At no point in that interview did he ever question himself or his tactics. Puts it all on the players. That tells me everything I need to know. The arrogance of this man is astounding. He is completely obsessed with possession over creating chances, obsessed with the same patterns that have been worked out by the opposition, clearly doesn't spend anywhere near enough time on the training pitch doing defensive work or on set pieces as we are atrocious at both. He consistently plays Stansfield, Willumsson & May out of position, refuses to take Paik off no matter how he's playing (he was dreadful today), keeps picking Laird who's end product is awful, keeps picking Harris who offers absolutely nothing, doesn't bring back Davies who's been excellent, the list goes on. Even waits until the 88th minute to bring Yokoyama on, and then plays him on the wrong side. Getting to the point of no return unless he starts looking at himself and seeing what the vast majority see.

Jay you're easily one of the most positive and optimistic Blues fans out there. I've watched that interview a few times and he looks broken but at no point did he take responsibility for his part for that performance and result. Chris Davies has rightly been praised and given plaudits but he's not immune from criticism when it's informed, balanced and fair. This is his first number one job and you have to admire the man his footballing principles and philosophy but we've been well and truly found out. There's a very clear blueprint to set up and play against Blues. We're in League One and we need to find a way of overcoming the challenges that we're facing. I think we can all agree that some of the football that we're playing is very good, but it's also easy to play against. Teams are getting 9/10 men behind the ball and we're slow and pedestrian in our build up play. We have square pegs in round holes. Lots of possession without enough purpose and end product. It could be argued that he's a bit stubborn as he persists with playing May out of position, not playing Willumsson in his best position and not using the squad well enough. There's no denying that he's a very good manager but in order to become better he needs more adaptable. League One teams are showing us a lot of respect by how they set up, we need to show them more respect by not sticking with Plan A when Plan A is clearly not working. There are players that need to be rested/dropped. Chris Davies has been given a great club to manage. I know we're lucky to have him, but I do think he's luckier to have us. I hope that he makes some changes whilst sticking to his principles and values but with the flexibility to change things up when that's what is needed. I certainly don't think it's time to throw the baby out with the bath water but at the same time, I don't think Chris Davies can afford to carry on doing the sake thing over and over again. 2 points out of 9 isn't a great return and there are a number of sides that are in better form than us. I'm normally very optimistic but I'm feeling that being a little bit eroded away by what I'm seeing and hearing of late. KRO 💙

@@JJOOPPSS I think Mansfield figured us out and Sutton nearly did. Northampton was a fluke result but they had it figured and Shrewsbury had us figured totally
Teams going through a blip at the moment. It’s taken the deserved praise, however it’s how we react through bad spells which make good players/managers so we shall see what the reaction is! I’ve got full confidence we’ll get out of this and get back to top of the league over the next few weeks!
I was working and haven’t seen anything yet, but you’re saying that one of our brightest coaches in the 35 odd years of supporting Blues has got something wrong in the opinion of you? Are you an experienced and highly respected coach yourself? CD never hung any players out there, explained what happened as a team and I’ll guarantee you he’ll be blaming himself at home tonight. Brilliant start to the season, bad result today, we go again. KRO 💙💙💙
@@liamthebarber Is he our brightest coach? He was doing well when his tactics hadn't been worked out but since then he's failed to implement any tactics that breakdown the opposition. Plenty of pretty patterns passing but little of it troubling the opposition. Last few games 80% possession but just 5 shots on target & the opposition nearly match us despite only controlling the ball for 20% of the time. Shrewsbury scored 3 goals from their 4 shots. Great defending from the Blues eh? No wins in three matches only two in the last six. Last match was dreadful draw with near bottom of the league Northampton & today a loss at basement club Shrewsbury.
