I follow. Hopefully that's a good sign they buffed the lance and not just a gear mismatch from the demo.

At 1:44 Mr. Crab comes ready to throw down! Great kill! Hoping damage values stays. New switch skills seems a bit lackluster but so much else seems to have been buffed so I'm more hyped for that to be honest ^^
It seems like it's situationally useful against flying enemies, but that's about it. I've tried it out against Malzeno just a little bit (you can jump over his tail stab, for example), but I wasn't successful in getting much mileage out of it compared to Anchor Rage/Spiral Thrust. I might try it out more later, but for now, it seems very niche. The move feels a bit yolo to me with its ending lag, so I'm glad it's not the go-to for DPS.
You could've mounted Malzeno and brought her to area 7 for over 2000 damage with wall banging as there are new mechanics (squids or bugs) on the walls and the water wall itself does 1400 damage alone. Just make sure you have all 3 silk uses ready and bang her in the walls properly. This way you could've also skipped her changing zones and as such, time. Seen a gunlance speedrun do that and save a lot of time. I think with that change alone you can get 1-2 minutes off easy. Good usage of the lance though.

If they would have just left lance as it was in world I wouldn't hate rise as much as I do. But no just right back to the trash handheld version of it that no main ever asked for. And slapping the monsters is a gunlance thing and it's sad to see it here
As far as I can tell in the demo, 3 pokes = 1 slap. Once the game comes out and you have protective polish or something else that helps with sharpness, you should be fine to never use the slap again. It'll be a player choice.

What is that evade you do on the first Malzeno slap of the fight? It’s around 0:53 after the roar
It's the normal shield tackle move. Most people know you can do it forwards, but don't know that you can use it sideways and backwards too!

You just can't match the badassery of blocking any attacks your opponent throws at you. It's so satisfying, and this hunt has fucking tons of it.
