Hi.PJ thanks for the videos ...i have a question.. In shaded viewport your ring color blue violet is constant but here in my pc the color is not constant it keeps switching between object color and default shaded view color... Please advice ..if any setting can help...
Thanks for these tutorials. Between 03:40 and 04:15, when I move the curves, the whole curve moves including the lower origin. You just move upper part and the lower point stays joined to the shank circle. Complete beginner here so would you explain please exactly which commands are required so that only the upper parts of the curve move? I do not see curve control points any more.
I was moving control point only. The control point will be on automatically when you pick up curve. If you are using Rhino 5. you need to turn it on manually.
Hi your tutorials are amazing.... Can you pls also make and post video on how to apply material or to get final golden color ring in render mode ?? pls do the needful thanks
Great video and execution learning a lot. Looking to get into jewelry design for myself. What would you recommend? I work digitally and will outsource investment casting.
if you just start to the jewelry design field. I will say stay with rhino and get some freelance to practice first. once you have enough work and you are sure you will use the program 8 hours a day for generate income. you can invest to matrixgold for speeding up the work speed.
This is such good advice and instruction. Thank you so much! I was at a CAD competion yesterday in Atlanta and one of the contestants was using "Tspline" to adjust the variable width of her "sweep1rail" components. I have Rhino5, Rhino6 and RhinoGold6.6. None of these seem to have "Tspline" as a command. Is there anything similar to "Tspline" in any of these programs?
@@PJChenJewelryDesign Thanks. I've shyed away from Clayoo until I know about RhinoGold and the Rhino programs that it works off of. I'll look into the Autodesk option.
When I try to add the splitting angle my curve line never stays on the same plane and looks distorted despite following the ways you suggest. What would you advise to fix that?
@@PJChenJewelryDesign Thank you very much. Do you offer private lessons? If so, I would love to work with you one on one for a project I am currently on. Thank you!
hello, I magnify the video as everyone, please I need your help, I've seen that in several tutorials, when it makes a curve and selects it, in the curve appear some points which you can move, for example in this video in minute 3: 03, in my rhino only the curve changes color when selecting it, but those points do not appear, I know they are not control points, as I do so that they appear, thanks
@@PJChenJewelryDesign hello pj, thank you for answering and clarifying my doubt, now I was exercising your tutorial and at the end failed Boolean union, half of the design is lost, some tutorial solving Boolean problems to see it, thanks again
Hello! I am using a rhino v6 on mac and I'm struggling to do the crv2view with the right curve linked to the adjustable new curve. It seems no matter which the order I select the curves in crv2view, the new curve is always linked to my curve that is created from the curve to plane view. When I move the curve you move, nothing happens, but it only moves when i adjust the curve to plane curve. could anyone please help? thanks!
@@PJChenJewelryDesign thanks for your reply!! I still couldn't get it to link to the right curve even after i used align, but i ended up just copying that project to cplane curve on a different layer and then turning adjusting it for the prong curve. I went worked with the copied layer later when I needed to use crv2view for the inner detail. Thank goodness I could still get the result with a workaround. maybe next time I use these function it will work. Just wanted to say that I'm currently learning rhino through your videos and this is the 3 one I tried. Thank you so much for sharing these lessons, PJ!

Great video!!! I want to see how you boolean those sweeps, did they just go together easy or did you have to use tricks? Thanks PJ!

Thank you! Failed to boolean union those intersecting prong/shank branches though ( all closed polysurfaces). Any ideas?
Evan Gregor sometimes is the seam completely aligned will cause Boolean fail. Move up down right or left 0.001 will fix the problem.
@@PJChenJewelryDesign , thank you PJ, that was an easy fix! You are so knowledgeable

If you have Rhino 5, you can download Tspline from Autodesk. If you use RhinoGold. It is in other name call Clayoo.

t-spline and clayoo is the same just different name.
if you print it, does it print the stone in wax too? or do I have to delete it before printing?
If you are printing for cast. you will need to delete the stone.
excellent!!
Thank you, Julia!
Thanks sir

you can turn off the osnap before draw the curve. or use project to Cplane to make them flat to cplane

william almeida the control point will appear automatically in rhino 6. If it is rhino 5, the points will only show when you have point on command.
