Hidden fates ETBs are underrated and under priced. 10 packs $15 promo and $5 sleeves are worth more than $170... ALSO it seems lots of new collectors who post their collection online are lacking HF etbs.
Man.. top 3 to open up in my experience is 1. Crown Zenith hit rates sooooo good and beautiful cards. 2. Celebrations just super duper fun. 3. Evolving skies was rough but when you DO hit that alt art 😮💨
I came back into the hobby during Battle Styles. My favorite modern sets are Crown Zenith, 151, Cosmic Eclipse, & Lost Origin. We unfortunately never got to open Hidden Fates. One day I’m gonna buy an ETB. Not sure if we’ll open it or not.😅
Love the Cynthia. Have it in PSA 10, but the slab is foggy. Got CGC 9.5s in most of the others because price point was below PSA 9. Such a great set and loved hunting Walmarts.

Crown zenith is probably the best set of all time. A lot of people use the current market prices of cards to determine which set is the best which seems wrong. The last year of SWSH was amazing for artworks but because the pull rates were better people think evolving skies is better for instance. Sets like paldea evolved and paradox rift are going to age very well. The new, worse pull rates on SIRs in the newest sets may also make them winners down the road.

Hidden fates is the set that brought me back into collecting. I remember I bought (and opened) so many ETBs , pin collections, premium collection, tins… wish I was more educated with sealed back then. But hey I’ve learned and make better decisions now.
XY Evolutions, Hidden Fates, and SV 151 (ENG and JPN). I've been in and out of the hobby since WOTC era, but those three have gotten me to stick around for significant periods of time. Recently, I've been setting more collection goals e.g. SM Tag Teams, SWSH Alt Arts, SV SIRs and being a little more smart with my money. Adulting sucks.

I came back to the TCG (in part very much thanks to you Phanny) just before Shining Fates, with Battle Styles being my first real set. Brilliant Stars will always be my favorite set, lots of amazing playable cards and great artwork in there.

Team up (I love the tag team cards), Temporal Forces and I'm torn between Crown Zenith/Astral Radiance/Lost Origin as I really adored all three of those sets heh.

I came in during the battle styles alt era and opened a bunch of sun and moon at the time before it became even more valuable. Was grateful for that, some of the best times and swsh. ScarV hasn't quite done it for me yet tbh besides special sets. Favorites gotta be lost thunder, fusion strike, and cosmic eclipse.

Hey Danny I have a question, how do you figure out every single card there is in a set specifically reprints. I completed evolving skies master set in 2021 but in the last few years they make the Holiday cards with the stamp on it and they make cosmo holo versions and non holos of cards at later dates. I’m trying to make sure I have every single card that has the evolving skies icon on it but I always seem to be missing one
I would try using bulbapedia. They usually do a good job of including all the versions of a set and then separately will put out additional printings. Otherwise you could try the Collectr app
Does anyone know why hidden fates is a slowing growing market? It’s been about 5 years and I can still pick this set up a very decent price. Do you think paldean fates will be the same?

hidden fates is simply is the best set ever. all the favorite pokemon in one set. the newer sets got pokemon no one knows, and since hidden fates had all the favorites, they're gonna get repetitive.

I have the world’s largest hidden fates sealed collection. :) but my most prized possession of hidden fates is a sealed gyrados tin with the most miscut promo card. It literally has like 9 corners.

Everyone chases hype. No one wanted battle styles or chilling reign and now it’s going to the moon. Collectors of sealed and singles all just chase hype. Neither of them are innocent.
I came back with SV151. I missed out on SWSH. I enjoyed opening Celebrations, 151 and Paldea Evolved. If I experienced SWSH live: Team up with tag team cards, Evolving Skies and Crown Zenith.
Videos like this stir up fear and results in buyouts no? Prices start to rise after viewers get worried they’ll miss their chance and all run towards this set. Rinse repeat

Paldea Evolved, Crown Zenith, and Brilliant Stars. Sets with trainer gallery artwork cards absolutely changed the collection game.

Danny be careful with some sudden jumps. For the Umbreon Shiny GX, there was a PSA 10 card sold for 230 that distorted the chart.

Hidden fates is a very special set and pokemon tried replicating the success ever since with the shiny sets.
All the succeeding fates set were struggling because Pokemon did not understand what made HF worked.
