Gossip Girl series tribute: Chasing Cars

I started this video a few days before the series finale aired so that I could get it done today. Just trying to sum up the show, or the main events in some way:)
Umm I wish I could say it was a great finale but since they killed my otp it's pretty hard to think clearly. If you've seen my Twitter then you'll know how I feel lol. But I can never rant enough:
People have been telling me since the season 5 finale that it would not end good and by the week the season 6 finale aired pretty much everyone (in the Rufly fandom) was saying so. As the spoilers said only 2 expected couples would make it in the end. I still had hope because who else would Rufus and Lily end up with? Well Lily gets William, the man she married only because her mother told her to, who gave her fake cancer, who slept with her sister who ended up having a kid as a result, who hooked up with Ivy to lie his way back into her life. She apparently didn't think any of that as a big deal and who knows if she ever learned the truth about the last thing. Well she's done some awful stuff herself but still...even Bart would have been more logical. Stephanie Savage called this a "fun, slightly twisted way to end out Lily's romantic story." Fun.
She also said Rufus should be with someone. So apparently they called every guest star who ever shared screen time with him and found Lisa Loeb, the woman who introduces him on the stage in 1x17, most Rufly fans' favorite scene btw. That can never be re-watched now. So she was the love of his life. Makes sense.
Also "Obviously, Rufus and Lily together complicates the Serena and Dan dynamic." Because them having a kid together apparently doesn't. Scott was never mentioned again so I guess they are just pretending he doesn't exist so that there wouldn't be anything weird between Derena.
I truly can't believe they actually broke them up to have Derena happen. And acted like the 20 years didn't count in the end. Or all the promises they made to each other during these seasons. I could go on but there's only so much you can write in a description.
I do believe it would have ended differently with the original writers, they probably wouldn't have felt the need to make this "fun twist" at the end.
I am sad this is all I have to say about GG because I've enjoyed it so much, with its ups and downs. But this finale hit the rock bottom for me.

It's been 6 months and I am missing Gossip Girl too much. It was the best TV show ever. I could relate to them on so many levels. Started watching when I was 17 now I am 22, Living in London, studying in the best fashion school in Europe. Gossip Girl taught me to never give up and I never did.
OMG! I was trying to figure out who was with Rufus!
Lily and Rufus makes me sad because I loved them more than Derena.
I still love the video though and thanks for showing those two together.
I wonder if there is anyone who misses GG more than me😭😭😭😭😭 I don't think it's possible
Really liked the ending of this show, it did sorta make sence dan was gossip girl on some parts, and im very happy he and serena ended up together. But im so sad it even ended, like always when i like a show alot i never want it to end, and when it does it takes months before i get over it, I watch alot of tv shows and 3 shows i miss so much, The O.C witch is alot like Gossip girl actually, Chuck and Gossip girl :) I dont know what i will do when the walking dead ends :(
And yes im a guy, i rewatched The O.C about 10 times, I'm rewatching Gossip Girl atm, some people may say these shows are total chick flicks etc but i just enjoy everything really, action, drama, romantic you name it, i like pretty much everything and im glad i do becuse i have so much too watch and enjoy in my life :)
It is so hard to watch this. It's beautiful yet sad at the same time.

Mai Adylla I don’t understand why so many people think Serena and Nate were so right for each other, they are too much alike and I don’t believe Serena truly loved Nate. Dan and Serena were 100% meant for each other
COMPLETELY AGREE, except the part of jenny and eric because jenny doesn’t deserve eric

Gossip girl was one of those shows that made me 'just forget the world'. When the routine of life was getting too grey it was one of those things I buried myself into for a few hours and for those few hours I was in 'a garden that's bursting into life'.

Yep, my heart is officially dead now. I didn't think I could cry any harder after the finale, but this video did it to me. It is too beautiful for words and perfectly showcases everything the characters have been through. I'm speechless. Amazing, amazing, amazing job!!! (P.S. Even though I'm a Derena fan who definitely didn't want their parents married, I'm still sorry about Rufly. I do think they really are soulmates.)

this is amazing! I loved everything from the final except the rufus and lily not ending up together. It wasn't that bad for derena anymore... they all got used to it, just as we did. Both couples should be together!

I'm already having GG withdrawl.Such a big part of my life for the past six years.
(Part 4) I also really love how you got a little of Vanessa in here even and how you kinda included every main ship and some friendships and stuff too. This just was such a sweet tribute to the show, and I love it because most Gossip Girl videos are not about the sweetness. This just showed a lot of the smiles and the nice moments and I really enjoyed that. ;) It was a wonderful cast vid-included way more characters than most cast vids seem to. Of course Rufus & Lily would often be excluded etc.

(Part 3) I love how uniquely you managed to use this overvidded song! The opening lines especially, "We'll do it all..." etc & the clips you chose... ah I loved this just from the very start. You really paid such a gorgeous tribute to this show. You really did a good job of not focusing too much on any one character but including Nate and Jenny and all of the characters storylines' in great depth and I just love it. The voiceover choices... everything was perfect. Amazing job!! This is so great.

I'm going to pretend the second half of season 5 and season 6 never happened nothing made sense anyway. It's like ggwriters were trying to find every any fuck*ng reasons to break them up because if they were married it was awkward for DS being endgame come on RL had a child together THIS is awkward but they did as if he never existed. RL are soul mate for gosh sake.

Ah I wish I could tell myself that xD I tried to see if the ring on Lily's finger was a new one but it was hard to see lol. I could see this as Lily regretting her decision from the look she gave to Rufus and Lisa, plus when she saw Jenny she basically looked like she about to vomit which was funny.But yeah,going with that...Funnily enough I read a fic 3 years ago that ended with Lily choosing William, regretting her decision, and meeting Rufus at Derena's wedding.And it made me so sad.Oh wow xD
