I can only imagine what her career would have been like if she could have had a long one spanning decades. The music we would have! I'm grateful have have what we do though.
You have to hear (react to) Seven Lonely Days & Lovesick Blues, Pasty was a red hott Mama; before they turned her into a balladeer. Her favourite recording was Faded Love, because of her voice catching (with emotion) in the recording (she was so excited after the session- according to dear friend Dottie West). Of course there is still Sweet Dreams, If You've Got Leaving On Your Mind and her version of You Made Me Love You (which has been covered by many) but sung like no other, by yours truly (she put her stamp on that song). She does an amazing job on most all her recording. Just Out of Reach is also another great.
Patsy clearly understood how to use the microphone to convey emotions...and also elicit them from her listeners. In my humble opinion...very few artists have that ability.
Shawn and Mel…I know how much you both love Patsy and Leann Rimes. A few years back, Leann was on the Country Music Awards and sang a tribute to Patsy, singing a medley of her songs. I think you both would really enjoy it! Thank you and God Bless!
Please do her song Crazy next it’s her best in my opinion. You can feel the pain in her voice and it was written by willie Nelson . One of her biggest hits!
For the VERY BEST of Patsy Cline, listen to “Faded Love”, especially the last 6 or 8 seconds of it. It’s iconic, just no other word for it. It’s an old Bob Wills tune- Bob was an absolute legend of Western swing music, but nobody else sings that song like Patsy, no one.
It doesnt matter what you listen to by Patsy, sad or happy. Patsy gives allshe has to that song. Patsy felt & lived each song as she was singing it. Its great you are discovering the legends of Country Music. It makes me so happy you're enjoying the journey.
This song brings me right to in iconic Thanksgiving classic movie “Planes Trains and Automobiles” and a classic dialogue between Steve Martin and John Candy. 😅😂🤣😆
When you do "Crazy" please be sure to listen to the studio version, the video performance that a lot of people react to just does not have the sound quality that Patsy's voice deserves, thanks. 😇
Patsy was a wild child. Watch "Sweet Dreams" about Patsy Cline's life. Includes some about Loretta Lynn also. Patsy took a young, naive Loretta under her wing and showed her the ropes.
another little rabbit hole from the era might include Gary U.S. Bonds doing New Orleans and a Quarter to Three and of course there's that whole Twist thing from Chubby Checker and all the songs that sprung from and around it .....including Dee Dee Sharp and slow twistin', and Joey Dee and the Starliters doing the Peppermint Twist,,,,, all great vibes and you must dance. So Thanks again for your time in this era and enjoy the holidays with great music....Patsy just can't be beat...she's great.
Patsy Cline was a caring person. Back then, country music performers were mostly men, and women were just considered the "girl singer". Patsy wanted to change that. She helped the young up and coming female country singers such as Dottie West and Loretta Lynn, either financially or with giving advice on clothes and make-up and on how to perform better on stage. Just before she was killed in that tragic plane crash, she gave Dottie West her scrapbook she kept of all of her concert ad clippings and notices. Later, Dottie found enclosed in the book, a check Patsy had written her with a note telling her that she heard that Dottie and her husband at the time had fallen on hard times and this was money for their rent.
Mel your so pretty and Shawn is so handsome. You too compliment each other so much. I can just feel the love between you two. Thank you for bringing joy to this world . It surely is needed and I appreciate you both. Merry Christmas to you 🎄🎅❤
Shawn and Mel, one of history’s most iconic song is “Faded Love”. There have been many that have recorded this very emotional story, including Patsy. It is a song you Must Feel and Witness! Please react to: Ray Price - Faded Love Ray is another Country Legend.
just a humble, tough, great voice, an American Classic outta Winchester, VA God Bless her influence on music and setting the stage for true female voices!
Patsy is one of these artists that I often think about how many more great hits she would've had! My favorites you haven't done are: "Blue Moon of Kentucky", "Faded Love", "Sweet Dreams", "Lovesick Blues", "3 Cigarettes in the ashtray", and "A Poor Man's Rose (or a Rich Man's Gold)"!
DEFINATELY react to...Crazy....and you will never guess who wrote it.....Willy Nelson, and he periodically sings it still but because Patsy released it.....everyone thinks Willy is doing a cover to Patsy's song....but it was actually Willy's from the beginning....after you react to Patsy singing Crazy flip over to Willy Nelson live in 1992 singing his song Crazy....
