This has got to be the best reaction video to NCT DREAM’s Candy 🥺 I feel that those who have listened to HOT’s Candy and loved the group back then would definitely be able to appreciate this modern rendition by NCT DREAM. Kenzie really did such a wonderful job at rearranging this song to make it sound more modern, and NCT DREAM is just the most suitable group to be doing this remake. NCT DREAM’s youthful vibes and talents really did this song justice. I couldn’t stop smiling while watching the MV! Cuteness overload 😍 I totally appreciate how you guys were vibing to the song and genuinely enjoying it 🥺 It’s exciting to watch you point out the things you like about this MV/song. The Dreamies did an excellent job with this remake, hitting the perfect balance of updating the song to make it their own as well as honoring just how iconic Candy is. I love, love, love how they kept all the original lyrics, most of the original choreography, and most of the outfits as well. I'm not Korean like you guys, but in the late 90s and early 00s, a Korean family lived next door to us and I befriended their daughter who was my age. She was a huge H.O.T fan while I was a Backstreet Boys fan. We bonded over our mutual preteen love for boybands. Her relatives in Seoul would send her VHS tapes of music shows and she'd show me H.O.T's performances. So yes, I feel all the nostalgia watching this Candy now. :)
What I love about candy dream version is the chorus…in original hot, the chorus which is the killing part is a solo part right?Tony’s part. But in this, all dreamies sang it. i mean, NCT Dream have the BEST group harmonization. It always gave nostalgic vibe- listen to My Youth, On the way..so in this song, when all of them sang the chorus, maybe that’s what gave it a nostalgic and 90s vibe…..

And abt the song, i knew it existed but didnt really watch or listen to it cuz i started being a kpop stan in 2017 and i'm indian (kpop became a thing in india recently), but when dream announced the winter album I did check the original and immediately knew that this song was perfect for Dream.. SM vocal techniques or vocals in general is so unique that only sm artists can cover another sm artist's song flawlessly.. This was a perfect year end gift for nctzen and h.o.t fans (i hope)...

Well they weren’t idols. They were more of a rap group. They did however influence h.o.t. But h.o.t was the first group to be introduced as idols. Even k tv shows will say “Wonjo idol” which means original idol.
It was perfect for NCT Dream to do the remake. It fits them perfectly. So happy for the remake. I listen to Candy every day!
