Protecting your capital is much more important than making money. Basically because if you lose your capital, making money is much harder. ''Missing the train'' vs. ''losing your money''. There are a lot of trains, but if your money is gone, it's over.

Three years ago, nobody could have foreseen the current state of the U.S. dollar. The U.S. continues to repeat the same mistakes that have led to the dollar's current situation. As a result, there's no guarantee that the dollar's future will be as bright as it's hoped to be.

Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions need urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth. Big government spending on sweetners and unicorns = higher taxes = higher inflation = government subsides to quell inflation, The rising interest rate can surely control inflation, but won't prevent erosion of the eroding purchasing power of the US dollar. I have learnt my lesson this time. The banks can't be making money off my money, while inflation eats into it. I have set aside 650k to invest in the stock market now, since that keeps up with inflation, but I don't know how to get started.

Inflation can have a significant impact on individuals and their cost of living. As a result, it can cause negative market sentiment. It is important for individuals and businesses to find ways to navigate and potentially mitigate the effects of inflation on their finances. Let's be very clear about one thing. The "market" has been massively wrong on what the Fed should do with the funds rate for at least 2.5 years now. In early 2022 before the Fed even started hiking, the market was already forecasting rate cuts to happen by end of 2022. The market at the start of 2024 had 7 rate cuts for 2024. Laughable to suggest the Fed is the one that has been getting this wrong. It has proven out that they were right to start hiking in early 2022, aggressively ramp up that funds rate, and then keep it at the terminal rate until now. Also, the Fed on numerous occasions has stated that a recession will likely occur as a result of this hiking cycle. The market consensus has been no or soft landing, which is another thing they will be massively wrong on.

Fear of insufficient future buyers of Treasurys is ridiculous. Today the Fed is running off their balance sheet and the long end of the curve has been securely inverted for over 2 years. If there was any fear of not enough buyers, the yields wouldn't be so low. Long Treasury demand is extremely strong at the moment. If it breaks down, mortages and other long duration lending will become even more unaffordable, business profits plumet, and demand for Treasurys will skyrocket, as they naturally always do as investors chase shrinking yields. The pendulum swung hard to higher rates, now we'll see it swing the other way.

Well, I do remember from studying Macroeconomics I. Graduate School that there is AN INVERSE RELATIONSHIP between interest rates and the price of bonds. In other words, as the value (or price) of bonds decreases, the level or rate of interest of bonds will increase.
So,if there is an oversupply of government bonds in the world market with fewer and fewer willing consumers, the price of government WILL DECREASE while the level or rate of interest in these government bonds WILL INCREASE
I just don't see any decrease interest rates of any kind on any kind of loan or financing as long as these particular economic circumstances continue to exist regardless of what political party is in control of the government.

Government deficit is not productive. It didn’t cause inflation for a decade, the change was that they used it to directly support people and business as well as halting our bills. The fed will of course become the buyer of bonds over time as we hold rates near 0, but if they just use that debt to pay things like SS we could still be in deflation just like Japan.

So, if you are paying $1 trillion in interest, about $230 billion is going outside the country, and there is no domestic stimulation factor whatsoever. Now, looking at Yellen’s version of a swap (QE), she intends to float a net new T-Bill issuance of $397 billion, or about 47% of all money raised. This is about DOUBLE the normal funding from T-Bills, reducing the long-term maturity as was the case when the Fed engaged in QE.
