The penalty for Rangers was 100% correct decision. People that say Johnston got the ball first, he didn’t. Silva played the ball onto his foot, at speed. Johnston had a split second to react, didn’t know anything about it, and raised his foot and caught Silva on the knee. You can clearly see on the replay when the ball hits Johnston’s foot, his foot is still planted on the ground. So he didn’t get the ball at all. He then raises his foot and catches Silva. Johnston did not win possession of the ball.
Only Celtic fans don’t believe it’s a penalty. All the neutrals say it was.
Could you imagine if it was the other way around, and VAR didn’t step in. Imagine if the same thing happened with Maeda.. and John Beaton gave a yellow card for diving, and VAR didn’t step in this time. Celtic fans would have had an absolute meltdown
