    Danny, you have been in my thoughts and prayers a lot lately. You have mentioned some heart problems, but when I was in prayer I felt it pressed upon me that in your past you were exposed to heavy metals and are having trouble now absorbing certain minerals such as selenium and magnesium. Selenium in particular can help flush heavy metals, but only if absorbed. Please consider this as what I receive in prayer is never of no value, but may simply be a clue to lead to the answer for you. It is YHWH's pleasure to reveal great mysteries to His children for their benefit.
    For the life of me I can't remember which homestead channel mentioned your channel, but I'm glad they did, you are a true asset to the the homesteading community, display a fantastic work ethic and I'm happy to mention your channel to others.
    I will continue to pray for your's and Wanda's health and success.

      Jesus should tell you to lay off the facebook pseudoscience, and that if this man truly suffers from heavy metal poisoning he should seek out a doctor who can put him under dialysis/chelation. Eating walnuts won’t help heart disease. Unless of course you’re replacing a fast food diet with them, in which case, sure, jeebus is probably right.

    Deer came and did prune back all my apple trees branches, I had to put garden fence around them, double high. They will be three this spring, I think it is time to feed a bit, too. I will be adding one more that pollinates in the same flowering time as my other two. They are dwarfs so maybe this year or next they will start producing.

    Always best to cut your limbs off real close to the tree that way the little stob don't have to rot off and leave a hole in the tree if you cut it close it can just go ahead and heal over

    Danny do you add a thick layer of manure before adding the wood mulch? I have got 6 truckloads of woodchips to spread in my yard to start my back to Eden garden. Everybody is talking about nitrogen robbing but I've only seen one guy spread manure before his woodchips. I'm not thinking of spreading manure everywhere but around trees. I'm putting in tall raised beds for gardening because I'm disabled and can't bend(bad bad back) but I don't want to hurt my fruit trees. I have a fig peach and pear trees in my yard.

    Very interesting. I planted a plum tree in my front yard and topped it at 7ft to keep it short. I spent the first 3 years picking all the flowers off the tree in spring in the hopes that it would work like my grapes and produce better.
    Well, on year 4 I let it fruit and it put on so much fruit that it bent the tree over to the ground! It has never been straight since. It kind of leans at a 25deg angle. I have tried putting t-posts in the ground and straightening it up by wiring it to the t-posts, but that did not work. The tree is now 9 years old and I can not get it to straighten up. Im not sure if I will ever get it growing straight.
    Do you have any suggestions that may help?

    • @charlesmccullough1365
      @charlesmccullough1365 4 года назад

      I would tell you that you should have thinned out the fruit even today.But,at 9 yrs. old let it go and fruit because that's what you planted it for.

    • @caseG80
      @caseG80 4 года назад +1

      Grandpa's Place there’s no need to worry about straightening the tree as long as it’s holding fruit and not breaking and it’s easily picked thats great people try to train there trees this way. Check out a channel called L2Survive and his tours of the back to eden garden Paul has some beautiful apple trees that’s branches are growing completely sideways there huge to. I’m gonna try to link the video

  • @fishmut

    Good video but the shade cloth may prevent water getting down to the roots if it suppressed weeds, some sheets of cardboard or old news paper can do the same trick and break down , thick mulch also helps as you know. Just not a fan of weed mats, trees don’t use weed mats in nature.
