      @Reverend Boaz hey there!! In certain areas of town we have a high fire designation for insurance. Earthquakes and wildlife are very rarely an issue for my clients. Feel free to reach out if you want more insight 805-944-2653

    Biggest con was when LA discovered SB and the ultra rich made it impossible for us locals to stay in our home town

    • @AviBecker

      I hear you, SB is definitely on the map like never before.

      That's what's happening in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho right now 👎 booooo

      @@FitLikeaPhoenix the wealthy don’t like that the quality of life has gone downhill in the cities so they are moving to small towns and bidding up prices to crazy levels. I see it here in SB- lots of people moving in from San Francisco Bay Area. Maybe if they voted in DAs that actually prosecuted quality of life crimes (theft, drug dealing, vandalism, etc) they could stay in the city.

    Nice video, Avi. But I felt that you missed a couple of major cons. First let me say that I lived in SB for 30 years, up until I retired in 2019. We had a great, smaller home behind the Mission and Nat'l History Museum. Two areas that you overlooked, and for me at least, were reasons why I left, were the growing problems with homelessness and traffic congestion. The downtown area, parks, and beaches, continue to be impacted by the homeless "situation", which of course, the local gov't does absolutely nothing about. Likewise, traffic congestion continues to also impact the area. I think that it's easy for tourists to overlook these problems, while wearing their rose-colored glasses, but for local residents, they weigh heavily on their everyday life.
    For us, cashing out and moving to Ojai, was a great move. We rarely go to SB, and I have to say, we don't miss it that much...

    Sounds great. I will be visiting during July 24-27, 2023 for fun and with an eye to perhaps moving their in retirement (next year+) from Upstate New York. I'm bringing my camera, so: best photo ops? Mission? Courthouse? Everyone does those: what do out of state photographers not know about Santa Barbara that's photo worthy? And, of course, is it a good place to retire?

    What about the Wild Fires, how can you have a Con segment and not talk about the areas affected by Wildfires?

    Ok, WHAT ABOUT THE WILD FIRES? SANTA BARBARA IS KNOWN FOR IT'S WILDFIRES, WHAT AREAS ARE MOSTLY AFFECTED?

    • @AviBecker
      @AviBecker  2 года назад

      Definitely something to consider, I can send you an insurance map that designates the high fire zones if you’d like!

    • @UchihaM
      @UchihaM 2 года назад

      the wild fires dont happen so much anymore, but back around 2018 they were up in the mountains or even sometimes they were right next to the freeways. mostly mountains though.
