Watching these videos as a Christian makes me feel like I'm a part of something grand and important. They're a refreshing reminder of the significance of Jesus' death and resurrection and the ultimate destiny I have in Christ Jesus. It's important to remember these things, I think, especially in a world that's literally hellbent to lead us astray at every turn.

There is not a need to make a video on Mary.
Jesus is the only way to God.
You are not supposed to pray to Mary, or dead humans, or have graven images that you carry around with you or candles that you light with images on them.
You do not need to ask forgiveness of a man in a booth.
God does not need help listening to or answering prayers.
We are supposed to pray to God in Jesus' name.
In the Bible, even when Mary and Jesus' brothers came to see Him, while He was teaching, and they wanted to talk to Him, He said, Who are my mother and my brethren? Those who do the will of my Father are my mother and my brethren.
Jesus didn't pray to Mary, and no one else should either. God doesn't need dead humans help.

Jesus taught us to pray, Our FATHER who art in Heaven.
In 33 years on this Earth, Jesus never said to pray to Mary for anything.
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except THROUGH ME.
There have been many, many humble servants who have done the will of God, but we don't pray to Moses, have images of Elijah all around our house, or have churches named after Noah.
Mary was a humble servant whose womb was used, she wasn't even a martyr, or an apostle who taught. And there were female judges, and many women who were named in the New Testament as having churches in their homes, and women who were supposes to read scrolls aloud in the church.
But Jesus never said that you needed to pray to anyone except the Father, in Jesus' name.
Mary did not die on the cross for you.

So He sent His son to die for our sins. But He and His son are the same entity, so He sent Himself to earth to die. But He and His son are both the one God and God can't die, so the resurrection was just a magic show. A sort of holy smoke slight of hand to fool people? This is the story you build your life around? Remember when Jesus said "why hast thou forsaken thou?" Or was it "why hast thee forsaken thee?" Because he was addressing Himself by addressing His father. Right?

Great animation but the writing is sloppy in this one.
0:24 "forgiveness for their failures". Failure would imply that people were intending to do the right thing but didn't succeed. The reality is that sinful humanity intends to do evil and succeeds.
3:44 "it takes a transformation of your imagination to see it". I think imagination has connotations of fantasy and make-believe, so it's a poor choice of word when talking about truth. Something like "transformation of your mind to see it" would have been clearer.
Using the word "rebel" to refer to fundamentally different things:
1:11 "called Isreal's leaders a gang of rebels". Actually den of robbers.
1:18 "accused before the Roman authorities of being a rebel king." A political/religious rebel.
2:48 "Israel needed a king who would suffer and die as a rebel on behalf of those who actually are rebels". Those in sinful rebellion against God.

Luke did not use his symbolic way to describe the rise of Jesus to heaven. Actually, Luke had the most exectally description of all events because he was not an eyewitness. He collected the testimony of many eyewitnesses to write his book and Acts book.

There is no way it is just a literary expression as the Bible records angels saying why are you amazed he will do the same when he comes back referring to "coming in the clouds".

Thank you, it took me aback as well. Luke was only recording what he had researched and learned from eyewitnesses. It wasn't a literary technique. It definitely pointed to Daniel's vision of a "Son of Man" coming with the clouds because the Angels said He will return just as he left, but it literally happened.
It continues in Acts I think that is what you are mixing here

But in verse 29, Jesus promises to stay with them that evening (on the road to Emmaus). So why would He suddenly disappear? Unless, He did stay with them ... under the appearance of bread and wine? His essence (who and what He was) remains in the consecrated bread and wine.
The narrators also says (at 4:30) that this is "Luke's way of showing that Jesus has been enthroned." So here's my question: do you believe that Jesus' ascension was an actual event or simply Luke's symbolic way of showing that He was enthroned? Your video seems to suggest the latter ... though maybe I'm reading into your script.

Both phrases are accurate. It was "a couple days later" in our modern use of those words, from Friday to Sunday. In their day, "on the third day," meant counting each portion of a day, so 1) Friday, 2) Saturday, 3) Sunday.
@@mtrudyn Actually, the Friday crucifixion is not correct. I was a Catholic for forty years before I finally came to know God and was born-again last year. If you read scripture and take the Lord at His Word, especially the one sign he said he would give Israel - the sign of Jonah, then it can't have been a Friday crucifixion. There are other supporting details as well. This is an inheritance of Catholic doctrine and not Biblical. The problem arises from the fact that later translators didn't understand that in Jewish tradition (and according to the Tora) that Sabbath's were not just Saturdays but also special feast days as laid out in the Old Testament. They didn't understand that there were actually two Sabbath's in the Passover week. It's more complicated than this, but this was a major misunderstanding.
Jesus was likely crucified on a Wednesday before Passover, Thursday was a Sabbath (a feast day), Friday was in between Sabbath's (the women went to buy spices before the Sabbath - the Saturday Sabbath that is), and Jesus likely rose Saturday evening (no one would have noticed), and then it was discovered Sunday morning that he was risen. The stone was only removed at this point for the sake of the witnesses. It was likely vacated through the night (Jesus could walk through walls after all) and not just moments before the women arrived. This means that Jesus likely died in the year 28 AD or 31 AD, not 33 AD. The 28 AD is actually the most likely and lines up with several other Biblical and historical markers that can trace back to this date.

