My low power LED lights flicker at low dimmer settings. This happens for different types of bulbs and both for in-wall and plug-in dimmers. I changed out the dimmer from a no-neutral model. In this video I show how adding dummy loads to the circuit can fix flicker in both situations. This video was not sponsored.

I bought some LED workbench lights that flicker horribly using the lamp module. Tempted to try this ....

One thing I didn’t try was putting multiple in series or parallel to see if it worked even better. Let me know how it goes!

I don't have flickering issues but I do get a humming sound with both the Caseta dimmer 'While being dimmed, ex at 50%' & the Lutron Sunnata dimmer. My home originally came with Leviton illumatech dimmers and they don't have any noise when being dimmed or when operating. Have you encountered an issue like this before? The dimming sound from the caseta dimmer is coming from the device itself, whereas the sunnatas come from the light fixtures.

I haven't experienced any audible noise from these dimmers. I've experienced that in past with wiring problems in the house as well as mismatch between the switch power rating and bulb power draw. What is your switch model and bulb combination? Interestingly, I took one of these plugin dimmers from Lutron and increased its current load until it bit the dust and it never produced any sounds I could hear: ruclips.net/video/Q-8-HrcFg8o/видео.html

not sure about the new ones but most of the lutron dimmers required a min of 50w load to opperate properly

The ELV dimmers with the neutral reference from Lutron work significantly better than their other dimmers but they cost $100 a pop and often require the bypass anyway. Ends up being really expensive

Sorry about that. I just checked on my end and it is still working. I'm pasting it again here just in case. You can also just search Amazon for "Direct-Wire Lighting Bypass, Fixes Light Flicker For UltraPro, Enbrighten, & Jasco Smart Dimmer Switches, 52327" www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08ZJQV7W2

It looks like it is currently not available from Amazon. Here is another one I have used, but is a few dollars more: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E9F084E

What a disaster this LED tech has turned out to be. I never imagined it would still be so bad even after many years of R&D. They seem to be getting worse, in fact... but I guess that is typical of government mandated products.

I agree, it is incredibly expensive with the end result being worse lighting
