She was the nicest woman I ever met. She and I hit it off when I was a young 17 year old girl. Ms. Duke alway’s called my mom and asked if she'd mind if she could see me. My mom loved her so much and they even spoke about humanitarian aid and Ms Duke helped my mom who devoted her life to humanitarian aid all over the world. My grandfather made pearls for her one of a kind. It was shocking when she asked my mother about a set of pearls she was wearing. That's when we learned of that as my grandfather was the man who made one of a kind design jewelry introducing pearls to the Japanese made so many different styles for many. He also was the one if you're wearing an Eternity band made the first in the world. I'm really happy I have the first he made. Ms Duke became a very important part of my life and certain decisions I'd ask her advice for. It breaks my heart what the state of New Jersey has been endlessly doing to her estate the grounds that she loved so dearly her amazing trees she had flown in from Africa and planted so perfectly. I'll often go quietly and just sit and remember those wounderful moments memories of having the pleasure of knowing the real woman behind certain people's beliefs. There's so many things people aren't aware of that she deserves credit for and the state has some nerve damaging what truly could have been a fantastic historical history lesson and more. I miss her dearly. Was she close to her family? I'll never speak regarding that. She in fact lived very down to earth often she'd even randomly leave her house and enjoy the people who came to visit her beautiful green houses. I remember the first time I saw her do it and the faces of shock and amazement on people's faces. She wasn't what people assumed she was in any sense or did she care much for having to be private protected 247. I remember a real woman human being. Money is nice but there's many things it can't buy it can't bring joy and happiness
She often said certain thing's like that to me. I can say I am greatful for certain part's of the 80’s and when she suddenly passed away I was on the road. I thank her for the advice she gave me on that one as well. Wonderfully dressed alway’s Ms Duke looked even in her long flowing dressed she'd wear relaxing and her lovely spots wear. She brought me my frist amazing Ralph Lauren sweater. I cherish every moment good or sad when around her. I could cry seeing my grandfather's and Ms Duke jewelry.

Always remember what "Mrs. Howell said "People who say money can't buy happiness just don't know where to shop"! LOL!

These videos make me nuts. I don't want to see talking heads. I want to see a long shot of the piece (s) then a close up with a description of the piece (metal, carat weight, jeweler).

Poor Doris - she was my 4th cousin.
I certainly hope that she found some happiness in all this... 🌷

I saw the jewelry first hand in Hawaii at the Honolulu Academy of Art before it went to the Auction. She had a sad life and the child she had with Duke Kahanamoku didn't survive. Many people took advantage of her

She had an obsession with freaky male genitalia. You’d have to wander if this desire came from childhood abuse. A child’s view of any appendage would’ve been seen ass large………so in adulthood the obsession to fulfill this image of size would be very hard to come by but in those rare instances. This is only a theory.
Ms. Duke (to be respectful) at least had the money to smooth over the rough places, and she did this very well. Her taste wasn’t that bad at all. She was of her time. Her jewelry is uniquely her own designs. You are correct though. I know this first had to be true.

Eva Stotesbury thought her to be foolish and ungrateful. The bejeweled parrots are missing. I saw them once in 1995 or 96. An antique dealer in LA showed them to me. I had no idea at the time who they’d have belonged to. I found to be real….but horridly gaudy, but exquisitely constructed. I also can state that I knew Barnard Lafferty in 1982…as he was the maître d’ of the Hunt Room at the Bellevue Stratford hotel. I so miss losing touch with Kitty McCasky who was my fellow busboy partner. We witnessed the “Sugar Baby” stars every night. Anne Miller then hired Barnard to be her Butler. It didn’t last long. Anne Miller passed him off to Peggy Lee, and PG passed Barnard of to Doris Duke, and the rest is history. This is how I Know those multi bejeweled parrot earrings were Doris Dukes. Where are the earrings today?

Just show the jewels properly, no need to talk so much especially in such a short clip.

Video takes nearly a minute of looking at fountains outside before getting INSIDE to see what little - very little - is shown of the jewels! Very poorly shot video.

Someone should have added some subtitles underneath Bucky Beaver so we could have known what he was actually saying, instead of hearing "LISP LISP LISP LISP LISP LISP.... "

Minding the objective of this video - to present glorious jewellery with a personal story of elegance and glamour - it is made utterly terrible, in every aspect - camera work, lighting, sound (have you heard of overlapping a video flow with narration?)... I came to be impressed about the collection of 'the richest girl in the World'... and there was eerie clumsiness. Strange.

If you are going to do a video, try to make a decent one, hardly any close ups, what's the point,in showing the jewellery far away, pointless!!!!😡

Poor rich woman .Another jewels go to " strangers "
hands ??'.She's nothing without family love and kids. With money you can buy things but can't buy glamour, elegance and more.... Only new rich.
