Hi! I'm Thea, a culinary student. I learned this Canadian butter tart recipe from a semi-fine dining restaurant where I work part-time as a baker. I love this butter tart recipe because it yields a lava-like center, ooey-gooey inside with a crunch at the top! This lava butter tart is definitely a sweet treat! Some recipes call for corn syrup, but this one simply has sugar.
LAVA BUTTER TART RECIPE
Ingredients:
113 grams butter (1/2 cup)
320 grams brown sugar (1 1/2 cups, packed)
2 whole eggs
2 Tablespoons cream
2 Tablespoons vanilla
Tart shells
*you can make them, I used supermarket-bought tart shells for this recipe
YIELD: 18 mini tarts