Thank you for this lesser known song. You still have Sweet Dreams to go and it is beautiful. When you told Mel you wanted her to be holding you tight, I immediately thought of Perry Como's song: Hot Diggity Dog Ziggity. You might enjoy that one, too
❤️🥰❤️ Hello S & M SQUAD, HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!! ☃️❄️🎄⭐️ I LOVE YOUR REACTION!!! ⭐️ Patsy’s voice is PERFECTION!!! The way she can pull the emotion out of every person, through her music and lyrics, and that VOICE . . . ITS A TRIFECTA OF ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!! ⭐️ 🎄❄️ Wishing you and your Family. Roseanne Cash, Sean Colvin, and Mary Chapin Carpenter perform a Bob Dylan song live on stage, called you ain't going nowhere. Is so pretty I think you guys would like it.
I drive a school bus; and whenever the mechanics take it away from me it's usually gone for a few weeks while they're fixing it. When I'd hear that I got it back; this is the song I'd sing!
A friend dad was an MC on the scene in D C where she played a lot and Winchester Va where she was from , Elkton a bit also the M C past and son got a box of photos of her playing at a moose club , and a LOT of other stuff
I absolutely love Patsy Cline.💘 Whenever you you guys crawl out of that rabbit hole, here are a few more to consider, and I mean a few. (Doesn't even scratch the surface😜) The Turtles, The Grass Roots, Badfinger, The Band, The Beach Boys?, The BeeGees?, Billy Joel, Blondie, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, The Box Tops, Buckinghams, The Cars, The Cowsils, The Supremes, Donovan, The Doors, Dusty Springfield, ELO, Elton John, The Everly Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Four Tops, Four Seasons. Whew!! I had to skip a bunch otherwise I would still be in the Bs and Cs. 😂 Pick any of them and I'd be happy. 👍👍 Not satisfied, but happy. 😉 God bless. 😎 Edit: What happened to the Christmas songs??
I can only imagine what her career would have been like if she could have had a long one spanning decades. The music we would have! I'm grateful have have what we do though.
Sweet dreams. Wonderful song by Patsy, please listen. One thing I love about Patsy is you can feel the emotion she sings with.
YESSS…please!!! Sweet Dreams is incredible!
Tommy MClain has an AWESOME cover of Sweet Dreams
Can never tire of listening to her beautiful superb voice! And she was such a beauty! I would never have hurt her.
They said she had perfect pitch. Amazing voice.
My favorite Patsy song ❤️
One of her more upbeat, true country numbers. No matter what she sung, you felt it.
Patsy’s- You Belong To Me is another must listen
The best female vocalist EVER!
Ok, folks, now that you've heard the rest you need to hear her most famous song "Crazy". This is her greatest one. Thanks for all the music.
Think they have done it already
They did, one of their first Patsy reactions. Still waiting for them to do Sweet Dreams
my fav is If You've Got Leaving On Your Mind
Crazy was written by Willie Nelson!
There is a wonderful movie about her life- Sweet Dreams.
You have to hear (react to) Seven Lonely Days & Lovesick Blues, Pasty was a red hott Mama; before they turned her into a balladeer. Patsy Cline stands alone.
I'm from UK been into Punk since age 13 in 1978 still am but Patsy is my favourite female vocalist she had most Sexy voice ever.
Patsy is still legend! Great reaction!!!
There is a video taped live of Patsy cline in 1962. The song is Why Can't He be You. It's a must see!
I'm really enjoying your reactions to Patsy Cline.
"Leaving On Your Mind", "Sweet Dreams", "She's Got You", "Why Can't He Be You"....❤❤❤❤
Sweet Dreams is one of my favorites. Plus you can hear those Patsy pipes in that one.
Sweet Dreams by Patsy is a must listen.
Please do her song Crazy next it’s her best in my opinion. You can feel the pain in her voice and it was written by willie Nelson . One of her biggest hits!
Patsy was the best, she was a hard drinking, fast paced woman before anyone!
Such a shame we lost her so soon. My favorite song by her is Strange. You guys must listen to it.
A legend and always will be!
Wow her band is super amazing!
I like the call & response of her voice with the backing strings.

She's back in baby's arm's .
God bless your Mom.

I love that you are exploring older songs. BTW, Patsy is the bomb! I love her music.
Just want to thank you both for opening your hearts to songs and artists of yesterday.

31 years old when a plane crash took her life. Far, far too soon....SAD. Loved your reaction.

They played this a little bit in Planes, Trains, Automobiles movie with Steve Martin and John Candy. It was funny!!!😆
