Independent laboratory tests of one batch of castor oil from two leading brands showed that JBCO has .014% lower water content than HBCO and 10.27 higher saponification value, suggesting that JBCO is suited to soap-making. HBCO on the other hand, has 2.04% more ricinoleic acid and 3.27 more cenitgrams of Iodine per gram (an indicator of fatty acid saturation) suggesting it is ideal for hair and skin. That was one of the moments in the video where I’m glad I didn’t have a beverage.
Sis yes. We Haitians keep it in stock at all times and use it for literally everything. For colds, broken bones, headaches, incurable diseases etc lmao
😩😩😩
@@SheReaDelSol 😂😂😂
Yes everytime my parents go to Haiti I order the one made by villagers is even better
Facts. You can’t pass an exam? Rub some on your scalp to penetrate your brain. 🤣🤣🤣
At this point I think we can use it to resurrect the dead 💀🤣
We use Haitian black castor oil for everything since we were babies. When I go home I always bring 2-3 quart bottles back to the states. I love my Lwil Maskriti.❤
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Yes!!! Lwil maskreti is used for everything and it is the best castor oil for me. It is so thick 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹
Shout out to the HBCO. I grew up on it and Order mine from Etsy. It actually provides more growth and is more Potent than Jamaican Castor Oil.
@@naturalkinkycurlymarie7496 What brand is it?
Girl us Haitian use Haitian castor for everything (for skin, we rub it on us when we are sick). Unfortunately for my hair it’s to thick but in every Haitian household there no way you won’t find castor oil that we call palma Christi oil. I love kreyol essence find a way to market it.
I prefer neges banda
@@SheReaDelSol that's interesting! Because of price or performance or just overall?
I'm from Martinique, we call it lwil Maskriti, my grand mother use to do it, I use or since my newborn stage. I tried the Jamaican Black Castor oil and I don't like it.
This is so true I have a whole plastic bottle in my room and just have it there
Hi SheRea, I am from Jamaica and Sunny Isle is just one brand of Black Castor oil and is the one exported to the US and elsewhere. There are others I have always bought in Jamaica and used which are much darker and thicker like a syrup and have a stronger smell which disappears as the days go by and they are excellent and make the hair soft and the scalp moisturized. My wash and gos and twists lasts 2 weeks without refreshing and detangling is a breeze. Haitian Castor oil is also excellent and slept on.
I agree the pure one in a rum bottle from Jamaica is 100% key. If you see the pure one from Jamaica it’s very strong and thick and sticky. The one o have is darker than that Haitian one. I’ll stick to my Jamaica castor oil from my hometown people.
Send me some 😩😩
@@SheReaDelSol I stock up every time I go home. Since the pandemic hit I have been using my stock sparingly:)
@@colourmebadd9010 Exactly. The one made for export is watered down so I only use the ones made for the Jamaican market.
@@SheReaDelSol that's the one I have, in the rum bottle. The imported is diluted and watery.
We make and use castor oil in st. Lucia since before Christ was born. Ours is thick and black just like the Haitian one. It makes our hair thick and soft. It grows the hair as well
Send me some lol
@@SheReaDelSol will be my pleasure
St. Lucia!!!
send me some too
Yes big up at Lucia hall in half at Lucia and half Jamaican love my mix
🇭🇹 love me some Haitian black castor oil AND Jamaican Black Castor oil. I use them both, love them both. However because Haitian BCO has bit more nutrients as ricenoleic acid I tend use it more on my scalp. Jamaican BCO on my hair strands with HBCO on the ends. I’m Haitian but I love anything everything Caribbean, West Indian especially African. I researched castor oil a while back and found the same info. I also found out Castor oil is something we have used for centuries in Africa.
Castor oil is so bomb
I love this purple background for you, I love how your hair was glowing purple after unravelling 😍. HBCO definitely looked better, it's a shame we don't get the good good real no filter JBCO imported, most COs seem to be made similarly around the Caribbean.
I need to go to some Caribbean islands for the real stuff.
This is right in time as I just ordered HBCO. Keep it coming sis!
Aww thanks for watching love
I’m so glad you made this video. You put me on to the HBCO a while back and I’m in LOVE! Yes it’s pricey and at first I was like 👀👀. But once I tried it I haven’t looked back since. It is amazing for my HiPo hair. I can’t thank you enough for the recommendation.
You are so welcome!
Yes please do a comparison video. I have the kreyol essence HBCO in lavender and I love it so far. They were just on QVC yesterday as well! 🇭🇹🇭🇹
Thanks for watching.
Nice video! For JBCO, it depends on the brand and how long the beans were roasted. Although it's not a huge difference in look, I like the HBCO side better. Peace and Blessings!❤️
I love it. Creative and informative. This is why I will continue to watch your videos when I get locs. I will try It when I’m done using the Kreyol essence.❤️
Thanks for watching love
I’ve been looking into HBCO and since you put me on to lotta body mousse I trust you with this🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾
No problem!
The castor oil made locally the Caribbean ( Saint Lucia) is sooooo different from these bottles. It's thicccckkkk and dark. So much strong and more effective. The smell is so rich. I wish everyone had the option to get it.
That is so true....I get mines from Dominica and it's much more thicker and darker than those they sell in the stores.
I have seen a transludent one
I gotta get some from Saint Lucia!
Yess the one in Dominica is very thick and dark. I love the smell☺️
Great video and thank you for this information!!
Thanks for watching hon
I been wanting for this video!!!!! Thank you 🙏🏼
Hope you like it!
@@SheReaDelSol definitely did!! I already got the Kreyòl Essence HBCO because of you, loved it. Now I can’t wait to finished it and try the Negev Banda BCO
Perfect timing as I literally just bought some on Monday 🤩
It’s so damn good
Yessss HAITIAN castor oil is absolutely amazing! I know it doesn’t make sense, but my scalp never could stand JBCO. I use Kreyol essence Haitian black castor oil, the rosemary mint one. It’s HOLY GRAIL status and you know I never thought I would say that about an oil.
Love that for you.
2 years later I’m commenting as a child of the Jamaican diaspora. I am a lover of black castor oil for every part of my body. I agree with those who have commented and said the JBCO comes from various manufacturers/outlets and there are marked differences between their results. From experience there are some that I wouldn’t buy again! I never knew about HBCO. I don’t see much difference between sides tbh in your video. Very informative. I might just splash out and try some HBCO. Your results over all were very pretty. Thank you ❤
Hey boo ❤️. Love me a good comparison video. First time I heard of Haitian Black castor oil is from your channel. Def have to try it out now!
I love them too!! Thanks for watching girl. Tell bae to send us some!
I’ve been waiting for this video 🙌🏾 I’ve had the Kreyol Essence Haitian Black Castor Oil sitting in my Ulta cart for a couple weeks just waiting to see what you have to say 😂
Go with neges banda, I prefer it although it’s a bit pricier
I found Heritage HBCO at Ulta for 16$/8 oz. @ Ulta! Is that legit or shady? Anyone tried this castor oil? 🤔
This tie dye shirt is giving me all the feels! nostalgia on 100! love it!
😂😂
That oil is for real.love it. I love the way you compare them SheRea

