You needs to know that you shouldn't by them at full price form Apple. Studio 3 is constantly on big sales, and sometimes you can find them for opened never used as low as £130 on eBay here in the UK (And they are not counterfeits). Good luck on finding a pair of opend never used Surface Headphones 2 at this kind of price.

Yes, a feature all budget headphones seem to have. See Taotronics, Mpow etc. For me the killer feature is audio pass through...so I can hear my voice on phonecalls. Taking calls with isolating headphones is otherwise difficult
You should give another example such as Flossy Carter or MKBHD etc. They are the real honest guys. Unbox Therapy is a major Apple/Beats hater. Of course review channels try to be or pretend to be objective, Unbox Therapy is obviously pretending to be objective for sure.
Dude u seem like you didn't even take 2 days to try it out, you didn't know it supports aptx and you tried to do and unboxing and a review at the same time. At least put the effort in to review the product properly in a separate video.
There is seamless "elegant" pairing in Windows 10 its called Swift Pair. Either you don't have it turned on or your Windows version is old. When I open my Galaxy buds case it ask me on Windows instantly if I want to pair. Additionally these headphone do have greater audio quality than the first gen as they DO utilise the aptX protocol and codec.
Nice video Mike. I'm in the market for new headphones to use with my laptop at home. My budget is around $200. I was thinking about the audio-technica ATH-M50X or the new Sony WH-CH710N which are wireless and noise canceling but still can be used in wired mode. I think the noise cancellation is causing this distortion, it seems erratic. But overall for 250 the microphone quality and feel is pretty good. The comfort beats the Beats solo's clamping force.
The distortion is when the noise cancelling is not working. The headphones have sensors to tell when they are fitted on your head. So if you don't have them on right it causes distortion, because it thinks that they aren't on your head. This is from my experience with the surface headphones 1, which I have on right now.
Looks like there is a bug or driver issue because the surface headphones do support Aptx. Sounds like this is the main complain about them. Unfortunately iOS does not support Aptx so the performance won't be as good on iphones and ipads. Macs do support aptx.
@@HiFiInsider I'm saying it could be an issue with the headphones themselves for not operating with the aptX codec. My pair are coming in today, and based on the support documentation looks like you have to enable this feature in the Surface Audio App. This could mean that aptX support is limited to only Android and Windows since there is no surface audio app for mac or iOS but I'll test that later (I have an iphone/ipad and windows computer).
@@HiFiInsider I just got the surface headphones and by default it went to SBC on a macOS, but with the dev tools you can enable AptX however you have to reconnect the headphones for the change to go through. They sound a bit better with less compression artifacts, they are pretty terrible on SBC. Note that I only have Spotify on my work computer. On Windows they defaulted to AptX. I don't have an android device to test. With Amazon Music HD on windows they sound good, not as good as Blue Satellites but way more convenient so far.

Everyone is hating because beats are trash. "Beats are better than they used to be" means nothing at all. There is a reason Beats aren't in ANYONES top 10 and these find their way into people's top 5 (wireless headphones). Each to their own I guess when it comes to what type of sound you like but out of 10+ reviews I have watched of these, all but this one are favorable. Your treble can be fixed in the app with EQ mixer which he didn't mention. Didn't mention the app at all. Multi device support? no mention. They do in fact support AptX. Reviews are meant to bring everything to the person watching/reading the review. Thats why this is a bad review.

Use the EQ on the surface app for the distortion. Its because of the bass its more strong. I have the gen 1 and with that feature its a complete new sound experience for the better

I can only find aptx mentioned here: support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/4469754/charge-surface-headphones. Also, on the Windows version of the Surface audio app, I have seen images of a toggle to turn on and off aptx. Maybe you can try and see if the toggle works for you? Perhaps before you flip the switch, the headphones are locked to sbc by default for all sources. Thanks again for the brief comments! Really appreciate it.
nice find! AptX aside, the sound quality is just bad. There’s often distortion and sounding like music under water. MS should have integrated the advanced features into Win 10, it shouldn’t need an app that the user have to go get to use a matching Surface product. Integration is important in 2020. They do make both Surface products so there’s no excuse not to make them work better when customer buys both.

I try to be pretty open minded when watching these reviews since I'm looking to buy a pair but you seem to be way off base. The other 5 reviews I've watched all said that they were great and close enough to the Sony WH-1000XM3 for the price. They weren't quite as good in terms of audio quality or noise cancelling but compared pretty favorably overall. You're comparing them to the much lower quality Beats and saying they're worse, I have a hard time believing that. As mentioned below, you also got some of the features wrong as they do support AptX. IDK if maybe your pair is defective or something but you've had a completely different experience than everyone else who has tested these.

You have more disliked than likes on your video and for good reason. Beats are quite possibly the worst bang for your buck you could get at this price point. You rattled off incorrect information about the headphone Bluetooth connection. The headphones support multiple device pairing which should be the standard other companies should strive for, and you complained about a windows 10 OS feature in a video about headphones.

They recently surpassed apple to become the number 1 company by market cap. Their surface line is generally seen as a success, so this comment makes no sense. The last product they made that failed was windows phone, and the last windows phone was released in 2015.

Yes, swift pairing was ON. In fact that was the first thing that popped up on my Surface Go when pairing the HP 2.

My Surface Headphones 2 are outputting via AptX. I checked via Android Developer Mode.

Does the battery last as long as advertised? I have the original ones, the specs said 19 hours, but mine only gets 14 hours at best.

They recently surpassed apple to become the number 1 company by market cap. Their surface line is generally seen as a success, so this comment makes no sense. The last product they made that failed was windows phone, and the last windows phone was released in 2015.
