@@DownAndDirtyOffRoad I have done this before ... it works flawlessly! You have to use the 450r brake stay and the caliper bolts right up. You will also need the 450r rotor (which also just fits right on the the axle splines with no modifications necessary)
Hey man videos are great👍🏼I was wondering where I could get the bracket to hold the N and R lights and key, also where you got the R light. Appreciate the help
I made my own bracket (just drill the right size holes using a Titanium Step Drill Bit - amzn.to/3lkpYwv ) and I got the wires, lenses, and bulbs from here ... www.motosport.com/oem-parts/honda/2007/trx400ex/handlebar - Numbers 5, 6, and 7 in the diagram
The neutral and reverse light holes are just under 3/8" and the ignition key hole is about 1" - just go slow and keep fitting the attachments into the holes until it is perfect ... you can always file away more metal, but you can never put it back, so GO SLOW!
Here is another video I did (the link should start at sixteen:fifty six) that talks about the key and lights bracket ... ruclips.net/video/xEvQf_vAED4/видео.html
I know I’m a year late to the video, but I have been loving the 400 build series. I’m currently doing one myself. As I’ve never seen it before, I have to ask about a part on the master cylinder that you install at 9:45. What is the red cap with the spring? I love all of the red anodized accents.
@@williambidwell2588 Thank you sir! I am in the middle of a YFZ450 build right now (on hold til the end of the summer) but next is going to an XR400 dirt bike with a 05+ 400ex motor swap with reverse! I am essentially going to make a dirt bike with reverse ... lol
I'm not sure without actually seeing the problem. Is this a 400ex bracket or are you doing the 450r bracket? If the 450r, sometimes you may need to add spacers (or washers) to line up properly.
yes, but you need more than just the caliper ... you also need the 450r rear brake stay (mounting plate) and rear brake rotor (brake disc). Some people have needed to use washers as spacers for the caliper mounting but mine did not need them. I have since moved to a Glann Inovations 450r caliper mounting bracket that allows me to use the 400ex rotor setup - www.glanninnovations.com/~shop/brake-mounting-plate/brake-mounting-plate-trx400/304414/?catId=55127

There are way too many parts to put links to all of them! Also, a lot of the parts do not have actual links to them individually. Which parts do you need? I will do my best to point you in the right direction.
I just bought a honda 400ex and it needs the whole back brakes system ima try to watch this video and put it together.
Sounds like a great project! You will probably want to get a service manual too. They help a lot and are handy for whatever needs fixing.

I ordered everything I need on ebay do you know if it will come with the hardware

How do I know when my bolt is at 22 ft lb
You use a torque wrench - amzn.to/3cH40RA - when you set the torque wrench to 22 ft lb it will click and not tighten any more
