Dear Megan, thank you so much for posting your wonderful and informative videos on travelling to Korea. I just returned from a fantastic trip in Seoul. I stumbled across your channel when I was preparing for my first solo trip. Although my friends in Korea and Singapore helped me and I googled myself to death, your videos saved many a day for me.
Because of your videos, my trip as a solo traveller to South Korea was made so much easier and smooth-sailing. Right up to the night I was supposed to fly off, I watched your RUclips videos on the important documents I must get my hands on - because of that, I could get my Q-code done. (Phew!).
Again, because of your videos, I knew how to get the transport cards, what apps to download, how to take the bus, taxis and subway. And of course, how to navigate my way out of the airport when I land and when I take off. I also know where to go, things to do and the options I have when I got to Seoul. I have learned to save money when I was in Seoul thanks to your great tips and advice.
Your videos are a great treasure trove for a novice solo traveller like me. Please continue your great work and may the Lord continue to bless you, watch over you and prosper you. May He continue to provide for you and bless you with abundance as you serve Him and give of yourself to others for Him. I am also encouraged by your testimonies of God's love and goodness - it helps me to continue to trust in Him. I thank God for you. Take care!

When you land in korea find any convenience store and buy your self a T- MONEY card and then take it to a Top up machine which are all over the underground stations as you enter and top up these cards .. the Machines have English if you need it .. once topped up just tap on a subway gate your going though to your destination ie Incheon to Seoul - City Hall etc and its the cheapest way .. i think its like 5 to 9,000 won . Also once you have the T-MONEY card you can use it on Vending Machines - convenience store - Bus's - Taxis with the Tmoney or Cashbee logo affixed , just tell the driver your using it . :)

    Hello Megan!
We just want to thank you for your channel & your supportive information
We have just got back home to Australia & had spent 17 amazing nights in Seoul (stayed across the road from Myeong-dong markets & Lotte department store to the left of us).
Your channel made it so much easier for us to prepare for our holiday & helped us out tremendously while we were there.
The T-money cards was such a blessing as we used the buses & trains everyday.
The discover passes (we purchased the 72 hour pass) were so useful & went to so many places within the 3 days (Gangnam Coex aquarium,Seoul tower,3 palaces, alive museum & dynamic maze in Insadong,2 royal tombs, yellow bus around the city,Zoolung zoo & Lotte World)
A lot of shopping in Hongdae
A lot of walking at day & night
    A lot of sight seeing
    A lot of food eating
& A lot of wonderful people we met through our journey!
We had an incredible time & was such a perfect 50th birthday present,& celebrated it with my whole family (my wife & 3 teens & my 9yr old).
Even though we studied the basics of Korean language,we used Papago for translation & Naver for directions & timetables.
We appreciate your wonderful info & excellent recommendations
Thank you so much once again & this will be a holiday we will never ever forget!
Blessings from all of us & keep up the great work!

Hi! About the VISA: I looked it up online and you don’t need one if you come from Europe (Germany in my case) and come to korea for less than 90
days. So easy peasy for Europeans apparently! :)

    • @MeganOsten
      @MeganOsten  Год назад +3

No no! Online it clearly states that EVERYONE needs one as of September of last year - even visa-free countries. People will have to wait at the border if they don’t have the visa in advance and are coming to Korea as a tourist. It’s so cheap and the visa is good for two years so please take the extra precautions so you don’t get in trouble! 🥺🫶🏼❤️

Loving to have found your channel! I'm heading to Seoul for work in 4 weeks and have meetings and events in two completely different parts of the city! One is at COEX so someone suggested I stay at the Intercontinental, and the other event is at the Westin Josun. I will be busy but would love to explore areas nearby as I've never been to Korea before. Where would you recommend I stay? Thank you so much!!

It would be convenient to stay at a hotel near COEX, such as the Intercontinental, since you have meetings there, but if you want to explore other areas, you can also consider staying at a hotel in the Gangnam or Itaewon neighborhoods. I recommend checking out the South Korea Travel Guide 2023 by Rick Paul for recommendations on accommodations and nearby attractions. 🏨🌃📖

Great video! So helpful. About the weather: how is Seoul in the first half of August? I know it'll be hot and humid, but is it doable with neckfans/umbrellas? Or is it just intolerable to be outdoors at all, especially midday? TIA!

Have you ever used luggage transportation services between cities (hotel to hotel) like they have in Japan? Made traveling the Shinkansen a lot easier. Thinking the same thing for the KTX.
