At that time it was a MMO, but quickly after they pivoted to singleplayer. They’ve been making and refining the single player experience for at least five years, with a dedicated engine SPECIALIZED for it. And with vast funds from their MMO! An open world, with a tailored engine, seven years of work, and hundreds of employees working on all aspects. 😮😮😮

Pearl Abyss is that one friend that needs to constantly one up to compete in conversations. But every time they show Crimson Desert, the person they one up is themselves.

Well, the Crimson Desert looks gorgeous and highly interesting, but for me the sci-fi parts of the game and the floating platforms are quite off-putting, they diminish the medieval-fantasy immersion. Reminds me on WoW's BC expansion, which I dislike because of that very reason.

I haven't been excited for a game in a very long time, finally something so grand, and so epic has come along. The team at Pearl Abyss has absolutely killed it. The optimization, and vast hardware this game runs on is a rarity these days.

Furthermore, there are people who will nitpick and badmouth the game all day long if there is even a single flaw. Just looking at this game, all sorts of critical public opinion are already boiling over. Game companies must overcome this, but it is not easy. As mentioned earlier, because it requires such massive amounts of money and time, the negative public opinion exhausts them before they even start, making it impossible to do anything. Our attitude as gamers must also change. Tell them to just go for it. The criticism and blame that follow can come later. There is no perfect game in the world; we simply fix things one by one through future updates. We gamers need to condemn those who blindly spout negative comments ourselves.
