The late Dr Myles Munroe, once stated that "Deliverance is not the same with Freedom, when Israelites left Egypt they were delivered but were not Free because Egyptian chains existed in their minds..."
I am with you Vusi and thanks for sharing.

Damn bro I was literally thinking of the same thing and after I listened to Dr Myles Munroe I got to realise that were not free were just independent. In other for us to be free we need to be free in how we think we still have the mindset of a slave. Like I wrote the other day on my journal that we were used to be the muscles of the operation instead of the brain of the operation. Like we still think of employment instead of deployment be our own bosses that's how we to start thinking as generation. Were looking for job opportunities instead of creating Job opportunities.

@@legasaandrewmalephepa3335 , Exactly, and how can we think like employers, while our perception of life is shaped to be employees? Our fathers, grandfathers in most communities brag about how they were favored by their bosses, and as a child you build your future on the foundation that "I need to be hired and supervise others..."
It is when we grow, when we learn from people like Vusi, Myles, Onyeu, and yourself, that our lives are actually based on the wrong foundation which limits us to think, instead of becoming agent of changes in our community, economy and more, we need someone to do that for us, and appoint us.
We need mind shift, just an inch.

One thing I've always wondered is why people steal from someone whenever they are trying to improve their life and are starting to see success, small though it might be at first? It's happened so many times when I've tried to help someone I see drive in start some kind of small business and then their tools or fruits of their labour get stolen or vandalised, often by their own neighbours. How is anyone supposed to get anywhere when people around you keep knocking you back down? It really makes me sad...

The hatred message is always the loudest one. On tv african decent people are most of the time stereo typically shown wearing their pants low, wearing lots of chains, etc. In SA, when there is a show with black people it's most of the time a violent one where black are displayed killing each other. Where is the hatred comes from, how do we root it out our community? When you see your neighbor with an expensive car, you too proud to ask him what he did to earn it, but you're not to proud to conspire against him and make his life miserable. Poverty is a state of mind, not a bank account balance.

First we as a whole sincerely need to reconnect with our deep and profound spiritual nature and It does start with our languages that we do not praise enough. What does it mean to be african today? There is clearly a loss of identity.

I respect this guy, but sometimes the people he interacts with fail to question his reasoning. Black people as soon as they occupy those position instead of bringing other Blacks up they wanna remain THE "Only/first" black person. If you are the only black person in the room your voice is that of one person, the sooner you(as in the only black person in the boardroom) realise that you need to assist bringing more black people up so that your voice as a collective will carry more weight the better. This happens with ladies too, You hear them saying "they were jealous of me because I was the only Female in management." The lesson should be; how do we become the majority in the spaces we compete in?

    • @Hannodb1961
      @Hannodb1961 4 года назад +4

@Jav van Kaal Exactly. Equality of oppertunity, not equality of outcome. The position you hold should be directly proportional to the value you bring to the table. What matters is not how many men, women, whites or blacks is sitting on the board, but whether every person there is deserving of the position by the value he or she adds to the company. Things fall apart when you put people in positions, not because of what they bring to the table, but because they make for a pretty picture.

they don't understand that there is no famine - we can all eat - the trick was to make it seem like there is a famine by feeding us scraps then we would try hold on to our little portion above all else - we need to understand there is plenty and be happy to have more like us in all levels

Jav van Kaal You've missed the point because it's not just about blackness. You probably don't understand #blacklivesmatter either? The fact that black people have to have talks like this an indictment on SA society 26 years into democracy. But it'll take a lifetime to change our mindsets.

I completely agree with this statement and yes his reasoning needs to be questioned. A lot of people might disagree with what I'm saying but there are far too many variables that prevent the black nation from moving forward as a group financially. Firstly very few people dissect the true ramifications of the capitalist system. By it's nature it requires destruction and poverty, then there's the education system which enforces individualism and conformity amongst other things, not to mention government and "justice" laws and policies that create dependency and a break down in cohesion within communities. Yes a few black people will get over the wall, but in a system built to have poverty the answer is not as simple as change your mindset.

@@blaqued5186 If you think capitalism is the problem, then you're still trapped in the mental prison. The fact of the matter is that poverty is the default state of being, while Capitalism is the system that created more wealth for more people around the world than ever before in the history of the planet. Capitalism does not require poverty, quite the opposite: It reward those who adds value to society. Collectivism, on the other hand, keeps people in poverty. It crushes individual initiative and ingenuity, it destroys any incentive for self improvement. It demands conformity, and is seeks to destroy all who becomes successful.
Both Asia and Africa gained independence at the same time. Many Asian countries have accepted the Capitalist system and has become extremely wealthy, surpassing even their former colonial masters. Even China only became an economic giant when they allowed limited capitalism in their system. Africa have rejected the system, opting instead for collectivist systems like Socialism and Communism. The result is there for all to see. As long as Africa rejects every single value and system on which all successful societies are build, so long Africa will remain poor. Stop fighting those whom you envy. Imitate them.

Man I’ll never stop listening to this man.. You’re touching on the foundations of our nations, we are not yet free as a people, our minds are enslaved. And the “colonial masters” made sure to leave us an education system that teaches us nothing. And 60yrs later here we are as countries just begging, and yet God gave us more than enough resources..it pains me

This is your truth...freedom from bondage is in various stages...as you mentioned, liberation from bondage is one stage...another stage is re orientation changing the liberated ones mindset...
I agree that the character/mindset of the average African is as you say BUT I strongly disagree we were not ready for freedom...what you should ponder is how we can make us okay for one of us to make that difference and how we can encourage them and be part of that success...
Many centuries of slavery and more so for the slaver to perfect their act of slavery is no joke and generations have been seriously damaged...as much as any war has on any person and then some...
But I appreciate your perspective and pray we can rise out of this quagmire of selfishness and wickedness...

    BUT
Unless you are going to totally trust God to help you, a statement like this could be costly because majority of Africans are going to treat you with scorn for revealing some of these truths
