Oh that is cool about pomades. I DID try five of 'em a little over two years ago (Royal Crown bought online; plus Royal Crown Hair Dressing, Black & White made infamous from Elvis I believe plus Murray's Superior & NuNile which is also from Murray's) and honestly since I didn't like the three western shirts I had to replace plus a novelty Marilyn Monroe comforter I also had to re-order, as well as my hair being super greasy & flopping, I discontinued the usage myself. Also didn't like that I had to pop pimples for two straight weeks before they were gone. Personally my traditionally Fine hair type is NOT meant for pomades at all; more for hair gel. But alas to each their own I always say, as our hair types are different! :) Just found pomade overrated & quite shitty for my hair type, personally.
Hey Joe, I haven't forgotten about the drawing, I've just been so busy with academics lately. So don't get the wrong idea. Great video, keep them coming! (:
iworkout1234 What colour is your hair? Cause yeah on some hair it looks great but that's why I said "my hair" cause I'm ginger so it just doesn't work cause its turns really dark :L
"Waxes will work from thin all the way to thick hair, DEPENDING WHICH KIND YOU GET"... well there you have it, now I've got it all figured out. I appreciate the attempt, but the whole hair product industry is completely fucked. I am a white male with a good head of hair, I'm not young (anymore), and I still have no fucking clue. I mean, "depending which one you get" doesn't help. If I am speaking for the average male that hasn't spent many hours using a blow dryer or in a salon, how the fuck are we supposed to go through every damn brand, of EACH category, to determine this shit. Even after a damn tutorial, still clueless
I have very thick/heavy and wavy hair. Every product that I have used, so far, Hanz De Fuko's quicksand (which doesn't go great with my hair, it is really hard for my hands to comb through it after I put it in, and my hair doesn't stay in place for long) Hanz De Fuko's Modify Pomade (which worked OK with my hair but it couldn't hold my hair in place that much, curls formed after my hair dried when I used it with damp hair and it didn't really go great with my hair when it was dry), I just bought Rusk's Str8 from your other video but I don't know if I was doing it right- my hair still waved/curled at the ends. Last but not least, I am now using Layrite's Deluxe Pomade (Regular Hold) and it is also still giving showing the curls in my hair after it dries. My curls don't show as much when I thin out my hair or get a trim, but it thickens up fast. I was wondering what product you recommend to work well with my hair. I am trying to achieve a versatile look, where it can look wet and still be comb-able throughout the day. I also want to figure out how to prevent my hair from parting in the middle towards the middle of the day after it is finished getting styled. Thanks man, appreciate the videos! Stay cool.
I have short but thick hair and my hair is naturally really straight. I want something with long hold that will stay for the whole day. So what product should I use? Plz help
You need to use CLAY! I use clay with strong hold but no shine (I use local ones like bench clay doh, Grips wax (that brown one) and etc.) because, I got medium thick hair and straight (just like Joe's) and it helps to hold the hair's position. My brother us them too, even though he had curly and super thick hair. Trust me, it'll help 😁.
Use V05 extreme style texture rework putty you can get it from tesco and it stays for the whole day you can also keep restyling it throughout the day because it does not ever dry up
This video helped alot. I always used gel. I go for a slick back hairstyle and noticed that gel was not working out. Someone mentioned Pomade and never knew what it was. This video helped. Thanks
Finally, Finally, Finally someone has made a video that describes what each and every hair product does or what's it for. Thanks BluMaan. Now I officially know what Pomade, wax, and clay are and do to hair. Gel will always be gel and I also began with Gel. Now I've try everything and so far Pomade by Crew is working better for me. Always subscribe and like BluMaan.
Everyone says to stay away from Axe hair products which is probably a good idea, haha, but I'm curious- why? What is it about Axe hair products that is so subpar?
Thanks Joe!! My friends always ask me why I use different types of products on my hair and this video explains exactly why so I'll show this to them so they'll understand!! Another great vid and thumbs up :)
Hello!! +BluMaan I'm from india. every product you show that is very expensive in india. Can you tell me another similar products which is cheaper & available in india? Thnx Waiting for your reply..............
Would like you suggestion - Which product out of these four is best for thin hair? You seem to point to Wax as being good for thin hair, if thats the case then how should I choose one particular brand of wax for thin hair?