Quick question: When did people start calling the Resurrection “Easter” and why? I know we have Americanized and materialized all the days that are dedicated to Jesus so I don’t feel comfortable celebrating like many others do. But I’ve heard Easter comes from a Greek god is that true?

Love this, but why the ambiguity at best and totally wrong at worst regarding the days? It is mentioned in the video the women came to the tomb "a couple of days" later. At best this means more than one day, and at worst it means two. When His prophecy is that of Jonah, and He would be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. Also, the various clues throughout scripture that indicate a more precise timing for us to know by scripture. Some of these clues being: the feast of unleavened bread, the passover, the regular weekly sabbath, the special annual passover sabbath, the acquisition and application of oils & spices, etc.... ?

When we try to harmonize the following two Gospel passages, it would seem that despite everything she had witnessed, Mary was unreasonably skeptical of the notion that Jesus had risen from the dead. Yet she is given the evidence necessary for her to believe. Why then can’t skeptics living today be given the evidence necessary for them to believe as well?
Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him! (John 20:1-2)
but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words. When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. (Luke 24:3-9)

One critique I have is that you call the Tanakh the “Jewish” Scriptures even though it does not belong to one tribe (Judah = Jew), it is a Hebrew Scripture (Hebrew = Ivrit; to cross over as a people rather than strictly a language).
That said, however, this is certainly a great thing you guys are doing and I will continue to like and share them. :)
That's a very important insight! We have fallen prey to the way words morph in their meaning over time. Living languages tend to do this. I am thankful that the Bible is written in ancient Hebrew and Koine Greek, neither of which are any longer in use by a population. They remain frozen in time. Children of Israel, sons of Israel, Israelite, etc. were the way the twelve tribes were referred to up until the death of Solomon. When Solomon died and the northern tribes broke away, they became two nations: Israel and Judah. Judah was made up of two tribes, Judah and Benjamin, and Israel was the other ten. That is a generalization, since there was no doubt some mixing of tribes due to marriages and other things and there were Levites living in and around Jerusalem because of the priesthood. The word Jew first appears during the exilic period in the book of Esther. These were the people of the kingdom of Judah that had been taken captive. The northern tribes had already been dispersed by the Assyrians and Israel was no longer a kingdom. Fast forward 500 years and you have the land as part of the Roman Empire, the people of Judah in and around Jerusalem and the southern area, and a strange mix of Gentiles and Israelites that had returned from the Diaspora known as Samaritans. So the New Testament use of the word Jew is a transliteration of Judean and is in distinction to Israel which is now known as Samaria (the former capital of Israel). The modern notion of the word Jew collects all of the people of Israel back into a single group. But that isn't how it is used in our English translation of the Bible. You are quite correct to refer to the Old Testament as the Hebrew Scripture, although that canon is unique to Judah. The Samaritans had altered the Torah and excluded many of the prophets from their canon due the references to Judah as the line of the kings and the Messianic prophecies concerning the offspring of David, both of which were repugnant to them.

Technically, I agree. But the common modern usage does not provide distinction. During the time of Christ, there is no more distinction which land they lived. Luke mentions Anna from Asher, Paul is from Benjamin, Zechariah and the whole priesthood is from Levi. They now all lived in Judea. Your question deserves a response. First, God's wisdom confounds wise and the proud. A great prayer for you to pray would be that you ask God to show you the wisdom of His great salvation. It is deep, profound and awesome.
Second, mankind is in a state of separation from God. God is holy and cannot allow sin into His kingdom. We have all sinned and fall short. Take a look around. Are things getting better in the world? Pray and ask God for discernment.
Third, regarding your question; God sent His Son (only Son) to live amongst us, and then to pay the price of our sins by sacraficing everything for us. He gave His life (in brutal fashion) to save us. By His great love, He served us--and showed us the way.
When someone comes to God and accepts this great gift, God will change this person from the inside-out. This change occurs over the life of the person and it is so miraculous and beautiful. I will truly attest to you, that this loving God is changing the man that us writing this to you. Our love fails, His does not. He is faithful to us when we haven't been faithful to Him.
Last, in the Bible there are many wonderful promises. One is that if you draw close to Him, He will draw close to you.
