People used to ask: Stones or the Beatles … ? I said nothing but thought to myself… neither, The BeeGees. They were so much more than a (damn good) disco band.
@@1sandinista More accurately they should be referred to as an international band as they have had 3 long homes as professional musicians. They were born in the UK - established themselves here in Australia after migrating here as kids - they became international stars after moving back to the UK as teenagers - them conquers the US after recording and moving there around 1974/75

Those ridiculous falsettos notwithstanding, these guys were among the greatest songwriters in the history of music. Their sense of melody and harmony are almost unmatched.
These guys is not accurate ... Barry wrote the vast majority of their songs and many famous songs for other artist ...Not ROBYN or MAURICE ...BARRY WAS TO THE BEE GEES AS BRIAN WILSON WAS TO THE BEACHBOYS .
Not necessarily. I dislike opera but I can plainly see that it is an art that requires great skill and talent and that many people enjoy it enormously. It's really kind of silly to demonize anyone for having different taste than you. The Bee Gees like all entertainers have their supporters and their critics and it should not matter one bit to anyone who is a fan that others are not fans.
Man! Brian Wilson phones it in. Wtf.... these guys are iconic. They changed music back in the 60’s and 70’s into the 80’s. You can’t that about most today with all this rap, pop BS here today gone tomorrow crap. Such a shame.... they deserved better
It's a pretty well-known fact that Brian Wilson has struggled with serious mental health issues for most of his life, even becoming a recluse for long periods of time. The fact that he wanted to show up, write a speech and induct them is in itself a HUGE deal which the Bee Gees have mentioned that they were very honored by. It may seem Brian has a bad attitude and is "phoning it in" but that's really not the case at all, unfortunately that's the only way he can communicate.
@@SweetJeopardy I was going to point out as well. I too suffer from depression and anxiety. I also do a fair amount ofpublic speaking for my work and there is a special kind of dread when your symptoms are in the red zone and you have to stand in front of a whole lot of people who wish to hear you say something intelligent. In your head the audience is looking to boo you off the stage. Brian Wilson did great.
Brian Wilson doesn't phone it in. The effort that it took him to write those words and to walk out on that stage and say them is something that few people who haven't suffered from some form of mental illness could understand.
So thankful that all three of the Gibb brothers were alive when they were finally inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!
You can see Brian struggling, and the fact he did this shows his love for the band
People used to ask: Stones or the Beatles … ? I said nothing but thought to myself… neither, The BeeGees. They were so much more than a (damn good) disco band.
I'd rather listen to the Bee Gees than most of the other groups in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!
I wish they the Beach Boys and Bee Gees were still performing. They are so missed!!
BGs is amazing band ...
Love both the Beach Boys and the Bee Gees! Great induction speech from Brian!
Me, too.
So perfect having Brian inducting our boys. AND a double celebration that he was well enough to do it.
Indeed.
and three of the most genuine men in the industry.
I listen to The Bee Gees everyday, the eagles too. My hubby thinks I’m nuts but why bother listening to anything else 🤷🏻♀️
They certainly deserve it. Love these boys!!
So well deserved. and. past-due

@@1sandinista they were born in England and raised there, they lived in Australia for 2 years
@@paulhagan5170 They lived here for 8 or 9 yrs!!! They were professional entertainers here from about 62 till early 1967

Very good company to be in.
The best band ever
Nah, the beatles are best group ever!
Why didn't they let Robin and Maurice speak, only Barry speaking.....and he shushed Robin.....
Those ridiculous falsettos notwithstanding, these guys were among the greatest songwriters in the history of music. Their sense of melody and harmony are almost unmatched.
The falsettos weren't ridiculous at all and were key to their major success in the 1970s
Falsetto at that age is a very hard job, man.

Como quería entenderlo . 🇦🇷 Adoro Bee Gees Xfavor podrían traducir. Gracias
Whoever don't like the Beegees obviously knows nothing about music.

Were they ever at the rock n roll hall of fame in Cleveland?
Let the other 2 ones talk too
I know, right? Barry often did that to the twins... I wish Robin and Maurice would have gotten a chance to speak.
They deserved it.
What song is playing when they come out on stage?
Nights on Broadway
What song is playing when the Bee Gees come out?
Its not easy to unnderstand his words...
Moron

Lay off Brian. It probably was an ordeal for him. But he pulled through.

Shows how much you know!
Disappointing opening by Brian
Brian has been barely coherent for 50 years. The fact that he was up there at all to honor them is a feat in itself