@@liamthebarberthis is probably the first game I'd target a few more questions at CD. Moved Willumson out right and played Harris in number 10. Stanno hasn't looked effective in the 9 role for a few games now, I'd have picked moving things around to let Alfie have a crack, I was a bit confused why Harris was the one we change things to get into the team. Was hoping for more in his post match but the issues are becoming more obviously systemic and comments are still made on individual games. He's the manager at the end of the day, this is his first test, so it's far too soon to criticise too harshly - but we've beat most top half teams after a great start and now dropping points to bottom half teams. We've officially lost our top spot even with a game and hand and the last 3 or 4 games were the games we really could've got ahead. Ill continue to trust in him though, I think him and the lads will rise to the challenge but at the moment, we are definitely not looking like we're too good for league 1
@liamthebarber I think fans are entitled to an opinion. As long as it's respectful and well informed. Fans do know football too. Your opinion is valid just as much as is the one that is criticising Chris Davies. The fact of the matter is, he picks the team and sets put how he wants the team to play and I think we can all see that possession alone isn't enough to win games. We have the top goal scorer I'm League One being played out of position and we're playing Willumsson out wide instead of number 10. Laird has very poor end product and we can't defend set pieces. Our play is slow, predictable and lacks purpose. Chris Davies deserves criticism just as much as he does the plaudits when it goes well. The reality is our performances haven't been good enough and that's reflected by the very disappointing results. Fans are football people. Some know more than others. I don't think we need to be calling for Chris Davies head but we're more than justified in asking him to do something different both in terms of the team he picks and how we play. If not, we may as well just do without fans!! Win, lose or draw. That's football. Having am opinion and take on the game is all part of the beautiful game. KRO 💙
@@liamthebarber2 points from a possible 9 & you still say it’s a brilliant season? We should be top of the league & flying just like Wycombe are! Look at the money we’ve spent & looks at what the 3 teams above us have spent! We will be lucky to make the playoffs at this rate
His managerial experience is kicking in now 4 games without a win questions will need to be asked was never sure when he was appointed but the money he's been given I don't think its gonna get us out of this division under hus management
Dunno yet, every team have their bad spells and at leat we've been winning games. It's how we go on from here. Obviously it's an absolutely ridiculous defeat, but it's one we're going to have to take on the chin. If they don't come back from this any time soon, then I think we can start questioning the manager
Basic football is not about STATS and NUMBERS. What more proof do you need when we are passing the ball around in NON threatening areas of the football pitch. I agree that playing out from the back and moving the ball around non threatening areas does have its uses, but where are the splitting the defence passes, where is the some one in the middle ,to either take 1 defender on,or just simply, move an opposition player out of his comfort zone to create space. If the focus does not move towards having urgency of getting just outside or inside the penalty area , Chris davies and blues are just going to have to settle for the playoffs. To be fair to The boss, some players are letting him down, and we do have back up in the squad, but like i said earlier, we are not brave enough where it matters, and ultimately that comes down to the Manager This should be a massive wake up call to Chris davies, and hopefully he will seek advice If this club has got premier ambitions, you can not be in denial and hope Leave May as the target man up front stansfield can do the extra work on and off the ball, for obvious reasons Williamson as the attacking midfield player AND THAT IS JUST FOR STARTERS, No panic yet,but judging by how frustrated and dejected Chris davies looks,he has to figure out why we are conceding soft goals ,while dominating possetion
Possession counts for nothing if you can't turn it into an end product which we have shown in the last 3 games that we can't. May at 9 & Willumson 10 please for the love of god.
Dear Chris Davies. Please play Stanno on the left, Alfie May at 9 and Thor at 10. You have the right players, but you’re not playing them in the right positions. It’s not rocket science, sort it out.
Consider the Front line Chris please Willumson as a ten , May 9 and Jay on the left .. It's clear too all fans ... Becasue this ain't firing .. KRO on to the Next game
Score goals...They win games..We're struggling to create decent chances with supposedly the 2 best strikers in the league..I'm sure Cook & Wagner are watching closely..Especially with Mark Robins on the market...