Well if you want your hair to be defined and not frizzy, you should go for the gel. Apply that on soaking wet hair, wait for it to dry and shake your roots outs and scrunch your hair to remove the crunch :)
Hey Joe how do you get product out of your hair? Is there a specific shampoo you use? Also, do you use product everyday, if you do how do you not shampoo everyday and still get the gunk out of your hair?
I have spiker hair glue and I hate this shit, it dries after 5 mins of application and gets extremely dry/crunchy/hard to manage. I can't even run my fingers through my hair after this product has dried in. Can't wait to try out a hair clay.
Try a wax,it's pretty good and be care you don't apply too much on the top of your hair.Try to get the roots fixed into place. You won't have problems with crunchy hair(I've been there, the gel I was using then was pretty bad,but the main problem was that I didn't know how to apply it).
I have blonde hair that is very fine and I found that clay and creams work well. Products that add shine make my hair super greasy looking. Thanks for all your videos blu maan!
BluMaan whats your favourite product? out of all of these what would you recommend if someone has hair somewhat as thick as yours, great job on the videos keep it up
Is clay the best product for getting a bit of hold without a wet look? I'd like to get a short back and sides and spike my hair on the top, but I don't want to use gel because I don't like the greasy, wet look. Would clay be the best product for this?
Haha, don't ever use gatsby. They're super hard to wash off and they're the only hair products available in my country for men hair styling . It's a wax type with creamy texture and makes your hair oily. I'm residing in Singapore and right now I normally use Hanz De Fuko as my main hair product (: super awesome .
Rimperfections what kind of Gatsby hair wax did you use ? I use the Moving Rubber Grunge Mat. Giving me the mat look while have a strong hold. I from Malaysia so we are neighbours :)
Haha I've tried moving rubber too . All kinds . Green pink blue brown . But I realized gatsby makes your hair very oily and difficult to wash off . Whereas professional hair styling products like hanz de fuko contains many organic natural products which you could just leave in without washing for a second day hair :) Quicksand works as a dry shampoo too .
Rimperfections where do u buy hdf?! I'm also from spore and I wanna try it :)). Yea I'm Gatsby coz I'm a student and Gatsby is cheap as hell so its a good alternative for those who have a budget constraints, but for your hair, I don't think we should be stingy.
i use grunge mat and spiky edge. i have to say that they are really good products except the fact that they arent washable. it doesnt make my hair oily!
Hanz de fuko quicksand, by vilain dynamite clay, orginial by blumaan (for any type of hair), kevin murphy night rider, morris motley treatment styling balm,...
Mr Joe, can you help me? Im kinda digging the messy hairstyle, but because I blow dry and use a straightener, my hair is pretty dry. Any tips for avoiding the dry hair? And also, whats a good product for a natural (!!) looking messy hairstyle? The product must have some hold, but not too much. I still want to be able to redo some things during the day haha. I hope you can help!
I don't know if I want to go full slicked back 50's job,it's much easier and suits my hair down to the ground, but I like the way my hair looks with some quality spikes in it...
Two questions two: I have a little bit wide forehead like you, do you ever felt awkward to show it all? My hairdresser told me that wax, pomade and clay offer only shine, not hold like gel does, and this seems to represent my hair. WHat do you think about it?
Thank you for making this vid. Since I gave my husband that undercut haircut, I just can't find the right product to style his hair. I really don't like wax or pomade, nothing that makes it shiny. I actually got him the AXE messy look and it worked but I want to find a better, I guess, high end product. Very informative though!
Hey Joe! Question here, which combination of products do you think works best the one in this video "Big sexy hair volumizing gel" and "Hanz de Fuko Claymation" or the "Joico Spiker Styling glue" with "Claymation" from your first video (I think). Is there any difference between the two? Thanks
BluMaan plz tell clays are the best for thick, heavy and long hair? Like right now, I'm using Pomade, and tbh, it's not giving that much hold. Plz reply.
BluMaan How do you compare American Crew products with Hanz de Fuko products? For example, is there a big difference regarding quality between American crew Fiber and Hanz de Fuko Claymation. I am asking because the difference in price is big, maybe because Hanz de Fuko is kind of new in the market compared to American Crew and I kind of have a tight budget right now
Hi, I wanna ask you some question. Important question for me. Can we use the pomade or wax with clay at the same time? I hope you'll help me and all your viewers.
