Yes, that's why there's different terms for high fashion, pret a porter, "fast fashion" etc. This is meant to be conceptual, technique showing, ideas showing, fabrics etc. Not to be worn or definitely not for mass consumption
I used to not get a lot of high fashion either, & figured I'm just not a very artistic person. But the last few years I found an unconventional art form that im naturally kinda good at. It's really opened my eyes to art forms that ppl don't necessarily think of as art, like fashion, and helped me really see the beauty in it, even if I don't always 100% love it myself.
Also, with these pieces, even without the explanation you can genuinely see where they're going with it. You can actually get a sense of the purpose and it's not immediately completely lost on you. I'm in the fashion adjacent world and I often think a lot of what is passed off as high fashion can be very pretentious and elitist, often making false depth out of something that is likely in reality very thoughtless and shallow, and was assigned meaning that wasn't actually well conveyed. So I get it and I know a thing or two about the world of fashion. A lot of it does feel very shallow and self aggrandizing even with a proper explanation. Sometimes the work does not convey its purpose well. This work does convey its meaning well and does look beautiful and meaningful.

The girl who’s showing the soul piece really got the memo. Her pose and demeanor as she walks the runway is so ethereal it really sells the beautiful clothing she’s wearing
For anyone who thinks that this isn't something anyone would wear, fashion shows aren't meant to show things you'd wear everyday, they're to show the creativity and talent of their creator

I enjoy the notion that the soul returns to the universe. We become the stars, the drifting blooms of nebulae, the swirls of galaxies.. I could go on honestly, alas I won’t. All I think is it is a simply and exquisitely gorgeous ‘thing’
