This video should be the FIRST video that anyone getting serious about sewing should watch. Without this video, it has taken me a couple years of fighting flat beds to realize that a cyl bed would have solved most of my problems. Super well done, and beautifully done video to boot. 👍
Fixing to make the purchase on a 4800pro this week. Will it have the new version of the table instead of the old version? As of what time did this change? Thanks Also I really enjoy your info and knowledge Ryan! Never mind! Pays to read all the comments! But I still really appreciate all your videos.
@@rcamoonpie648 great machine choice, for sure. You will have to confirm with techsew if they will ship your machine with the aluminum table or the wood one. The aluminum offering through techsew is my original version. I have since improved that version and sell it myself on Etsy.
That’s a very cool aluminum table. I prototyped one myself out of stainless steel for my old Necchi cyl arm whiched works well, although it is heavy. Congrats to you and Techsew.
Super, thank you so much, agree the customer service is outstanding. The pressure foot going over layers is a big sell point on the Techsew 4800 pro vs the 2750 pro. I just upgraded my order after watching a few videos out there. So, if anyone else is watching, the 2750 pro does not have the nob adjustment on the upper right side of the machine, as the 4800 pro does, you can adjust it, but you have to go to the back of the machine on the 2750 pro with a screw driver. Your video was very relaxing and informative to watch.
I love my 4800 pro! And Barbara Craig's flat bed table that she licensed to TechSew is awesome. Its an amazing machine -- now if I could only be as amazing as you are with your leather working!
I bought one of these machines about a year ago and I too hated the laser, thanks for the information you gave. One other issue I had with my machine was the way it was put together before Tec-sew shipped it. Tec-Sew assembles the machine head and then ships the unit in pieces with the table and remaining parts to complete the assembly. I had some fasteners missing from the boxes and some the things that were assembled had been cross threaded or damaged by over torqueing the fasteners. These are a sizeable investment and what it cost for the pro package I was less than impressed.
The deal breaker is, or was the last time I spoke with them, there is no USA distribution point, meaning, you pay shipping from Canada, and if anything goes wrong, you pay to ship it back to Canada. That puts some of us in a position of having only the Cowboy or Cobra left. Which may be fine, I just like to have options. And I really don't want a red/brown machine!
Curious about the bed length difference between the 5100 and 4800 which are 16.5"and 10.5"respectively. In your review of the 5100 you were saying the generous bed length was a real advantage. Are you happy with the 10.5"of the 4800 or are you missing the 16.5"? Greetings from BC.
Total newbie question - If you’re just starting out, is it possible to use a regular sewing machine to sew leather or is that asking too much of the machine?
hi there thank you for your amazing share again. so how do you compare your 669 and this ? I'm looking for a machine for the wallets and handbag.thank you
Hi Ryan, very cinematic video as always :) I'm trying to sew a THICK gusset (just under 3/4") by hand. I don't have room for an industrial machine with a table - do pressure foots even really go that high or did I not skive enough? I'm used to making small wallets and stuff by hand.. not bags.
Hi Ryan, great machine and review! Wondering though, why did you get this machine when you already had the Adler 669. The Adler seems to be able to do everything the Techsew does if not more. Would be very interested to know if there are any pros that the Techsew has over the Adler. Cheers and keep it up!
Nice, I ordered a 5100 special edition a couple weeks ago, still waiting. Quick question have you done any vids on your packaging and shipping? I thought I watched a vid you did on it but cant find it now.
I am very new and never sew leather yet but want to look into it and this machine after your reviews makes me want one. This is probably a silly question but based on your other reviews can you tell me if the motor is a Brushless Servo Motor? Thank you.
Great video and very helpful. I am currently researching sewing machines and this sounds like the one I want! I did have a question, was that flatbed designed just for you? Or is it an optional item? I am only seeing the original one in the product photos on the site. Thx!
The aluminum table comes with new sales of Techsew machines as of about a week ago. I am the designer of the tables and am so happy to see the interest in them.
Would you recommend a Cobra Class 26 or a Jack S5 for sewing on leather hat patches? I know you get 1,000s of these type questions, but I'm a long time viewer and value your opinion. Thanks and have a great day.
Hey Ryan, I recently got my own industrial sewing machine and have been trying to fine tune my work since. What thread size and needle size do you use?
That's a phenomenal idea about the flat table attachment...it's the only thing I don't like about both of my machines. @techsew - where can someone get the metal flat tables for the 2600 Pro Narrow and 5100 Pro cylinder machines? Thanks, Ryan!
Barbara Craig is the one who made that table attachment. She has one that fits the 5100 if you go to her Etsy page Recent Relics Designs. Not sure about the 2600 though!
Hey, yes they are quite different in the way the feel and sound. They both produce very similar results. The techsew is much cheaper and made in China and the 669 is made in Germany with more premium components.
Hey Ryan my name is Cade Bryan, I am a student minoring in business and for one of my classes I have been tasked with performing an entrepreneurial case study. A little background of me I am attending flight school with a minor in business and I am a leather hobbyist thanks to you! With the tec sew 4800 machine What do i need to get going. Thread size, how many bobbins, light. I need four different colors. What am asking how to get the parts needed. Do you have a list to help out or Is there someone that I could call to get what I need. Thank you for helping.

This is what I was thinking as well. At what point do you have to remove 'handmade' from your product description? Of course, the other side of the coin is I'm pretty sure Gucci isn't making handbags by hand Just my opinion of course.
@@ffaubert1 nope Gucci is by machine. As with most high end leather bags. You cannot handsew 2 10 oz hides, hemmed in before or after skiving. You need a machine. Especially when sewing liners. Either way its a labor of love i appreciate machine of hand sewn.
how you compare this with juki and say juki is louder, when your machine (techsew 4800) its literally juki 1341 with different name.. and juki 1341 its a literally 1541 with cylinder arm? its all the same machines. so how this one can be quite

@@LittleKingGoods Good afternoon, if it doesn’t make it difficult, tell me in which profile the filmed video?
The needle position is an add on it you have a dc motor with the box, thirty bucks. Can retro fit most machines.
Could you possibly do a video on how you go from idea to production? I find myself always going 0-100 without hitting the “rest stops”.