Yes we are here 😀🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹
Haitian all day 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹 the funny thing growing up, we never used it for hair really. Mostly for skin and my chest colds. Now I use it for my hair and it does wonders. There are brands that are much cheaper. I just have family bring me back some from Haiti or the stores in Florida
Thanks for watching!
what brand do you trust in florida?
@@delucastudios3097 I just went to some Haitian stores in Florida that had it. Not sure what brands

Thank you! I live in Florida and will look for a Haitian store.
sis....your braids of proof of how healthy your hair is, whew
Ayeeeeeee
I always have my HBCO in stock to last a year. I use on my hair, my skin, to rub my chest when I have a cold. If you want your face to look radiant in the morning, wash your face at night and apply the HBCO, no night cream needed, just that. It's a miracle.
where can I get the one you use?
Thank you for your honesty. That's what we want.
That cut screen when you mentioned the price took me out!!! Lmao!!!!
LOL!
Yeahhh it is expensive but it is very good.
Loved the editing on this one! I felt like i was watching Chopped or something! 🤣

Hope you enjoyed it!
@@SheReaDelSolI've been wanting to know how these two compare for ages! I always enjoy your videos 😁
Thanks love
I love Kreyol Essence Haitian oil. I’m going to have to try this one too!
Yess. I've been buying their products since they have been on shark tank.
I use mango and lime original castor oil on my brows and I haven't noticed any new hairs sprouting up but instead, the existing ones are growing longer. It's weird my brows look longer not thicker. I use a brow brush to brush them into shape. And I'm loving it!
Amazing!
Your hair is growing. It’s beautiful 🤩
Thank you@
I love this "is this your final answer music" 🤭😂

Hair looks great. To me Haitian side looked more voluminous. Also loved the mission impossible sound effects while braiding.

