Not to take away from the work you've done with the elm, but I feel morally obligated to say… I couldn’t resist clicking on the video because of the thumbnail with the cat! You should definitely feature him more often-he’s a total added value to your videos. Your neighbor’s got a natural talent for capturing the feline audience’s attention! 😂
My sister has a cat with extra toes, but nowhere near to a full double paw, they're called polydactyl cats. I know they used to be "good luck" on ships, and that Hemmingway was a BIG fan of them and kept a ton. Anyway, absolutely gorgeous tree as always! Thank you for the wonderful content!!
Your videos are always informative and a pleasure to watch. This time it's even more special. She clearly feels safe and welcomed in your environment. Who wouldn't?
I think the cat and I are on the same page. We both rewarded you with a “like”. Wish I could repot my Chinese Elm, but where I am better to wait for the spring. Nice video!
Some mornings I feel "old and lumpy and ugly." Would you prune me away! I agree with your choice of front and with your positioning. Your friend keeps coming back like a bad dream . . . this is the way I tease my helper cat. Yesterday he was jumping in my raked leaves.
Good instructional overview of trimming and repotting. I “like” that Elm ! I would possibly consider a slightly larger square or round ceramic pot to showcase the current and future surface roots. I know you said it is the neighbor’s cat, but as much as it wants to be with you while working on your bonsai, it really likes you and your attention it receives. Oh, and think he’s helping you decide what/how to trim it. 😸
I only mean this as a funny story that happened to me. I also have neighborhood cats that occasionally leave me mice that they have hunted. …and then a friend told me, that they leave them for me because the cat doubts my hunting ability and is actually trying to feed me.
Could be just an anomaly. Sometimes human has extra fingers or toes too...but occurs randomly. good to wonder...and experiment...and try new things with your bvonsai
In zone 7. East Coast. Temperature is about 45 degrees. Do you think I could report my elms now or should wait till winter. They are currently in my outside green house. Thanks in advance for advice.
You can tell a lot about people by their relationships with animals. ❤
Agree. Cat = steering wheel cover.
I have to think about that, not a good fad for cats....🙂
Kitty likes Bonsai .
This is my favorite bonsai video ever, with lucky 🐈!❤
Glad you like it..please tell a friend.

omg... That cat is way too friendly! xD I recently lost one of my cats back in October which was tragic but I'm sure she's in a better place now. :)
I'm sorry to hear that
I am enjoying your furry apprentice
I hope my video too 🙂

The cat could be a Hemingway polydactyl cat. Descended from Ernest Hemingway's multi-toed cats.
You arll read. 🙂
hes been wondering what he can use his extra toes for

Really?
🙂
@ I never researched to see if that’s true, I don’t want to ruin that image in my mind 😂
So do you think fall repotting is better than spring repotting? Or is it just your zone doesn't have very dramatic temperature changes?
thanks for reminding me that ai should always add: Repot in spring in areas with cold winter.
I think the double paw is just a genetic defect but I’m not certain.

Thanks!
👍👌🙂

I have a branch growing inside the S curve of my Chinese Elm, should I remove it?
Only if you can explain why it is natural...
the point is the intent is not to sterotype any group...including bonsai
🙂
Bonsai cat
Thanks!
lol
🙂
Thanks!
Halo...