+BluMaan I have a doubt - How to remove hair products the next day? or Should we use Shampoo and Conditioner to remove hair products, as they are hard to remove with water alone?
Hi +BluMaan, Quick question, I used to have a very low fade and rocked that style for a while. So this is the reason why I have no idea about hair styling products. I enjoy slicking my hair back with a good hold, dont want it crunchy or to hard. I currently use ted bakers Hair Wax which is good but some days some hair strands dont slick down. Im just looking for a spray application that can nourish my hair over time whilst giving hold. what do you suggest?
So what's the difference between wax and paste? I want one that will hold my hairstyle the whole day and look the most natural? Which should I choose for that application?
I wish I would have known all of this when I had my undercut; which is strange because your videos inspired me to cut my hair in the first place lol. Your video is probably the most helpful one as to understanding the actual differences(: thanks!
Like you said, gel is the first product I got to know about and remains the only hair product I have used. Would you please do a video on styling with hair gel? Thanks.
If I'm supposed to get 2-3 hair styling products, which 3 would you recommend? Like if possible these few styling products can help me cover almost any hairstyles on any occasions?
Hey Blumaan I've having some problems with finding the right styling products and types. So I'm wondering if you know or think with kind of product types/brands would you recommend for coarse, straight, thin (hair strand), thick (in amount) asian hair. Thanks !
which hair product should i use for curly hairs which r big in size. in future i would like to straighten up my hair and get a pony tail . so which one should i use?
Hi, I'm have medium size hair. It's very thick and frizzy. I want to achieve a look like zayn Malik's but I want to be able to grab it throughout the day without losing shine. Any recommendations? Shampoo ? Conditioner ? Pomade ? Wax? Thank you so much
Hey Joe! Do you reckon Claymation is the best out of the 'clay' products? And how long do you think the tub of product would last for? Thanks and keep up the awesome videos! :)
Hey Joseph, loving all your videos. This video was very helpful in choosing different products for my hair. However, you didn't mention anything about hair putty. Is it similar to any of these products or is it a different type of product? Hoping to hear from you soon.
Hey Joe, you always seem to talk about blow drying the opposite way your hair grows. I'm having trouble finding that out and how to do thay. Any tips? Please this means a lot. Btw love your hair!
Question: Are are you holding that hair up all day? I'm currently using CLAY (normal retail stores) and hairspray but in a couple of hours it jsut drops...
Do you reckon you will be making a full tutorial on how to get a messy/beach like hairstyle because i'd really love to be able to style it like that :) , like something similar to your hairstyle when you where demonstrating Hanz de Fuko Quicksand in a short clip , because i think that hairstyle looks awesome! btw love your videos man :D
Hi! can i suggest if u can make a video of hair products you use? i mean like... those products you use depending on the category (wax, pomade, clay, gel etc.) or all of those you showed us are already the ones you bought and usually use(?) and if so, can you give also the websites from where can I buy? 'cuz i live here in europe so surely some of it aren't available here (i'm guessing that those are american brand if i'm not mistaken) [i'm not sure if you understand, i hope you do :)) ]
Hey Joe. What would be the best to use if you have medium length hair on the top that is dry and wavy and im going for a disconnected undercut look ? Thanks
What's the best out of these for thinner hair? My hair isn't too thick but is on the thinner side...wich category do I use? A swift response would be greatly appreciated.
great vids. hope you go even further with them. I have the same type hair. which cream are you pre blow drying with? I'll get the claymation but am kinda curious how sponge wax would be too.. thanks again!
wax & fiber = messy/texture
pomade & paste = wet look/slickback
clay = make hair stand up
gel = spiky
honestly, i dont think anyone really uses gel in 2014. that stuff was horrible
Actually gels are actually not that bad and is actually really good.
Ay Carajo didn’t know alcohol was good for your hair 🤷♂️
Le Darkside Le Pete and Pedro says otherwise my friend Pete and pedro Gel my friend
What about putty
Daud Aslam putty is similar to wax and fibers since both are waxed based
it would have been great if you showed how each product look on your hair. just describing is making me confused about difference.
No point because his hair is different from yours, so it will be a different result
suncu91 alpham made a vid like this, I suggest watching it

I agree and also with regards to race because different races have different hair. I think it can be done without offending anyone.

