When I was a little kid, I never had the courage to ride this but always saw this coaster in action. My dad was the only family member to ride this and he enjoyed it. If he was still with us and in good health, I'd jump on the first car and have my dad ride along
@@thighcrush3640 Gotta go the right day, I guess. Maybe with Knott's Scary Farm at night right now, it's slower during the day? But there were no lines for anything but the kids rides. Went on Xcellerator 4 times and Ghostrider 3 times. Montezooma's was really slow today, like I said, we didn't even have to leave the platform and go back around, just got right back on.

the front row will always leave you hanging for a few seconds at the summit of a drop before letting you go, thus limiting that "dropping feeling" in your stomach. therefore if you're a newbie or rookie coaster rider with some fear, the first few rows will always feel much better than the back. the back, however, will actually yank you from must bunny hills and initial drops, giving you what's called "ejector airtime." this is why most hardcore enthusiasts prefer the back few rows to the front. each ride has it's own elements. if you're starting out, always ask the station attendants on where the least intense rows are located. granted.... and always remember.... sometimes a ride intensity is just an 7-10, and it doesn't matter where you sit (i.e., Xelerator and Hangtime at Knotts, or Goliath, X2 and Full Throttle at Six Flags). so ride at your own bravery, lol.

I loved riding this thing at night. Whenever the operator called out “clear dispatch!” The lights in the building would go dim and then all that noise. Good memories 😊
Damn, childhood memories! Waiting 40 minutes to get on it... last second throwing the Raiders hat to the side so you didnt lose it... getting your head beat up going back through the loop... .... then sprinting to get back in line right after. Miss those days
Awesome coaster! Its just like the defunct Tidal Wave at Great America which I rode many times. I've only ridden Montezumas Revenge once whenI was a kid back in 92. Hope to ride it once again when I go back to Knotts in 2 weeks! Thanks for posting👍
My first looping coaster. If you're a kid in SoCal this is your right of passage ride; to show you've graduated from Camp Snoopy rides. It's also the easiest to build in Rollercoaster Tycoon lol
It launches forward, does the loop, goes up, goes backwards, does the loop, passes through the station, goes up the other end, goes forward & stops at the station. In Rollercoaster Tycoon this would be "Powered Launch (Passing Station)" mode.
Classic ride. Rode this today along with silver bullet and some others. Sadly, once I started walking to go ride xcelerator I had an intense headache come on so I had to stop early :(
For some reason, I remember this ride lasting longer back in the day. Granted, I'm talking way back in like 1992, but I remember the ride doing 2-3 back and forths on the track instead of just 1.
I would go on Knott's in October, but COVID-19 interrupted it, and I am from Brazil. So I'll go there more probably in October 2021 due to I'm going there for my birthday.
It's the same model as the one that was at Astroworld. If I remember correctly, the former Astroworld maintenance guy use to work on this onw after Astroworld closed.
@@ThemeParkPOV wow thanks for that piece of information...I'll be there in September and will reminisce of greezed lightning..thanks for the great videos man..I'm a big fan..
Can’t believe they are tearing this apart and redoing it with awful new restraints on the new trains and an awful name. They shouldn’t have messed with it. It was my favorite shuttle coaster with the cool original trains, flywheel launch, amazing forces through the loop and that awesome deep and mysterious announcer safety voice. I would understand if they only changed it to an LSM launch like Psyche Underground but completely changing the track with new trains and a new name isn’t good or what most enthusiasts want. Shame on Knott’s and Cedar Fair for ruining the last flywheel launch Schwarzkopf shuttle loop in America.
In our contry, we have the same coaster, but here the theme is sooooo much better, and it's beautiful! We called Katapul, this is in Hopi Hari, State Of São Paulo, Brazil!
