Excellent video! Root is my favorite game and this is a great idea for players to watch to increase their awareness of the happenings of the board. Well done!
I just noticed something, at question 7 the marquise starts its turn with 6 cards. It received one previously from the vagabond, but when that happened it should have discarded down to 5 cards. Really nice quizzes! I was surprised with some vagabonds rules I got wrong. I was paying extra boots only when the hostil faction dominated a clearing, not when they were there…
Question... When the vagabond forms an aliance with a player, it is true that everytime he aids that player (gives him ONE card) - he (the vagabond) gains 2 victory points. My question is - does this apply only to ally players? Or does it apply to other players as well?
The player the Vagabond aids has to have reached "Allied" status to get the 2 VP. Until then, giving aid will move the relationship marker closer to "Allied" (unless they are "Hostile"), but it won't give the 2 VP. So the Vagabond player has to somewhat commit to that strategy for a while if they want to be gaining 2 VP from giving aid.
Is there a way to trigger the outrage with the vagabond? Even if he's hostile his pawn doesn't count as a warrior, but, there is no exception? I mean it's pretty powerful
Yes. There are two ways to cause outrage: 1) move warriors to a sympathetic clearing, or 2) remove a sympathy token. The Vagabond could cause it the first way by moving warriors he is allied with. The second way is probably more common -- by doing battle with the Woodland Alliance and causing a sympathy token to be removed.
Yes. Good eye. Someone noticed that a few months ago, so I the mentioned the mistake in the description. Unfortunately, I can't fix the video itself without having to delete it entirely and reposting. :(
Great video. Last question tripped me up. At the end of question 6, 15:40 , when the Vaga does his second aid to the WA, the 2+ points gets added to the WA marker on the scoreboard, not the vaga. Is that correct or just a slip-up of your part?
OMG, thanks for catching that. What a dumb mistake on my part -- I moved the green marker on the Relationship board, and then forgot to switch colors on the VP track. I'm trying to figure out how to fix it now.
@@ruleschallenge5573 Good thing you were able to find an easy solution for it. Reuploading would have been annoying. :( Also, just me, but if you take suggestion for future games, I would love to see a video like this based on "Fury of Dracula" (third or fourth version). A lot of rules in there.
That game is certainly complex enough to work in my format. It's going to take a LONG time, though, just to make videos for games already on my shelves. Hopefully you'll find some other games you like in the upcoming vids.
Great video! I really like this idea for a series. Good work friend :)
Such a good video. So many tricky rules I missed!

You only have to discard down to 5 at the end of your turn ; )
Love these videos, I just discovered your channel - would love you doing Oath, Dune Imperium, Star Trek Ascendancy. Thanks for these!!

Becoming allied with the Vagabond is lowkey a one sided relationship I don't think you can get any victory points from that

In question 6 you adjusted the alliance vp marker when the relationship status increased. Isn't it the vagabond that gets those points?

@@ruleschallenge5573 oh sry, should have read the description =S
Btw I love these videos, would really enjoy more of them. Very fun, very informative and unique to youtube.
Great stuff! You should do gaia project
Good suggestion! I got my hands on a copy just a few weeks ago, so it will happen sooner or later. :)

OK, I added a subtitle where I made the mistake. Hopefully that is enough to avoid messing people up. Thanks again for pointing that out.