Two questions two:
I have a little bit wide forehead like you, do you ever felt awkward to show it all?
My hairdresser told me that wax, pomade and clay offer only shine, not hold like gel does, and this seems to represent my hair. WHat do you think about it?
When applying or rinsing out hair products, do you lose any hair? If so, what's the general range?
Thanks
I am asking because the difference in price is big, maybe because Hanz de Fuko is kind of new in the market compared to American Crew and I kind of have a tight budget right now
Hi Joe, how come your hair is so shiny while you use claymation? It doesn't provide any shine or does it?
Hi, I wanna ask you some question. Important question for me. Can we use the pomade or wax with clay at the same time? I hope you'll help me and all your viewers.
What would you consider Hanz De Fuko Quicksand? And also what would you recommend for a high volume messy look, Claymation or Quicksand?
+BluMaan I have a doubt - How to remove hair products the next day? or Should we use Shampoo and Conditioner to remove hair products, as they are hard to remove with water alone?
Okay. That was a good demonstration. But which product is best of all?
+BluMaan
Hi +BluMaan, Quick question, I used to have a very low fade and rocked that style for a while.
So this is the reason why I have no idea about hair styling products. I enjoy slicking my hair back with a good hold, dont want it crunchy or to hard.
I currently use ted bakers Hair Wax which is good but some days some hair strands dont slick down.
Im just looking for a spray application that can nourish my hair over time whilst giving hold. what do you suggest?
So what's the difference between wax and paste? I want one that will hold my hairstyle the whole day and look the most natural? Which should I choose for that application?
my Hanz De Fuko claymation and quicksand arrived by mail! kudos to you +blumaan can't wait to get my hair done did
Hey man, do you buy all these products yourself or companies send you some of them?
Hi, I need some opinion of which to use for dry curly hair. Which one you would suggest? Thank you! 😊
Which one of these is the best. And at what occasion should we use which ??
I wish I would have known all of this when I had my undercut; which is strange because your videos inspired me to cut my hair in the first place lol. Your video is probably the most helpful one as to understanding the actual differences(: thanks!
Like you said, gel is the first product I got to know about and remains the only hair product I have used.
Would you please do a video on styling with hair gel? Thanks.
If I'm supposed to get 2-3 hair styling products, which 3 would you recommend? Like if possible these few styling products can help me cover almost any hairstyles on any occasions?
Hey Blumaan
I've having some problems with finding the right styling products and types. So I'm wondering if you know or think with kind of product types/brands would you recommend for coarse, straight, thin (hair strand), thick (in amount) asian hair.
Thanks !
I love how he's so into hair and taking care of it yet still I have no doubt at all that he's straight. Thats so attractive

Hey Joe! Do you reckon Claymation is the best out of the 'clay' products? And how long do you think the tub of product would last for?
Thanks and keep up the awesome videos! :)
What would be best to use for a hairstyle like yours, but just for the every day use? Would wax or Pomade be best?
Does any of these product harm your hair? Especially if you leave it in for a night or too? But using dry shampoo
Can I mix pomade ,wax, clay all in the same time?
Do you reckon you will be making a full tutorial on how to get a messy/beach like hairstyle because i'd really love to be able to style it like that :) , like something similar to your hairstyle when you where demonstrating Hanz de Fuko Quicksand in a short clip , because i think that hairstyle looks awesome! btw love your videos man :D
Hi! can i suggest if u can make a video of hair products you use? i mean like... those products you use depending on the category (wax, pomade, clay, gel etc.) or all of those you showed us are already the ones you bought and usually use(?)
and if so,
can you give also the websites from where can I buy?
'cuz i live here in europe so surely some of it aren't available here
(i'm guessing that those are american brand if i'm not mistaken)
[i'm not sure if you understand, i hope you do :)) ]
have you tried using the hairbound shaper? do you think shaper and moulder would be great for thick hair?
Hey Joe. What would be the best to use if you have medium length hair on the top that is dry and wavy and im going for a disconnected undercut look ? Thanks
Which is the best styling product for chemically staraightned hair. Which one would you recommend me??
What's the best out of these for thinner hair? My hair isn't too thick but is on the thinner side...wich category do I use? A swift response would be greatly appreciated.
