U2 "Where the Streets Have no Name" is a must. The energy of this song is amazing...especially live! You must check out some of their live performances.
Joshua Tree is what made them big, but Achtung Baby (you've heard One from that one) is outstanding. It's dark, moody and absolutely amazing! Every song a masterpiece. You must hear it. Once you get JT and a song or two more from Achtung Baby, you MUST watch a ZooTV performance. U2 cannot be beat live. I've seen them and hear it over and over again. They are so very much better live. Their front man has a natural charisma and desire to connect with their audience. It's electrifying to watch them live.. And ZooTV is a concert people would give up every other concert they've ever seen to have seen that on. Regarding them not doing the big bombastic songs or guitar solos, no they aren't that kind of band, but they have some rockers for sure! They are known as an arena rock band, post punk too at times. Love Is Blindness from AB has a killer guitar solo. If you're going to do the rest of Joshua Tree, all but one song on there is this type, just so you know. You have to listen to Achtung Baby to get something completely different. Just remember how you felt about One and imagine it turned up to 10 with songs like Zoo Station and more. Trust me, you will not regret it! ;)
Their lyrics are what drive their popularity... What is sad is so many just look for a straight and narrow meaning and miss so much of what makes U2 truly inspiring...
They made a documentary film in about 1987, or 1988, called “rattle & hum” & they did this song with some acoustic instruments & a gospel choir....it was pretty f’n bad a$$
For a more rocking changeup check out U2's New Years Day. For a funkier sound check out Pride (In the Name of Love) and for a dance cut check out Night and Day. Others to react to: Vertigo, Zoo Station, Ultraviolet (Light My Way), The Fly, Discotheque, So Cruel, Every Breaking Wave, California, I can go on and on!
Please do Where The Streets Have No Name. It's the first song on the Joshua Tree album. But, I'd recommend the live version from their movie Rattle and Hum. ♪ ♫
Really happy to see you're enjoying U2, they tend to get ripped on for the Apple fiasco but they're a talented band with some incredible tunes. If you're looking to see the range of stuff they can do, try some of their harder, earlier tracks like SUNDAY, BLOODY SUNDAY, and NEW YEAR'S DAY. You've covered tracks from Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum, but some of their later tracks shows the different genres they've embraced: MYSTERIOUS WAYS, THE FLY, VERTIGO.
Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton are an absolutely top-notch rhythm section. Their songs just wouldn't work (especially Edge's rhythmic atmospherics) without them
This is a great road trip song. In fact, the trio of "The Unforgettable Fire", "The Joshua Tree" and "Rattle and Hum" would be my ultimate road trip playlist. I could listen to those three albums on loop for days.
Just in case nobody else will tell you, theres only 11 songs on The Joshua Tree, what you're playing is the Super Deluxe reissue with tons of bonus content.
Silas, you _GOTTA_ do "Frankenstein" by the Edgar Winter Group. My all time favorite song. You'll love it! 😀 The first rock instrumental to make it to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
This is (or at least was for me, back in the day) the best song to test a car stereo. If it produce the rich, clear, loud bass that you could feel in your chest, its a winner. Headphones are great, but this song should be heard on really loud speakers so it can be felt as much as heard. IMHO.
grade school was 83-87 for me. This album was everywhere. Love it. Such a great band. This song kicks ass. That is all. lol Enjoy your journey of great music man! Keep up the vids!
I'ma be honest... U2 is, like, one of my favorite bands, but I've just never been a big fan of this song. I dunno, it just kinda "exists" for me:; in one ear and out the other lol Anyway, just wanna say I love your channel--your reactions to some of the standup stuff introduced me to new comedians! As for more U2 stuff, you just gotta listen to Sunday Bloody Sunday (the most popular video is probably their live Red Rocks performance; the song is just punchier live)... Guess that about wraps things up--keep doin' your thing, man
Most definitely check out Pride (In The Name Of Love) by U2. A definite must. Saw them in concert back in Los Angeles in the '90's. One of the best bands ever.
I am 54, lived in Europe and the U.S., lived all over the U.S. (the only state I have not spent time in is Hawaii) and I still haven't found what I am looking for... Peace to you young man... Check out the song "Bad"
I mentioned this in a comment on another video, but just to make sure... There are 11 tracks on The Joshua Tree. Anything beyond that is supplemental stuff they've added to "box sets" or whatever over the years. WHICH IS GREAT... but if you want to react to The Joshua Tree... go on the ride we all went on in 1987, just look up what the original track list and listen to those 11. And when you do, keep in mind, they came out of the gate with With Or Without You. That was the first single. And it was GREAT! Then the album was released. And we bought it. And took it home... ...and experienced Where the Streets Have No Name!!! And, of course, everything that followed it! But MY GOD! What an opener!!! (Speaking of tracks that blow you away!) Yes! Do the album!
The U2 guitarist is not a virtuoso, he is more of a rhythm guitarist. I think "Red Hill Mining Town" is one of the strongest songs on the album. If you want to do more Fleetwood Mac, I suggest the "Tango In The Night" album.
Hahaha...I actually disagree...Edge is responsible for some of the most dynamic, unforgettable and original sounds in the guitar world. I don't know any higher compliment for a musician than to have a catalogue of performance like The Edge has behind him. (added for context, my second favorite guitarist for the same reasons is Lindsey Buckingham. My third is Blixa Bargeld...who does nothing else but makes a guitar go 'Kkkrraanngggg!!! with his bare fingers like no one else. Hahaha!
Nice shirt Silas...this song is one of my favs from U2...the video for it is great too, was hoping you'd view the video. I'm guessing you're not doing the videos cause they'll get blocked if you don't pause at least once Just saying though, all 80's and early 90's music have videos because of MTV..back when they actually played music videos 24/7. A bands video was nearly as important as the song itself at one time !!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do a deep cut from the "War" album: "Drowning Man". Thank you! For live, do "I Will Follow" from the Red Rocks "Under a Blood Red Sky" live album. Also, "Gloria" from the "October" album.
Sometimes something as simple as a warn air breeze and a happy moment can give you the same as this song. I might and will probably be made into something I am not because i speak out. I appreciate you listening to this music. I would appreciate if you donated some time to understand how music came to all of us over the many and yes, many centuries. Love and respect is speacial and it is more than what we give each other face to face. History matters but it is up to each and every one of us to know things if or when it isn't given to us. Being honest, nothing is ever given to us whithout a purpose. just sayin'. It is what it is.
Day one of asking for "Pisces - by Jinjer". The live session if you would. Don't look up anything by this band, it'll be much better for you to just experience it first hand without any knowledge.
Once you grow up, you stop looking and become the one you've been looking for. i can relate to the song...
U2 "Where the Streets Have no Name" is a must. The energy of this song is amazing...especially live! You must check out some of their live performances.
Absolutely! I love the one from 'Rattle and Hum'
Definitely do the version from their Rattle and Hum movie. Goosebumps.
Such a beautiful song!! Yea, I am spending the night with you Silas!! Your smile is infectious!!!
U2 "Sunday Bloody Sunday" Live At Red Rocks Video..A MUST SEE/HEAR..TRUTH!!
Pretty much every song of this album became a number one hit.
Keep in mind Bono wrote this as a gospel song. The lyrics will make a lot more sense if sung in a church :)
Where The Streets Have No Name is probably their strongest song imo.
Sunday Bloody Sunday, and, New Year's Day, to get a taste of their earlier stuff, with quite a bit of energy.