How do you open up a low block? With clever movement to disrupt the backline (which i think is why May plays where he does, but it's not working) and with players taking on and beating a man. If neither Yokoyama nor Hanssen is on the pitch we have no dribblers, and it's very predictable and very pedestrian. Laird aside this is not a quick team without the wingers. We are a midtable team when it comes to chance creation, which is fine if the defence is top drawer. Apparently it isn't when Davies doesn't play. Plan B needed.
This is becoming a worrying pattern. SORT IT OUT Davies! Toothless up front, frail at the back with by far the best squad in the division. We’re still with you.. but only just.
Stansfield on the left may up front Williamson number 10 with Yokoyama on the wing it’s that easy. Oh and no laird for a game or 2 and see how it goes. Dismal performance
To misquote Eric Morcambe we are playing all the right players but not necessarily in the right positions. Play May as striker, Thor behind him as 10 and Stanno can play from right or left side as he is versatile and can get goals and assists and run onto the ball and into space. May is a poacher and that is where he should be and Thor looks best in the 10. Is it basically that CD feels because we spent 15 million he has to play him as striker? Stansfield will still get a good number of goals and assist with May as striker. Stansfield can play in Championship as a striker if we get there but we need goals!
Learning curve for Chris Davies, first big real test of his managerial credentials. Teams have figured out how to stop us from being effective, coupled with injuries to key players who provide pace and directness (Wright and Hansson) means that we are one dimensional and slow at the moment. For the first time this season, Chris Davies subs and positional choices were way off. I think some changes are needed for Tuesday to ensure there is an impact and to let the players know that none of them are irreplaceable and poor and abject performances will not be accepted. Paik, Anderson, Bielek, stansfield, Laird all out for me on Tuesday.
We have been vulnerable all season at the back. 1st it was the keeper which we now sorted. I think we are so focused on pushing forward that we keep leaving way too much space and then we are incapable of getting back to cover. Not sure we have a clue how to resolve it.
We horseshoe the ball in our own half to much and are to slow getting forward. The passing at times was really poor and the team selection has to be questioned.
@@darrenbrown203 Strongly suspect spurs have only let him come if he plays. If he doesn't play, then he'll be hoiked back to spurs. Happens all the time with loanees
Teams have started to figure Birmingham out. I saw against Mansfield in the second half there were times Mansfield tore Birmingham apart and were unlucky not to bag a few more.
We’re in this division because of our defence, simple, let more goals in than you score relegation is the result when are they going to sort this problem out ?
Love the fact that we have got 20,000 fans who know more than the bloke who is a pro with more experience than any of you ! For gods sake they got a new manager who has worked on them for two weeks , they are pro footballers who maybe not as technical as us but it was there cup final ! It happens , sometimes the underdog wins remember the cup final 2011 ? We move on with a lesson learned , oh and by the way the manager didn’t defend the three goals !
4 games without a win and 3 against teams in the bottom 4. Must win game on Tuesday or huge questions need to be asked were 4th all be it with games in hand but the way we’re playing I would rather have the points.
First proper test for the gaffer. I’m not really sure where anyone is playing? Just trying to force everyone in. Klarer and Bielik all over shop today along with laird. The lads at the back also having 100 times more touches of the ball then Stansfield who is being given absolutely nothing, seems like we’re dead set on letting every player touch the ball before we have a shot. Trying to overplay im afraid Weren’t willing to do the hardwork today and didn’t fancy putting the shift in in the conditions. Men vs boys in work rate. Not looking forward to the trip to Cornwall Tuesday. The wheels are well and truly off. KRO

Teams have worked out how to stop us and there's no plan B. Build up is too slow and possession means nothing - it's high because of the tactics the opposition employ, they're happy for us to have the ball and hit on the break. Start the next game 442 with Jukey and two wingers that cross the ball for 45 minutes. Then change completely at H/T, but make the opposition have to think a bit.
Shouldve left the back four alone......Hickman and Davies should not av been left out.....and still need to be more ruthless and quicker goin forward!!!!.... I like u gaffa ....U say all the right things, so I do see the problems.....time to transfer that to game day 🤘
Teams now have us worked out, pack defense hit us on the break and set piece's. Laird annoys me, reminds of Baccuna, likes to do too much, rarely plays a first time ball. We need players who take a man on like Yokahama.
