Cleveland is also where the first “rock & roll” shows were hosted and where many bands got their start, and is home to the Rock & Roll hall of fame. Saying they liked to have a good time back in the 70’s is a severe understatement.

Adjusting for inflation, ten cents in 1974 is 78 cents or 61 pence today. Some baseball stadiums currently sell a cheaper beer for as low as $5, but paying $10-15, even $20, is more likely.
You should watch a video about "Disco Demolition Night."

I live in Northeast Ohio; about an hour south of Cleveland. Still do. I was 5 years old when this happened. You hear stories about that game for years to come.

You have to remember too, that Billie Martin was never known to be a man to de-escalate a situation, so yeah, everything was aligned for this to go completely off the rails.

Of course, Billy Martin had to be there!

There was another crazy promotion, that turned worse than this. It was the Chicago White Sox. If I remember right, the crowd was asked to bring vinyl records to the game, to get in free. It ended with the whole crowd on the field, burning everything they could get their hands on.

Mr. Google says that the average price of beer at a ballpark in 1974 was 65 cents. For those who may not know, it takes 100 cents to make a US dollar.

People brought in their own booze too, Mike Hargrove said he was nearly hit by an empty gallon bottle of Thunderbird wine.

Oh boy, do I remember this one. Disaster on an epic scale. This was not the last time that baseball went a bit sideways, here is a link to ESPN's story about Disco Demolition Night at a Chicago White Sox double header in 1979. You say that you are too young to remember disco? Count your blessings.💣 - ruclips.net/video/a1zN-oLCKo4/видео.html

Here's another suggestion for a new band, if interested. "Gold Dust Woman - Fleetwood Mac - The Dance" (by the channel: spiritmountainbtb) --This song written and sung by Stevie Nicks is from their eleventh studio album called "Rumors." The album has sold over 40 million copies worldwide and it won Album of the Year in 1978 and received Diamond certification in several countries...in otherwards this album has some extraordinary Bangers to check out in future, if interested.
