Yet in these examples, Konnichiwa is demonstrated to have an "m" sound. The speaker even has the closed lips of an "m" as opposed to an open lipped "n". This also happens with sumimasen where the "n" is pronounced as an "m". Is this an accent or is this normal?
It'd be cool if the words were also written in Kanji. My main objective is being able to read in Japanese and only knowing kana writing doesn't help much after a certain point.

は is hiragana for ha, but when used as a topic particle like in those phrases you saw, it is pronounced as wa.