Girl you looking extra cute and bright in this video. Your skin is radiating. I kept thinking wow her skin is glowing, what is she doing different? 🤔 Hook a sister up. That's that NJ life! 🤣🤣🤣 Keep it up girl.
LOL LOL!!
I go back and forth using both lol the JBCO that I use is from Rooted Treasure and it’s a little pricey but is bomb! It’s super thick, dark, and smelly lol great video
I’ll have to try that brand of HBCO
Definitely
I switched to HBCO after you used it in a video the 1st time, and it's been the 🐐 when it cones to castor oil, hands down! Once I use my homemade leave-in conditioner and seal it all up with my HBCO...moisture from one wash day to the next!!! I'm never going back and I tell everyone about it now, too. The scent on both bother me, but I've learned to deal with it lol. I do add a few drops of lavender and peppermint into the bottle when I get it and keep pushing. I think it's helped with length retention more than anything because I believe in that #BonnetLife, especially since we're still in this pandemonium lol. I'm not going anywhere, so I keep my hair protected to keep my hands out of it. I've had to put on an extra pillowcase for a few days after wash day because I'm heavy handed with all my products. But it's allowed me to skip the butter/cream after washing and anything that allows me to finish up faster, I'm with it. So thanks again for the bomb product recommendation, babes!💗💗💗
Always welcome! Definitely try the neges banda brand if you ever get a chance. I feel the difference
@@SheReaDelSol i surely will. That'll be on my list of products to get next month.
Awesome break down! The HBCO side is slightly less frizzy than the JBCO.
Thanks for putting me on to something new. I will try it.
You are welcome!
Great vid. Would love an update after a few months of use or challenge if possible!
🙏🏾🙏🏾
A challenge sounds awesome!
You're hair is gorgeous great video I have used both oils and they are good
i LOVE the way hbco makes my hair feel. i also feel like i don't have to use as much to get the results i want 😚
That’s also true
I am a Jamaican and I have to say it all depends on the JBC you buying. If you get it from the women and men directly from Jamaica, or from a brand that is pure pure it is just as thick, blackand smells as bad. Sometimes brands that mass produce JBC don’t give the pure pure. Both oils are pretty much the same for me.
Thanks for that insight.
I'm here for the hair growth challenge 😊
Okie!
I recently switched to the Haitian one back in Feb, I can feel the difference
Definitely!
I’m in love with your sweater and your earrings 💖
Thank youuuu
I agree that Hbco looks so much better it does look more hydrated than the Jbco. Ok now changing the game sis 🤭🤗

I'm Jamaican and my uncle makes the black castor oil so I use that whenever I can. I don't have access to the HBCO..anything for hair growth dwl..
😂😂😂
Just so u know that is not Jamaican castor oil , that is made in USA .. i only get original castor oil when I travel to Jamaican .
Both sides did look the same. I'm wanting to try the HBCO tho. Thank you for this!
Right. It comes down to feeling
Luv both sides .. your hair looks really nice 💕🥰.. my girl Viola face was priceless 🤣🤣..

I'm going to try it, and I just ordered it.
Hope you love it.
TFS Guess I missed something didn't see on the description . What did you use to hydration. Got the name of the HBCO covered Thank you
I didn't love the leave in so I didn't mention it.
Thanks for the information....
Always welcome love
It's the lighting for me... stunning. Obviously the content stays being top class. #SephoraSquad needs you!
Awww thanks boo!
I ordered jamekya castor oil from Jamaica it's totally different to the ones you get at the beauty stores. It's very dark, thick and smells different. You should try it.
I was looking at that one. the price.. but I guess I got to bite the bullet
Both sides looked really amazing ❤️ Here's me still trying to wean off the JBCO (I'm being biased 😂💔🇯🇲) Definitely will try Haitian for sure as it sounds so beneficial. Loved this video 🙏🏾💕

