I really don’t rate Jess Wood as a guitarist, this song proves it to me. I used to love Reef so much and to be fair their new album is great, but with Kenwyn leaving they’ve lost a big part of their sound 😪
James Marshall Hendrix totally agree! Ken Wynn had such great feel. This guy sounds just like an intermediate player at best. He just keeps fluffing that riff.
Firstly, when did Rick Grimes replace Gary? Second, when did Gandalf replace Jack and lastly where in the flying fuck did all the intensity, grove and most importantly the SLIDE go from the guitar riff??!!! Appalled to hear this banging tune played so poorly.
This is way above Wood's ability. I've seen Slash, Dimebag, Bumblefoot, Manics, Metallica, Zakk Wylde, to name a bare few, and I've studied countless others... they're fucking Gods of the instrument. I make a living as a guitar teacher. I saw Reef play with this guy and watching him, I was thinking "where do I start with this guy?" He has no talent. Sure, he can play a few chords but there's no feel or flair, it's really weak. It's just so underwhelming.
Jesse kind of plays like a hobbyist/bedroom musician 👍 I mean he’s not bad, but he doesn’t sound like a professional musician. It’s clunky and amateurish. I mean, when I play this song it kinda sounds like this 😂
I know man I agree. I've seen a few clips where Dom (the drummer) has been shaking his head at how amateur he can be, but I'm not sure why they tolerate it.
Naked is of Reef's hard rock driven songs. Too bad Wood's just literally screwing it all up right in front of them. Where do I start? Tone, dynamics, overall musicianship is just bad. Honestly, it looks like a mediocre college guitar who have been given a chance to play in a major gig. Bring Kenwyn House back!

Wow I remember this song being an absolute assault on the ears. The riff and tone of his voice was phenomenal but this is so lacklustre and sounds like a band who got sick of the song 2 decades ago and realised they are still are. His voice has lost every unique quality.
