I have planned an entire series of 2-3 minute Shorts with over 15 scripts so far, most with audio recorded already and 1 video uploaded on the 15th. They are centered around this extended length
are 3:00 exactly videos applicable? Vid IQ is saying 2:59. Also if I had one that is 3:01, edit it into a 2:59 video with the built in RUclips editor, will that convert it to short ?
Square as in 1:1 aspect ratio or square as in 4:3 aspect ratio? My phone camera has better quality and is wider in square format so I'm very excited for this. Seems like the youtube app still only lets you upload up to 60s, not 3 minutes. I'd like an update on this whole thing, even just to say it was postponed.

@mechanicgray they just turned almost all my videos into shorts, almost reached 4000 watch hours. Have to start from scratch now because 4000 watch hours from shorts is nothing for monetization.
Enable option to disable this. I don't want to see any shorts in my feed. I deleted Instagram and Facebook because of them. They fry your dopamine and reduce attention span

That'll totally not ruin the artistic vision of some creators who want their videos to be in 4:3. You say you want the creators to decide for themselves, yet you have a system that'll lump in those videos with shorts? Yeah, that's *definitely* giving choice to creators. Seriously, is a checkbox *that* hard to implement into the uploader so the creator can decide if they want their 2 minute 4:3 video to be a short? Oh, wait, this is RUclips we're talking about here, its webdevs don't know about checkboxes, even though it's 2024. The only things they know how to do are clutching on JavaScript for the entire site to load, and making dumb stupid decisions such as this one. Good thing i have disable youtube shorts extension.
2 questions: 1. Why can't you place ads to up to 3 minutes long short but you can into 3 minutes long video? 2. In my opinion, as a small youtuber I think you have a problem with recommendations for longer videos. Come on, we are invisible if you don't recommend our video!
