    This is a great video, very nice upgrading. Quick question, after you staggered the pole pieces on the alnico V pickups, did you have to rewax them or tape them so they stayed at the new height? Thanks!

      No, they are still pretty tight. A drop of wax on the bottom wouldn't hurt anyways! ;0)

    Loved everything but the fender logo .. man why did you just have a custom one made .. $7 on eBay for your OWN logo

      It was for a friend of mine, I wanted to make a custom one for it! I did on his bass though. He actually has a '79 black Strat like David Gilmours blackie but he likes playing this more -

    Nice video! I've got an old Squier Strat that i've always wanted to tinker with. Might give those pick ups a look. I was going to go for Vanson pick ups but might save my self a few quid instead, lol.

    Sensational job, and playing!
    Question: what's your view on upgrading the nut, tuners and string trees? It's hard to know the 'importance and priority' of some things. For eg 'purists' talk a lot about tonewoods but then you listen to comparison videos sometimes and there can be very little difference?

    • @GetawaysandGuitars
      @GetawaysandGuitars  3 года назад +2

      As long as the guitar plays and keeps in tune I don't normally change them, I might file down or change a nut but remember loads of Gibson's from the 70's had nylon nuts AND bridge pieces - some are well sought after nowadays! Pots and caps, yeah. I think 90% of the tone comes from the pup's and the electronics ;0)