Never doubt Desire over Ability ( as Tom Ross often quoted) Its okay keeping possession but it counts for nothing if the ball does not cross the line. Shrewsbury had the passion for a result. BCFC didnt.
I don’t want things to be going this way. I actually want to remain upbeat but where I think Chris has got to careful is that this was a banana skin in full view and easily foreseeable. He must learn because clearly, and I don’t know the answer, he did get something wrong. The obvious thing is using his squad to mix it up. Everyone has to know their position isn’t a given. And yet there already seem to be too many selection ‘certs’. I hope for the sake of all the fans that are travelling on Tuesday they beat Exeter. But something needs to be different! KRO
This manager reminds me of Gareth Southgate which is very worrying. This has been coming all season all of our wins have been very tight with lots of luck, it's now catching up with us.
What's the point of 80% possession with 5 shots on target. Shrewsbury 20% possession 4 on target.+3 goals. Laird is clueless as a full back. Bielik is NOT NOT a centre half. No point having the ball, change the way you play. Leonard has to start . You had 2 weeks to coach them. Your big possession tactic doesn't work. Early season, keepers were scared to hoof it clear, and caused lots of goals, it doesn't work .
CD's team selection was very predictable and he's had the same issues in recent games with the complete lack of width in attacking areas. Often it's a very slow build up resulting in Cochrane playing in high balls to a fairly short front line with all the opposition players easily set isn't tactical genius. CD needs to own this not the players he got his lineup wrong and the subs made no sense. May deep ? Yoko on in the 88th ? What's the point of having May, Stansfield & Dyke's if there's no width to open up play. I hope CD turns it around but I wouldn't be surprised if keeps doing the same expecting different results. Would he still be in charge at Christmas if he's outside the playoffs. We are 4th as I type this.
Davies, it's your fault mate. Every other club in the league would kill for our squad. You are the one failing to get a tune out of them. Own up and accept responsibility for your own decisions.
2nd string beat them 0-4 need to mix things up , rather than same team sheet every week and ffs play may up front talk about knocking the confidence out of someone kro
It's all very well having masses of possession but a bit pointless when you don't do anything with it. This style of football is not going to get us out of this division.
We had 30 something attempts the last game. It's not how many you have. It's about the quality of the chances created and putting the ball in the back of the net and stopping it going into ours. We're not doing either well enough at the minute. Obviously, that's a very bad combination!! KRO 💙

I completely agree!
@Shazluke. Well said. I think it's coming to light that CD is no where near as good as first thought. Tactically inept.
Nice to see the bed wetting is still high.
His reaction spoke for all us bluenoses, absolutely love davies by far our best signing, we didnt turn up today at all, not one good thing i can pull out, bad day at the office...
BUT we're blues we go again tuesday,
COYBB's KRO UTFB! 🙌🏼💙
KRO 💙
@@richardpincher8936 bang on mate! 100% couldnt agree more, funny enough 5 minutes prior to commenting back i just come off the phone to my dad we both said alot of stuff you mention, some players need to be dropped, we could do with scott wright coming back ideally aswell class player KRO 💙
@Theboyinblue92 I can't wait for Buchanan to come back. I hope he can stay fit. He's our best defender and when not playing at left back to give Cochrane a rest I would play him at centre back. A proper body on the line defend at all costs. He's the type of player that we need. We need more grit and more fight and determination.
KRO 💙
The way we're playing even Man city could beat us at the moment...
It's been coming for a while, we've been tactically found out a few games ago. Need to change it up, especially the backline, who ironically for the squad numbers are all 6's & 7's.
Leonard to start next game too!
@@JJOOPPSS I think Mansfield figured us out and Sutton nearly did. Northampton was a fluke result but they had it figured and Shrewsbury had us figured totally
Play May as a 9 upfront, Stansfield right wing, yokoyama left, Thor in the 10.
