Blue Mesa Reservoir is one of the most important Kokanee fisheries on the western slope in Colorado. Not only does this reservoir provide one of the most reliable quality Kokanee fisheries but this lakes Kokanee run helps stock over 60% of the Kokanee fisheries in the state of Colorado. This lake is special to me as its the first place I came into contact with Kokanee a long time ago.
