- Hey! Explore Hungary with us! Last weekend we went on another trip in Hungary, this time to the city of Tata! This Hungarian city is an hour away from Budapest, so it's a perfect daytrip, if you want to leave Budapest for a bit.
I would have never thought how beautiful this city will be, it was truly a big surprise for us. And the fact that we didn't manage to see everything... I'm sure we will go back in the future. :)

Valóban gyönyörű város, engem lenyűgözött, és nem értem, miért nem kap nagyobb figyelmet mind a belföldi, mind a külföldi turizmusban, szerintem megérdemelné. 😊

Tata was my favourite city that we visited so far this year, I really recommend you as well! :) Tata egy nagyon nyugodt város, közel a természethez, nagyon tetszett. :)
What an unusual name, tata means dad in Croatian 😅
Haha, yes! You can also hear this word in Hungary, but nowadays only older people say that when they talk about their grandfathers. :D Personally, I never use this word.
I checked out and one possible explanation for the name is that it originates from Saint Stephen who called his foster priest "tata" and that person was the founder of the monastery in Tata. So who knows? :D
We have some language similarities then. :)