Teams going through a blip at the moment. It’s taken the deserved praise, however it’s how we react through bad spells which make good players/managers so we shall see what the reaction is!
I’ve got full confidence we’ll get out of this and get back to top of the league over the next few weeks!
Couldn't agree more. Every team have their bad moments and it's how they react now
What a great post. I’ve just posted and been a bit downcast but I really want to see it your way. KRO
Exactly. Good post.
Looks like a typical Blues manager now 😢KRO 💙
P****D off is an understatement
CD getting it very wrong. Im not pulling any punches, CD is responsible, adjust your line up and strategy and be disappointed in yourself.
More of these games to come Steve Bruce ,Gary Monk wily old foxes verses inexperience ,all will. read the way blues play ,expect the same results KRO
Why TF was May on the bench and not #9 like everyone keeps saying. Ask the difficult questions Blues and put Davies on the spot!
May 9, Thor 10, yoko and Stan on wings.
Basic football is not about STATS and NUMBERS.
What more proof do you need when we are passing the ball around in NON threatening areas of the football pitch.
I agree that playing out from the back and moving the ball around non threatening areas does have its uses,
but where are the splitting the defence passes, where is the some one in the middle ,to either take 1 defender on,or just simply, move an opposition player out of his comfort zone
to create space.
If the focus does not move towards having urgency of getting just outside or inside the penalty area , Chris davies and blues are just going to have to settle for the playoffs.
To be fair to The boss, some players are letting him down, and we do have back up in the squad, but like i said earlier, we are not brave enough where it matters, and ultimately that comes down to the Manager
This should be a massive wake up call to Chris davies, and hopefully he will seek advice
If this club has got premier ambitions, you can not be in denial and hope
Leave May as the target man up front
stansfield can do the extra work on and off the ball, for obvious reasons
Williamson as the attacking midfield player
AND THAT IS JUST FOR STARTERS, No panic yet,but judging by how frustrated and dejected Chris davies looks,he has to figure out why we are conceding soft goals ,while dominating possetion
Wayyyy!! Up the town
❤ UP THE ROYAL BLUES WEE ' R' 4 IN THE LEAGUE KEEP RIGHT ON BEST TIMES TO COME FROM THE ROYAL BLUES 👌 NEW DAYS FOR THE ROYAL BLUES 👍 💯 % BLUES 😉.....
Great points Ben
Time to stop thinking we’re going to piss this league.
Leonard seemed to link the play when he came on and created the chance that got the penalty he needs a run in the team
Looked completely lost first half
We have been vulnerable all season at the back. 1st it was the keeper which we now sorted. I think we are so focused on pushing forward that we keep leaving way too much space and then we are incapable of getting back to cover. Not sure we have a clue how to resolve it.
Didn’t realise he was doing the interview in someone’s house
More like a prison
In the Gents
We horseshoe the ball in our own half to much and are to slow getting forward. The passing at times was really poor and the team selection has to be questioned.
Tgh needs to play rb he’s a lot better defensively then laird and we need Thor 10 and bring in a rw in jan
Pointless possession if its not going anywhere
It's what got LVG sacked by UTD
We've got 30 points 😆🤣🤣
But I know what you mean.

Surprised he started Harris.
95 plus points to get out of league one. Defeats matter, pushes the win rate into increasingly tough territory.
Teams have started to figure Birmingham out. I saw against Mansfield in the second half there were times Mansfield tore Birmingham apart and were unlucky not to bag a few more.
Getting fed up of Davis saying the players are disappointed once again 80% possession and they still dont know what to do with it
5 shots on target and I honestly can’t remember an proper effort piss poor boys KRO
We can't win them all. Onto the next game. We have a brilliant gaffer and brilliant players. KRO
'Yeah you want the games to come thick n fast' Yeah remember you said that because the games you cancelled...we're gonna get um!
We’re in this division because of our defence, simple, let more goals in than you score relegation is the result when are they going to sort this problem out ?
