Quad really went from dreaming of getting a 5 a few years ago to almost cracking a 10 from Fantano
i wouldnt say "almost cracking a 10" since anthony's given out over a hundred 9/10's reviews over the years and this one got a light 9. but still, quanka getting a 9 is fucking insane

Well TØP had a similar progression from a 4 to an 8 but after the 8 Fantano gave a 2 which may imply after a 10 it reverts back to a 1.

Ima be real. As much as I love Scrapyard and would give it a 9 as well. I still think I Didn’t Mean to Haunt You is his masterpiece and might be my favorite album of the decade.

feel like since scrapyard is a bunch of tracks that dont fit too well together it does throw me off a tad, while IDMTHY is so well thought just gives it the edge.

You know what I loved about it? Quad now sounding not only like an artist with "potential" but more so like a music conossieur who STUDIES HARD and actively _listens_ to critics
He doesn't have to, he could just "stick to his truth" and exploit his stylistic persona which is already familiar to a large fanbase
But he wants to be _more_ than that, all the respect to the man

@@BrokeAssassinwell one is conceptual and the other isn't. In terms of purely song for song I'm taking scrapyard 100% if I want to listen to something more deep and conceptual I'm taking IDMTHY. I think scrapyard is better because Quad is getting better so the writing and songs are just better and even then they're loosies. I don't think the difference is a 7 vs a 9 imo probably an 8 vs a 9 but I do think scrapyard is a little better.

It’s definitely the most formulaic and least produced. Incredible lyricism on it but I can see why fantano put it lower. I really liked it though

Quonker's growth as an artist has really been inspiring. It's not often you see a guy like Quadorka climbing up after having such a weird "youtube rapper career". I mean, Quinkie's basically making incredible Folktronica and this project is incredible. Great job Quorkalicious!

this is so cathartic and entirely deserved. the mixtape, even with some sparse low points, has higher highs than records from any of quad's contemporaries and even many high profile releases in the past few years. for a project of loosies, it genuinely blows me away to see him still growing and improving in every aspect. QUAD. DID.

I've been following Quadeca since long before that said good things about my tastes. I remember being consumed by the "RUclips rapper" community in high school, and Ben was always one of my favorites. I remember when Voice Memos came out and it was my favorite album for a long time afterwards. He released FMTY in a year I was evolving my music tastes significantly, as well as feeling some of the most intense loneliness and isolation I've ever felt. Right when i though I was gonna drop him with the other yt rappers, I fell in love with his music even more. It makes me really happy to see this evolution from Ben, as well as such a positive review from someone he respects so much. Keep killing it Quad

It's really crazy to think that the majority of songs are leftovers from IDMTHY and gets a higher score than the actual album. So excited to listen to this!

he's gonna get some flack for the guide dog take. my personal favorite (probably) and i know a lot of people feel the same way. easily the simplest sounding song on the project in terms of production, but the lyrics and vocals are so profound, sad and really dense. haunting in the most beautiful way. i can understand why it would seem underdeveloped in the context of the ep if he just gave the project a once over because it's so much more "singer songwritery" than the rest of the project but the production is effectively perfect in the context of the tone and lyrics. would prefer it be a little longer maybe but i don't really know where else the song could've gone

Guide Dog as your least favorite is an actual crime, but I'll forgive you because the review was so good. I really liked the part when you said the album was a "once in a quadrillion experience", and then clapped your hands excitedly for ten minutes.
I'm not gonna pretend to be a Quadeca day 1 fan. I used to think he was a cringy RUclips rapper that made occasional bangers, until he dropped IDMTHY. Ever since, I've been waiting on his next project, and holy heck man, I'm super impressed with Scrapyard. I've had these new songs on loop ever since it dropped. This new sound is seriously so addicting. I know he's been looking for Fantano's approval for a while now. I'm really happy he got a light 9 on this amazing work of art. Can't wait to see what he puts out next. Quad did, indeed.

i was todays years old when i found out about this music and iam in shock, its soo good. it goes very deep and i dont know what to make of it. the production is so rich in melodie and the lyrics are so honest and artsy... i wish i didnt hear the track "u tried that thing where you where human" ... it made me cry and i now dont know what to feel. very impressive art.
