My parents took us to church, mass, with them from our very beginnings. The mass changed when I was only 7 years, and I remember it distinctly. Then and now, I continue to genuflect at the end of mass to receive the blessing of peace and other changes I didn't readily comply with at 7 years of age. Taking children to mass at a very young age forms a very strong bond with that child, (we would hope), because our innocence has yet to be tainted. My memories of attending mass before my first Holy Communion are vivid, as is the light of God, continually renewed, within me. @@LIZZIE-lizzie Absolutely astounding! It's still an obligation to teach children the catechism in this day and age and we hope Catholics will fulfill this.
@@LightoftheImmaculate Tell me, please, are our children being taught NOT to touch The Host?! So many young people, in my experience, don't know this. They don't know and/or believe The Host IS THE BODY OF JESUS. And they have come back apologizing because they didn't know The Host IS JESUS. Which leads me to think, What are they being taught - or what not? Do you know anything about this? Thank you and God bless you 🙏🙏🏽🙏🏼
Sadly, the catechism today is not as solid as before, especially when the method of teaching is too long and then people forget what was taught. There is permission for Communion in the hand, but it is not the normal practice, and not the best for sure. What fervent Catholic families do is they teach their children instead depending on the Parish for this ministry to be fulfilled. Let's pray that we take things in our own hands.

What a beautiful story of our Mother Mary.
Truly it is! Each of us has a story as well, as her Motherhood is always there for us!

Outstanding experience and advice about going to Mass at an early age. Good habits are formed this way! Thank you so much!

It was SAINT ROSE OF LIMAS' Grandmother who taught her the Catechism that prompted those memories 😅