Shocking again drop stansfield put May up front
Omg its not rocket science may is tbe man in this leauge
Love the fact that we have got 20,000 fans who know more than the bloke who is a pro with more experience than any of you ! For gods sake they got a new manager who has worked on them for two weeks , they are pro footballers who maybe not as technical as us but it was there cup final ! It happens , sometimes the underdog wins remember the cup final 2011 ? We move on with a lesson learned , oh and by the way the manager didn’t defend the three goals !
Very different being a number 1 so we'll see what he's made of.
Trying to overplay im afraid
Weren’t willing to do the hardwork today and didn’t fancy putting the shift in in the conditions. Men vs boys in work rate.
Not looking forward to the trip to Cornwall Tuesday.
The wheels are well and truly off.

Cracking sun tan at least. Shame he couldn’t be bothered with turning up at the open house event.

We're sending out a negative team and not on the front foot we need to be more attacking with players that score goals
Paik was atrocious today and has offered very little recently . Iwatta wasn’t much better, but offers goals. I’d start Leonard and see what he can do
Doesn't help he's been away on international duty so good shout for Leonard to come in and see what he can do
KRO 💙 we're the Blues and never make things easy
Wrong
Teams have worked out how to stop us and there's no plan B. Build up is too slow and possession means nothing - it's high because of the tactics the opposition employ, they're happy for us to have the ball and hit on the break. Start the next game 442 with Jukey and two wingers that cross the ball for 45 minutes. Then change completely at H/T, but make the opposition have to think a bit.
Lose Tuesday and it’s gonna be a tougher season then we thought
The managers lack of ability is now showing
As a blues fan, not happy one bit. Lads get your selves together. And quick. KRO
May 9 willumson 10 Stan on the right
Never doubt Desire over Ability ( as Tom Ross often quoted) Its okay keeping possession but it counts for nothing if the ball does not cross the line. Shrewsbury had the passion for a result. BCFC didnt.
Klarer has great qualities, but the reason he is not in the Austria squad is his lack of pace.
100% behind you gaffa but sort that defence out. KRO
Chris Davies
Congrats on matchfixing
PAIK DOESN'T LIKE RAIN.
Quantity over quality today, poor defending and lack of quality going forward
Oh dear, it’s going to rat s**t. Two weeks on the training ground after the disappointment of the last game to serve that up !!
So Stansfield
He's gonna get such a bollocking from delta airlines.
It's all very well having masses of possession but a bit pointless when you don't do anything with it. This style of football is not going to get us out of this division.
Pointless having the ball if you have 10 shots
We had 30 something attempts the last game. It's not how many you have. It's about the quality of the chances created and putting the ball in the back of the net and stopping it going into ours. We're not doing either well enough at the minute. Obviously, that's a very bad combination!!
KRO 💙
It's just frustrating being a blue nose sometimes haha
How to bottle the league.. massive favs to win it outright...
Congrats to whycombe to winning easy $10 winner
What has happened with Blues results wise recently , make Kristian Bieliks Ill judged comments a few weeks ago . Seen rather ridiculous to be honest . League one is a tough league to get out of & it’s not gonna be won with pretty , pretty football . Alfie May should not be on the bench . He should be in from the start every game . Always got a goal in him . Blues sadly have been found out somewhat. Need to improve .
Losing to the bottom team...shocking!
Look at our form over the last 7 games...the new manager bounce has stopped bouncing...KRO
You have no right to think you can go or come to Shrewsbury and think you should win. You were beat by the better team...
You have to be honest with yourself - The better team lost. It happens. New manager effect is a real phenomenon, especially in demoralised teams struggling at the bottom of the league.
Mate , stop this passing from defence again and again, we barley moved forward. It looks nice stats wise with 80 percent of the ball but we can't defend , the keeper was shocking
Drop Beilik. Play May as a 9. Stanno on right. Drop Keshi. Play Buchanan there if you don't trust Yokohamo
