Today's a hurting day No room for anything other than, The sting of failure and regret The season aches to change, But hasn't yet. Patience turning to pain I go back to bed to try and regain, Some sense of being ok So much I want, but can't obtain Holding on to everything you say Cause' your words they paint a picture of me A beautiful one of what I could be If I'd simply learn to shake away the blame You save me from myself You save me from myself I'm sinking and can barely breathe, Cause' the fear takes hold so deep inside me These feelings overwhelming me If only your warmth lasted me all day You save me from myself You save me from myself Today's a hurting day No room for anything other than The sting of failure and regret The season aches to change, But hasn't yet Cause' I'm holding on to everything you say Cause' your words they paint a picture of me A beautiful one of what I could be If I'd simply learn to shake away the blame You save me from myself You save me from myself Today's a hurting day No room for anything other than The sting of failure and regret The season aches to change, But hasn't yet Patience turning to pain I go back to bed to try and regain, Some sense of being ok So much I want, but can't obtain
My wife thought this song sounded alright but hated that they recycled lyrics throughout. I hadn't noticed cuz the song captured me and took me on a journey before words were even important.
Y'all so frequently manage to hit me right where I'm at. I love your lyrics so much. If my husband comes and sees me crying right now, I'll just tell him that Oceans of Slumber released a new single. He'll understand. lol
I wouldn't even dare to dream of such a duo! I love them both! When it comes to heavy sounds, Cammie is the only singer who can challenge Amy Lee when it comes to "producing" goosebumps. Of course, in my humble opinion. Well, maybe only Heike Langhans, too. Of course I know - Lzzy Hale, Maria Brink. They are great! Personally, I really like Courtney LaPlante, as well. Much more can be added. It's a pity Tatiana from Jinjer growls more than sings. With such a voice! Back to Cammie, what captivates me the most apart from the timbre of her voice is the way she modulates it. Those almost elusive two or three seconds of breaking your voice, emphasizing your breath, etc. You just feel soul there. No showing off with technical fireworks. None: "Now I will show you how high I can fly my voice" I really love listening to her. The whole team is doing well, of course. I was just wondering about one little thing. Many times while listening to last year's album I was attacked by immediate associations with Opeth. I am unable to point to specific passages right now. But I remember perfectly my reaction after the first seconds; "Pray for fire". "Harvest" ??? I mean, this girl makes the most important difference there. Please don't get me wrong - I really like this band and appreciate the musicians! Each next album is better than its predecessor. Especially the last album "sat" looped for a long time without letting in anything else. My point is that among all the elements that make up the characteristics of the band, what Cammie contributes primarily determines its recognition and gives it its own, distinctive DNA. (If I can use such a metaphor) I just realized that it could all be written much simpler and faster ... If someone asked me why I regularly, systematically return to listening to Oceans of Slumber, I would reply that I miss Cammie's voice in the first place. I like him so much! Probably, if it was for the music ONLY - some other albums would have called me louder. For example - among the relatively new albums - the first thing I thought about was "Vesica Piscis" by The Odious. The band is amazingly good. But not great, yet. I support them with all my heart and I wish they would one day become great. I need to add two last things: 1. All I have written is my subjective opinion to which I am entitled as long as I do not offend anyone. Even if I don't know much about music. 2. It was the first time that I forced myself to make such a long comment in English, which is not my first language. Therefore, I apologize for any possible mistakes. If I have constructed some non-grammatical nonsense, I would be grateful for pointing out to me.
I went to remind myself Oceans of Slumber a bit (I haven't listened for quite a long time), read what I wrote and need to add a comment to my own comment. I officially say that I was talking rubbish! This is a great band! I do not delete anything, I do not edit anything. I leave it as it is for my own warning. "Think twice before going public, or at least ... sober up a bit"
I think I love this hard country type vibes hard emotional lyrics that are in everyone everyday life I love the dark and light meet in one place in same type of feelings a need. Great job I check out more cause of this.
Is this Mick Moss from Antimatter? I just recently discovered this band, but Antimatter is one of my all time favorites. I couldn't have asked for a better team up.
I have no idea who this dude is, but he matches Cammie's voice pretty damn well. Now I have to go check out everything he's done. This song is amazing as well, but all their stuff is.
I listened to this song in Spotify and instantly Antimatter came to my mind when I listened to the male vocals. Since I didn't see any '.feat' on the title I guessed it was someone from the band but likely the video clip revealed the truth.
Great great song and i was happy to find Mick Moss also. I learned of him from my alltime favorite Aleah Stanbridge and Trees of Eternity. By This songs half way point i had already had in mind who i could dedicate this song. Oceans Of Slumber these releases of yours are adding up in my favorite list, So well done.
