- Danny Griffin & Abigail Cowen are interviewed for Netflix’s new YA fantasy series Fate: The Winx Saga, based on the Italian cartoon Winx Club by Iginio Straffi. The show stars Abigail Cowen as Bloom, Hannah van der Westhuysen as Stella, Precious Mustapha as Aisha, Eliot Salt as Terra, Elisha Applebaum as Musa, Sadie Soverall as Beatrix, Freddie Thorp as Riven, Danny Griffin as Sky, Theo Graham as Dane and Jacob Dudman as Sam. Eve Best, Robert James-Collier, Josh Cowdery, Alex Macqueen and Eva Birthistle also star. Stefan Pape asks the questions.
Plot: Fate: The Winx Saga follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence. From creator Brian Young (The Vampire Diaries), Fate: The Winx Saga is a live-action reimagining of the Italian cartoon series WINX CLUB by Iginio Straffi.

@@chappellroanplsgotomanilaibeg Iginio Straffi created the og Winx but is also a producer of Fate so it’s really not using its name for clout since he produced both, it’s not like some random person who didn’t have any connection to the first show made it. He just wanted to do a live action one for older audiences. Have a nice day

I’m so obsessed with their series. I absolutely need a season 2. This is legit the most amazing series I have ever seen on netflix in my whole entire life.
At first after watching the trailer everyone’s like, this show’s not what we want, we don’t want this cast and all and now, after watching this show we can all agree its a banger! We love this show!
Umm, not all of us. I think it's a 5/10 by itself I wish they changed the title because the original is about girl power and friendship by these girls are rude to each other and there isn't any actual Wings which makes them humans who have magic and make spells, so they're "good" witches at best not fairy's. Or maybe they could call them faeries instead. Only bloom gets wings at the end and no outfit change. And the outfits are so 🤢which was an iconic thing from the original and Stella wouldn't get caught dead in those outfits. And there are so many good arcs they could have taken but they just said nah let's ignore those 🙄. Like it's a show about teens with powers in a British school. Like it's not Winx club and if the directors agree with this it's an okay show but they said 5hey made it for Winx fans, like they thought getting rid of the Trix and putting them in a fairy would be okay(I actually like Trix but I hate how we won't be getting the Trix sisters because the director said Beatrix was them😭. I have so many other points but to sum it up after 10minutes in I decided to say this has nothing to do with the original and then I was like it's okay. I'm gonna be watching season 2 because I like fantasy shows not because it's based off of Winx cuz in my opinion it's really not.

@@fkso8940 But it's not a Winx remake. They took that world and made it their own. Don't compare it to the cartoon, it never claimed to be it. The show itself does have a few problems, (so does ever othervshow) but not being exactly like the cartoon is not one of them.
@@elvia9947 the director said it was something he wanted to make FOR the Winx club fans. And obviously it's going to be compared to the original. And although I don't like how they removed so many iconic things like techna because she was part of the whole technology world that came with the original and that didn't fit with their "dark" theme. But in saying even without comparing its like a 5/10. And I'm hoping the next season gets better, like it was only 6 episodes. It has a promising story line. The only thing I hope improves with the show is the acting and better writing. Like sure. I don't agree with what they did with all the unnecessary smoking into each other mouths like that bit was for what reason(like corona🤢please social distance😂)? And the actor for riven is meant to be like 16-17 but he look 30. it has potential and Im looking forward to it. I still stand by they shouldn't have named it a Winx saga if it just uses a couple of the names of the characters and only that.
That's not using the world of winx club and making it their own because they don't use like any source material besides the school name and some characters. It's nothing like the original. I get people are like hating on it because they went in with the view that it's gonna be like the original but more adult(which would be dope😌) but I knew going in it's a netflix show so I had low expectations. and If you changed their names and the schools it would have no affiliation with Winx club and no one would even think it's connected to that world. Anywho this is just some Netflix show so let's not get to into it over it. I just didn't like that people where saying that this was a good Winx adaptation show when I have like a deep emotional attachment to the original and it has like nothing to do with it. It's a promising show but I don't affiliate it with the original. Peace out beautiful human🥰

Omg Abbys real personality is so much more like Blooms animated one than the personality they had her portray in the live action wtf. It was honestly making me smile how much of Bloom I got from her real personality for example the bubbly ness and the unsure ness that I got from here

@Elisah I have watched the cartoon and so much of it is really dark as well. Cloud Tower and the dark forest are dark places and terrible things happen. I think the live action has way less action and darkness so far

It's far darker than the cartoon, but if you compare it to TV shows like "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina", Fate looks like Shadowhunters and Charmed.

People are watching it for sure, but I think the problem is a lot of people don't like it and aren't taking it seriously. Like Riverdale for example was based on the comics, but immediately after season 1 came out, people could not stop talking about it. The cast all became super famous and there were many fun interviews/content that was put out, so people really connected to the actors. But because of the pandemic, things are different unfortunately for winx saga. I hope they make improvements to season 2 tho and more people enjoy the show...

Why are people still complaining. I’m glad that they went in a different direction. I definitely don’t wanna see no bubbly tv show with glitter everywhere. It would just be hella cringe. Also the outfits they wore in the tv show wouldn’t work today? Yeah cause I wanna see women wearing a piece of string. That’s gonna make them so comfortable. Grow up. It’s not a remake it’s an adaptation. Inspired by the original show.

I love them
Although it’s very different from the OG cartoon, i still enjoyed it. There is still many things that could’ve gone better like having a more diverse cast in terms of body types and ethnicity. Also the outfits. Also more representation for LGBTQ+ people instead of borderline homophobic jokes and remarks from Riven would be appreciated. I think if netflix decides to make a season two, i’d definitely watch it because the plot was interesting but i really hope they take all the criticism, reviews and recommendations to heart so they can improve the show and be more faithful to the OG cartoon

Tbh the problem IS THAT the writers thought that we, who loved the cartoon, wanted to see an edgy version with darkeness, AND NO I JUST WANTED A TRANSFORMATION OUTIFT, LIKE WHO WANTS TO SEE THE WINX FIGHTING WITH JEANS AND JACKETSPLEASE JUST PLEASE OK IF YOU DONT WANT MAGIC AND GLITTER MAKE STH MODERN NETFLIX IS LIKE SOO RICHH AND THEY DONT EVENNN HIRE SOMEONE TO MAKE TRANSFORMATION OUTFITS. AND HER TRANSFORMATION WAS TRASH CAUSE WHEN SHE TRANSFORMED SHE HAD WINGS THAT LOOKED LIKE HOT FLAMING DORITOS😂😂😂😂

I watched winx as a kid and I grew up I don’t think it would be awesome to watch a series exactly like a cartoon with 19 years old in my back. And a lot of people think the same that’s why fate: the winx saga is getting so much audience.
