I always believed the environment you work in plays a big factor in the way people work and learn. Creating a safe, loving place for the kids can help them feel at home and rely on the teachers for help and guidance.
When I first started I struggled a bit with what the Reggio Emilia approach was, after speaking to some other teachers and watching these videos defiantly helped so much! I LOVE this learning approach and will express to other teachers to use it.
Teaching through the Reggio Emilia approach is the best way to make sure children have endless ways to learn. This video provides amazing ways to become a better teacher and assure happiness for our children. I loved the Provocation portion of the video because I believe that its not only important to supply the materials, but to let the children take the ideas where they want.
This video is so helpful with describing how to implement Reggio! There is so much great information to use in designing your classroom. Documentation is an essential part of the Reggio Approach. This video provides many different ways to provide this documentation that may not be your typical methods. Personally I love using developmental checklists, work samples and photographs, but recordings offer a different type of documentation that may show a different aspect of a child's development! All these ways of documentation is a great way to show and share how with parents the development of their child!
I really liked this video because it gave a lot of great examples of how to implement various things from the Reggio Emilia approach into the classroom. When I walk into any classroom at Little Sunshine's Playhouse and Preschool I can see how inviting and warm each classroom is and the atmosphere of the class feels very conducive to learning. I also loved the self reflective questions for the teachers to ask themselves. By doing this they are more able to meet all of the needs of the children that are in their care and to make the learning experience fun and exciting.
I love how she explained ways of implementing reggio in the infant room. Gave me some ideas for the infant room i work in. Making the room alittle more warming and welcoming is a big thing to me! Thank you for giving us even more ideas for our rooms!!
I loved how they focused on the Reggio approach when it comes to infants in the video. When I first started in the infant room I struggled a bit with implementing the Reggio approach in my lesson plans. This info would have helped me so much!
One of my favorite parts of this video was when she said "process is more important than the product". I feel like this is a very important quote to remember because what the children learned while they were creating is way more important than what their final product looks like.
Thank you so much for this video... I have been teaching kindergarten children for years. But I have no idea about Reggio Emilia approach. I am going to move to my new Kindergarten School and I found out that my new school is using this approach in which I have no idea at all. I am really scared that I might not implement this approach well. Thank you so much for the videos, it really helps me.
We're so glad this video was helpful for you! If there are other questions you have about Reggio, please share and we can create more videos to address those questions.