@@SheReaDelSol I'm here for it!
Hi hun, great video. Just a little note though. Sunny isle and Tropic Isle are the most popular JBCOs exported but they are crap! It’s a watered down version of real JBCO. They get away with it because they have become so popular overseas. Real JBCO stinks!!! 😂 and is not as light in color as those brands, and works much better. If you have a pleasant/ok smell with it you are not using the real deal. The consistency and color I’m used to here in the rural parts of Jamaica is a lot richer and deeper. I learned that it really depends on who makes it and the process they use in making the oil. This doesn’t mean the HBCO may not be better since I’ve never tried it, but Sunny Isle and most manufactured on a large scale are not a true representation of JBCO 😊🇯🇲.
Fair. Send me some ☺️☺️
Wow! And I just bought three 4oz bottles of JBCO to make the infused hair oil recipe that you did many months ago.
I still use both.
It’s the moisture for me. 💛
Always the moisture

LOL!
Since Jesus was a boy🤣😂😂 Ok Sherea💜💜 Thanks for sharing sis HBCO for the win!!
Ayeee
Im gonna try some blue magic and seal it with the jbc and 4 chunky braids. Im low key excited 😂
I use both, sometimes i just mix them together, its also great for digestion issues and fibroids.
They're both good...VERY GOOD because they're both from the Caribbean where the soil is better and that's why they are good
All of my haitian friends have beautiful hair! Healthy, ends look great, thick, long bouncy hair.
Wow. I’ve never heard of Haitian castor oil. Thanks
You are welcome.
HNCO is gold!!! I brought some back and talk about my hair grew like weeds! And thicker. I had it made for me them $60 was worth it. Unfortunately, I am out too. I need to figure out how I’m gonna re up with all this craziness going on in Haiti

See I just ordered!!! You gone make me spend all my coins lol!
Sorry!
Castor oil has been my go-to lately. I apply leave in and then castor oil and twist it up until
next was day. Then wash and repeat. When I go out I rock and head wrap or my headband wig.
Sameeeee lol
Softer, smoother sounds good! Checked out “Neges Banda” after watching one of your videos. Bought a protein treatment! Thinking about trying HBCO. By the way; every time you say “since Jesus was a boy” I cannot help but LOL! Positive vibes. 🙌❤️🇰🇳
That protein treatment is great!
The reason the Haitian one is richer is because it’s artisanal...I remember years ago I had a client that would bring me castor oil from Jamaica homemade I’d use it as a treatment on clients in the salon and trust me the stuff u getting over the counter is not concentrated..this castor oil from Jamaica was thick and dark like molasses. So Haitian Jamaican only dif is the one from Haiti is small batch made and concentrated hand crafted is always best..
That is fair! Thanks for watching hon
As Haitian,we use Castor oil for everything, it's a staple in our culture.
My grandma used to give it to us as Laxative; use it for cold(rub it on the chest, back, feet, nose, neck, and forehead, etc.)
Strong scent but does the work; we do not dilute our oil.
Very interesting. So it's hbco, jbco, then grease( in terms of the best sealants on your hair)? I definitely need a sale but it's on my list now. Blessings on blessings sis💙💙💙
Not sure where grease falls actually
@@SheReaDelSol if you revisit this, I wouldn't mind seeing a comparison of the three.

I actually have been using Haitian Black Castor oil by Kreyol Essence for about a month. My mom knocked my bottle over 2 days ago and did not pick up. Needless to say I need to go get another bottle 😔 I agree with the smoothness it gives, I definitely noticed that.
Whew chile!
Wow!

I would head to Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn, back in the day, and get my HBCO for $5 from the Haitian aunties street vendors. I'm sure it's not $5 anymore but, worth whatever they are charging now.
Anyhow, I got the Kreyol one for $26 dollars last year at Whole Foods. I don't feel like it compares to Brooklyn Haitian auntie, tho.
So I continued using the Rooted brand JBCO. Until I find my way back to Flatbush Ave or I can beg family to bring my up some JBCO from Jamaica when they visit.
Thanks for the comparison. I always did know that there was something special about the HBCO cause no lie, almost every Haitian I knew growing up had nice thick hair!
Moral for me, try to get it directly from yard (🇭🇹 or 🇯🇲) or, at least, from local aunties who know wassup.
HBCO for me and the curls that were poppin on your head sis
Thanks lovely
Where are all my Haitians at??? 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹
I love Kreyol Essence Haitian black castor oil. HBCO is on another level of soothing scalp and moisture.
Agreed!
You only need a little, which one you choose.. You don't need a lot
I'm still going to use my jbc up before I use the Haitian bc, I don't want mix them together
The quality of the oil matters to me, so idc about the price. So I’m definitely gonna start back with using HBCO. I used to use the Kreyol essence one ages ago, but I’ll look into the other one.