Live U2 is always the answer.
God, i miss the 80's
U2 is more about mood and lyrics than smoking hot guitar lines, though occasionally, The Edge breaks out some pretty intense stuff.
You bet he does - Love Is Blindnes, ZooTV

Sweet shirt! The live version of "Bullet The Blue Sky" from "Rattle And Hum" is worthy.
U2..Where the Streets have No Name.....vevo
Keep up the GREAT reactions, Silas!
Great channel my Man!
Watch "Where the streets have no name" music video.
And also watch
U2 "Bad" at Live Aid 85.

And give his brother Johnny a try, too. He's a guitar god.
I've got to recommend "Bad" again. I prefer the Wide Awake in America album version but a lot of folks will recommend the one from Live Aid.

“Sunday, Bloody Sunday” great song.
I need to get a T-Shirt like that. You should hear Fleetwood Mac's Gypsy---with music video!!
Great album. Live version of this song from Rattle and Hum.
U2 was a spiritual experience for me. Unforgettable Fire was my religion in high school. Wonderful memories.
The original 1987 version of the album is 10 songs. Pure perfection.
"bullet the blue sky" "until the end of the world" and "exit"
and Love Is blindness

"Fun fact" The original song was recorded half step note higher but Daniel Lanois (producer) turned half down in the final record.
Gotta do All I Want Is You/Where the Streets Have No Name live from Slane Castle
U2 and Green Day performing The Saints Are Coming live at the reopening of the Superdome in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina next please.

U2 remains among my favorite bands, still together after 53 years. Lots of albums and vids
Another of those albums that was every popular for. testing the sound quality of a new stereo system! 😊
Love the Fleetwood Mac shirt!
Commit to the whole Joshua Tree album! GOAT!
🎸💯 U2's "Joshua Tree" is excellent‼🔥
