Yea I was telling someone where they were gathered up one day and he thanked me and then told me to try the whopper plopper on em they were tearing it up they have some of the best blow ups too gotta love those aggressive little monsters ;)
Update: found a second Choppo at local lake. Decided to give it another chance and this one seemed to work much better than the first one I found. No rolling over or skipping across the surface. I found it works best if I hold my 17lb mono line up high and let the line tension aid in keeping the right balance. The first one I found had a huge swivel and snap lure but it didn't help the issues. This one I tie directly to the eyelet. Haven't caught anything on it but it looks good.
@@funkymojo111 yea I tie direct and I keep my rod tilted up unless I’m at an exaggerated elevation then I may have to angle down and to the side to maintain tension but not pull it to high off the water. I do usually use whopper Ploppers though and I do the same with them
The Choppo blows out, have to reel slow until prop turns. The R2S Whopper is built better and runs true without the search of that perfect prop speed. Both will stop with a simple blade of grass in the prop blade. Neither handles debris in the water well.
Fair statement, I was casting in moving water and both act about identical in a moving current I still use them fairly interchangeably but if I were to have only one with me it would be the whopper plopper
Never fished a choppo or a whopper plopper in the creeks for smallies, but after watching your video, I'm going to give it a try.
