My Aunty worked ar Warner Bros. during World War II. She also was a Hollywood Canteen Hostess during that time. She told me how the biggest stars if they were not serving overseas were making sandwiches, bussing tables, and the entertaining the troops. A Soldier, Sailor or Airman could dance or chat with some of the biggest actresses of the day. They were let in for about an hour at a time, and the queue stretched all the way down the street.

I can only imagine the stories. One of these cases is almost entirely filled with stuff from one guy who would go there every day for about 6 weeks. Thank you for your glimpse into the past.
