  • Scarlet robins are a small insectivorous bird, about 13 cm long. The male has a black head and upperparts with a white forehead patch, a bright scarlet chest, white belly, white wing stripes and white tail-edges. Female plumage is less vibrant and similar to the immature male.
    It is found from south-east Queensland to southeast South Australia, as well as Tasmania and
    south-west Western Australia.
    Scarlet Robins live in open forests and woodlands in Australia.

    Yes those Scarlet robins are beautiful little birds. They have a really nice character. We get to see a lot of them around our house. They compete with the Red-capped Robin for territory I think. I say that because both of them seem to keep to their little patch next to each other and sometimes cross over a bit but generally stay on their own turf. They are such lovely birds to have around the house. Some really nice footage in this video👍
