    Mods you can do:
    Remove internal control chip (like you do on "Cree" LED flashlights)
    Swap white and red LED so it starts at red first then white, instead of the opposite

      I've thought of swapping the LEDs, but I did not think of removing the chip. Perhaps I'll have to explore it when I do the teardown video. Thanks for the comment.

      Removing the chip results in much better battery life (if the controller is so terrible it can't limit the current), or less frustration.
      You can do this even if it's the dreaded blob chip; drill or sand it down to kill the chip then connect the LEDs to appropriate current limiting resistor or use external chip to handle the MOSFET switching duties with brand new functions.

    I just bought the 400 lumens and the middle battery component is loose. The battery rotates easily and comes loose after a few light shakes. Anyone know how to fix this?
