    Arielle, you did an excellent job with this. You really excel when it comes to research and then a very accessible and detailed presentation. Brava! This is the type of Vlog that really helps people make educated choices and get the best value for their money. Meanwhile, I was salivating over some of the meals you showed! Thanks!

    This is an informative video. 3-star Michelin cost us $1500 USD (1380 euros) for 2. A favorite bistrot is Alain Ducasse's 1-star bistrot in the 4th, Benoit. Last time was approx $525 (480 euros) for 3. However, many of our favorite bistrots are about 50-60 eruros for 2 with wine. Bouillon Chartier is a must!

    Great information. The best French dish I ever ate was in a bistro in Avignon. It was tiny spinach ravioli with a type of white fish (cod?) in a white wine cream sauce baked in a crock. Heavenly. I tried duplicating it at home but it wasn’t nearly as good.

    I agree...I don't need a restaurant with a star and prefer homey, cozy types! Restaurants in France are a hit or miss like everywhere, but you certainly don't need to pay exorbitant prices for mediocre food! For me it's ambiance, price and quality! Good vlog so thx!!

    Hi Arielle! I’m very new to your channel, this is the 3rd of your videos I’ve watched; which I’ve all enjoyed, so thank you so much for the comprehensive and informative vlogs. I will be going back to Paris in a couple of months, it will be my 8th time. ☺️ My sister is going for the first time so I shared your Pickpocket video to her. It was awesome. I never knew about the ‘bird poop’ scam, so thank you! I will now be wary of that this time around because of you. 🙏🏼 I have been wanting to go to a Bouillon and for some reason have not, but this time, I will! Thank you so much. All the best!

    We took the advice of our hosts for a place nearby in the 19th to eat. Believe me, you can't go wrong with a local's recommendation. We ended up having dinner there twice because everything about it was wonderful, including the pricetag.

      @@gerardcrum1233 I think it was the Casa Giorgio. 10 Rue du Général Brunet, 75019 Paris, France. Of course, being August I would definitely check to see if they're open. Looking at their website, their prices still seem reasonable. They were low key with delicious food. (Geez, I hope my memory is serving me well. It was May 2019 when we were last there but there's still a website and it looks like the same place - especially the hostess and chef). I'd love to hear if you liked it.

    Bonjour Arielle!
    This had to have been your most informative video and so different than all the other French related videos. Thank you so much for your detailed explanations for they different type of restaurants that Paris has to offer! I made a reservation at the one bistronomique restaurant that you recommended (i will be sure to tell the manager at Meha that you gave me and your subscriber's the recommendation!) but can you please give me the name of another bistronomique restaurant to try. I will be in Paris next month and have been making all my dinner reservations before arriving. Thanks so much in advance!!

      Ah you’ll have an awesome trip ☺️ no worries about the wine ! My friends and I very often don’t drink alcohol when we go out so you can just say « une carafe d’eau svp » for table water and if you’re feeling extra fancy you can grab a bottle of sparkling water (eau pétillante). They won’t force wine or any alcohol on you, it’s very acceptable just to have table tap water !

    Going to Paris in September for a second time. This video was well explained and helps a lot. A quick question..I was thinking of going to a bouillon at some point during my trip. However I’ll be going as a solo traveler. Will they actually sit me with others at the same table? Not sure how comfortable I am with that because I actually like dining solo. I just want to see you if it’s something you can ask a host to not to be sat with another either couple or group at a table or if it’s frowned upon.

    • @margaretmcintyre5651
      @margaretmcintyre5651 3 месяца назад

      I'll let Arielle advise on if a host can be asked for a solo table, but I want to give you a vote of confidence that being seated with others when dining solo can be a great experience. I'm a US English speaker who was in Zadar Croatia one evening and stopped into a local pizza restaurant for a bite at dinner. At first I was seated alone but when the crowd came in the waiter asked if I would mind a couple sitting with me in my booth. I agreed and the most delightful couple joined me, a nurse and policeman from England. They shared very interesting stories of prior travels and the reason they were in Croatia which was to visit a family they had met in Thailand while on vacation when the typhoon hit. The nurse had volunteered in a local hospital since there was no way to leave for a while and one of the patients in the hospital was a person from Croatia. They became friends and hence, the visit. So long way to say, you might meet the nicest people and learn some really interesting stuff you never expected. So go for it!

    I watched a visit to a 1 star Michelin restaurant recently. It looked wonderful, but the 7 course meal was 285€ per person plus the cost of a bottle of wine or champagne. Now if someone else was paying I'd be there in a heartbeat but not if I have to pay that much.

    • @Ariellelaparisienne
      @Ariellelaparisienne  3 месяца назад +1

      YES thats exactly what I mean ! The bill can quickly get in the hundreds at a starred restaurant and when there are so many other amazing restaurants out there for a fraction of the cost, it’s hard to justify that amount of money 😬

    • @Ariellelaparisienne
      @Ariellelaparisienne  3 месяца назад +1

      Unfortunately I think that will be very challenging… not a lot of restaurants or bakeries cater to vegans. In my itineraries I have a vegan substitute for every restaurant and snack spot I recommend, but you really do have to search restaurants that are specifically for the vegan diet :/

    Where would a brasserie fit it to the scheme. I had a delicious light lunch of potage and bread a something that billed itself as a brasserie. It was not expensive and seemed to also be comparable to a pub where people might go just for a beer or drink
