Levan is right. In a sense Devon is the Levan of his natural weight category. Both of them cant lose in their natural weight category. Devon tried this super heavy weight category because this is where the challenge was. Both of them are living legends of the sport.

You should know that authority put super heavyweight category +105 kg. Everybody believed this category and they waited someone will win the match against Levan. While they was searching solutions, armwrestler fans were talking body weight is important for solutions.
Only one or two arm wrestler had good match againest Levan. Ermes and Vitaly. Larrat lost matchs +105 against popular armwrestlers. It show us Larrat's arm is not powerfull. Pound for pound Larratt is the strongest arm wrestler of all time, if they were all the same weight he would wreck every single arm wrestler that has ever existed, including Denis and Levan, except for maybe Brzenk, now that dude is something special. Doesn't matter, Devon vs Levan was completely different weight divisions. Realistically there's no possible way Devon ever had a chance unless Levan had no understanding of armwrestling at all, which he does.
To beat Levan you have to be the same weight or very close in weight. The same's true of any armwrestler of any weight. Technique only becomes relevant if the muscle mass is there. This match was a 70kg Devon vs a 120kg Levan. People only took it seriously because of Devon's height.

I doubt there's any tactic going on here. Devon is an idol in the arm wrestling world. Levan grew up watching Devon matches before anyone knew Levan's name. There's definitely some admiration from Levan towards Devon for what Devon has accomplished. I also think Levan believes that Devon meant what he said about not facing Levan again, so Levan is probably more open to sharing his true feelings about things, knowing that Devon isn't likely to spin it around and use it as a psychological attack in a future match since a future match isn't likely to ever happen.
